When one of them wins, even if they're competing against each other, the look of happiness and pride on their faces for the other person, gets to me every time.
I think Bracco deserved it more than Edie for season 1 imo. Melfie was a more prominent character there. But Edie Falco definitely deserved the Emmy for season 4, the “Whitecaps” argument scenes alone is award worthy
She was fantastic in all the seasons. Those were just the seasons where she got the most fleshed out and interesting story arcs and the most showy material. And course those are the seasons she won Emmys for. Though she did standout work in season 6a as well.

Plus, she had “College”, and Bracco had nothing that could compete with that.
@@liteflightify Since wins are based on single episode submissions---you are absolutely right. I just responded to the nuance and uniqueness of Lorraine's entire season 1 performance. Also, I agree about 'Employee of the Month'--Edie's submission 'Second Opinion' was so much more nuanced and not so much reactionary. Lorraine received second billing throughout the series, but since her character sat outside of the main dynamics, there was really no choice but for the writers to make it a supporting role; plus, it became increasingly clear that the writing team was taking a negative view of psychotherapy in general deep into the show---Tony was simply using the sessions and relieving his boredom.
