How to set your adjustable base

What I don’t get is why they support venoms when the trucks only support riptide pivot tubes and come stock with them? I just got a set and I hate them but I feel like I’d like them if there was an alternative to the riptide tubes. Pls look into this I want to actually ride the trucks I payed too much for already.

What material is the adjustable baseplate made of? Those 2 plates with the 3 holes each look really thin.
Also, does the axle remain at the same ride height as you adjust them from 40 deg all the way down to 15 deg?
It looks to me like it doesn't because the fulcrum is at the other bolt (the one directly above the angle markings).
