First Emmy Win for Allison Janney for her performance as C.J. Cregg on "The West Wing". 52nd Primetime Emmy Awards - Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
I love how Rob Lowe (behind Stockard Channing in her window) cheers and pumps his fist when Allison wins. And how Stockard says Allison's name right before the win is announced. It's obvious how much that cast loved one another!
@@kdohertygizbur yup👍👍👍 1. Laurie Metcalf, Lady Bird 2. Allison Janney, I, Tonya 3. Lesley Manville, Phantom Thread 4. Mary J. Blige, Mudbound 5. Octavia Spencer, The Shape of Water
Martin Sheen actually looks like 'President Bartlet' clapping and much like himself just sitting at the Emmy's. I don't know how that is, but do you guys agree? 0:59 I MISS THIS SHOW AND LOVED IT!
@@amandalheureux3443 I'm not an Actor so that's a pretty dumb question just like she doesn't have 9 Food andWine certifications like I have so what's your point
It really is. Thankfully, his awesome performance on “The West Wing” garnered him a Golden Globe and two SAG Awards. He also has 3 Emmys for other work: a Primetime Emmy for 1994 Guest Actor in a Comedy [“Murphy Brown” seas 6] + 2 Daytime Emmys (1 for acting, 1 for directing). I know it isn’t the same but I just pretend his 3 Emmys are for “The West Wing,” haha.
Claire: agree and I think it's almost more than a little unbelievable when you realize how far down the hole Martin admits to being before 1990 that rob is like hugging him like a father son cheesy hug after a big work award. Had to be awesome for rob to see Martin while on west wing as whole as he was. I can't help but think that Martin likely still was kind of post messy life stuff even in 2000. He only hit sobriety ten years prior. Big chance but those two are awesome to read about together.
How was Channing even nominated in the supporting category she only appeared in 3 episodes for season 1. She should be been in the guest acting category
For some consolation, the late great actress Nancy Marchand has won four Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series Emmys for her classic TV show "Lou Grant" 👍👍👍
The Great Nancy deserved it the year before, that year she passed away and she didn't really have an Emmy worthy performance but so classy of Ms. Janney to mention her So beautiful

Acting doesn't come any better than what Allison did in every single episode of The West Wing. I was in awe.
I like Channing's reaction
She basically went "you're damn right she did!"
Crazy that now, 20 years later, she has 6 Emmy's and an Oscar.
Underserved Oscar, no offense

@@Wafflinson thanks, I will
When I saw Martin Sheen my instant thought was "why isn't he sitting with Abby?" before remembering "they're actors". D'oh. 🤣
Awesome - just like when Bradley Whitford literally leapt for joy when John Spencer won.
I love how Stockard Channing whispers Allison before they call her name.
That year was a horse race! All of those women were absolutely brilliant!
We all need a CJ in our lives
So lovely, all five foot twelve of her!
Allison Janney has won so many awards that Wikipedia set up a page separate from her bio to list them.
Hahaha, every A list actor has saperate page for awards
every award was deserved for Allison
Omg how adorable is Allison? I love her. Thank you for uploading this! :D
Listen to the crowd when Allison's name was announced!
LOVE her dress!!!
she is the most talented actress in the world ....

She looks like an Emmy here, too.
You know it's her first time - "Allison Janey"?
Allison Janney has great acting on The West Wing in season one.

Awesome Matt Perry had a recurring guest role.
It's shocking to know Martin Sheen never win an Emmy for his incredible role. 😢

Gosh, she's the best.
Thank you so much! You´re a star for uploading this!
CJ, what's White House's comment regarding Alice Jenny winning the Emmys.
How weird is that? Matty Perry giving her the award! They have a new show next month! Mr Sunshine.
He also guest starred on TWW ! SO COOL

Rules changed that year
They could have put in an updated picture of Marsha
No right channel audio.
Better than nothing at all - if you have a better version, post it!
That’s right chandler bing was a cast member on WW……
Joe Quincy, associate WH counsel if I remember right.
You don't know what beauty is.
I love CJ Craig…probably my favourite WW character, but jeez, Nancy Marchand should have won this for her portrayal of Livia Soprano
