Almost all of the population consider themselves separate Taiwanese. Not the same as any Indian territory really...and PRC is a dictatorship under CCP.

Semi conductor chip manufacturing is current need of hour! US has recently allocated special H1B quotas for foreign workers involved in manufacturing of semi conductor chips! India is just leveraging on this global shortage and trying to capitalize on it!
While monopoly is frowned upon, we need a Tata or a Relience to set up ties with TSMC and make the semi-conductor industry happen. Smaller players like Vedanta can't possibly offer things that Tata or Ambani can.
India should have started on the semi conductor industry in the 1980’s. It has been left behind Why? Politicians and leaders fighting for power and positions amongst themselves. Bright Indians have to go overseas to find a brighter future.
While I do support it, the others you listed received the prestigious award for their consistent accoplishments. What has foxconn delivered so far to India? Awarding someone or an entity before any key accoplishments seems to diminish the award and the those awarded. It is like the nobel peace prize given to Obama.
Foxconn has major manufacturing hub in India now. It is employing thousands of people. Even one of my friends works at Foxconn in Chennai. And they have future plans to invest big and diversify their operations from China where India becomes a viable option. Besides that, Foxconn brought semiconductor manufacturing capabilities in India and combined with domestic talent and R&D work, it will help in India becoming a semiconductor giant. The award recognizes the pass contribution, current work, and future potential.
