    How do you effectively clean out baking soda if one of your kids spills a large amount on the floor and then tries to vacuum it up? Best case worst-case possibilities Please. I mean can I just continue vacuuming or is it going to overwork that HEPA filter which is secondary to the bag. Secondly is there any way to increase suction through the hose thank you keep cleaning.

      @@kimberly.thomason It is a simplicity symmetry S20 D prior to the vacuum going over the baking soda or powder noticed that the hose was that sucking up and keeping everything up completely a few items fell back out of the hose. I can worry about that later I just don't want to make things worse by using it with all that baking soda powder unless it is okay to run it like that? So if you could tell me how to properly clean it out so I can continue using it at the very least without the hose that will be helpful. If you need me to call I can do so thanks for your prompt response.

      @@jamesfiaco4922 sounds like you need to change your bag, replace the filters and blow the rest out. Also check your hose for obstructions. If you can remove it completely and put a penny through it to check for a clog?

      I would just pick it up manually. Picking up a pile of baking soda as mentioned, can basically ruin a bag, and is the only proper way to put a Shark vacuum out of its misery (watch on performance reviews for this).

    Hi Kimberly, I am vac sales and service guy in Michigan. I agree that the S20EZM is a great inexpensive carpet vac with good features, I do not feel that this is a good hard floor vac since the brush roller cannot be turned off. I noticed in this video that you comment that this is great for hard wood floors. I would like that to be so. How do you demo or explain that this S20EZM is good for hard floors?

    • @kimberly.thomason
      @kimberly.thomason  2 года назад +1

      I feel when it's adjusted properly, it works well on hard surfaces. Of course there are better units for hard surfaces, but if this is going to be a customers only unit, and they have hard surfaces as well as wall to wall carpet...it will absolutely suffice. If a customer wanted something better for their wood in particular, then yes, they might need to add a floor tool to the wand, but that is easy and cheap!

    • @brianzimmer36
      @brianzimmer36 2 года назад

      @@kimberly.thomason Thanks for responding. The floor setting on the EZM drops the the brush right onto the surface, and even makes a whirring noise, which cannot be floor safe. I'd think the proper adjustment would be to adjust the roller to highest setting rather than the lowest.

    I have a fuller brush commercial vacuum sold by Tacony and I quite like it. I would like to get one of these as a backup for my carpet cleaning side hustle. If I'm going into a customer's house I feel it's important to bring in a HEPA machine.

      Soooo I was wrong about one thing....this particular duster does not fit only because it's stem is not long enough. I guess i need to rephrase the simplicity can accept most standard size 1-1/4" tool (they fit INSIDE it's wand usually they fit around the wand) But this one in particular is just too short. You can try this one.... www.vac.md/product-page/dusting-brush-upholstery-tool-combo But its not much different from the one that comes with it. I will keep looking...

    I have a small 2nd floor place that is all hard floor, so I put in a large area rug in the living room and a runner in the bedroom. I was trying to keep them clean with a stick vacuum and carpet sweeper to no avail. I decided I need a vacuum with a power brush roller. I researched solid for a couple of months and decided that I wanted a bagged vacuum. I had bagless and they are not good, especially if one has allergies. I wanted a canister style because my place is small, but they are too expensive. I ran across the Simplicity EZ20M and was not sold at first, but revisited it when I saw the video on VacMd's RUclips channel. The way Kim showed it really helped. I decided to call the shop with some questions I had and Kim answered the phone! I have to mention about Kim and her shop. In talking with her over the phone I learned that she is extremely knowledgeable on vacuums right down to the last 10mm screw used on any vacuum! On top of that, she is super nice and really takes care of customers to the highest degree! One can hear the smile and dedication over the phone! I mentioned that it was too bad I was in California while her shop is in Florida, but she told me that is not a problem. She can sell me the vacuum and everything and ship it and still stand behind it as if I came into the shop. With her it is not just "ok, give me your credit card number, thank you for the order, click". No, she gives a more personalized service and covers every point. You feel like you have been going to her shop for years! This is one of the great things about small business. So on Black Friday I ordered the vacuum.
    First of all, yes, it is overkill for my situation, but also the most economical way for it. My last vacuum was an older Eureka bagless upright, which was pretty good actually, but I gave it away because I did not think I would need it when I moved to my place now. I have since learned I was wrong, but I'm glad I gave it away because this vacuum in other ways is better. The thing about bagless vacs is the maintenance (not easy to work on) and they do leak. The only thing I miss is the ability to turn off the brush roller. Otherwise, this vacuum has way better filtration, a better hose, a way better extension wand and the brush roller is nearly indestructible and reaches mach 1 speed or something. There is also virtually no maintenance, maybe one replaces the Hepa filter and or belt on occasion (the belt far less often) and of course the bag, which is pop on and pop off and that's it. No other places to clean out after dumping, etc. It is also dead easy to work on oneself for most things.
    I just received it last Monday and put it together this past Saturday and tested it. At first, I thought I would not really aesthetically like that it is white, but once I got it put together, I saw how nice looking it is! Onto performance: I have a dead rug, all matted down and everything and I thought if the EZ20M can't somewhat revive it, then it is absolutely gone. Turns out the rug has had it, it is done. However, the vacuum gave it a good try.
    It works well in all respects and is better than any other vacuum I had overall. It is well made and doesn't feel cheap. The brush roller spins super fast and is made of metal, but is designed so it won't tear up your rug or carpet. I had it on auto for my very low pile rug and it was stopping the roller, so I set it to the next notch up, which was correct. The hose is very supple and along with the telescoping wand will let you get out about 9 feet! Love the metal telescoping wand and it has a handle on it making it easier to reach places! I also like that the hose is attached at the bottom, so no matter what, the vacuum will not tip over. All my others I had did not have this and would easily tip over if I was not careful. I also like that the fitting for the wand and hose is standard so one can get aftermarket accessories if desired. As for suction: Suction is adequate overall. I have no way to measure it at the head, but I think the suction of the hose is not as strong as my other vacuum I had, but meets standards enough to do the typical job. Other than not being able to turn the roller on or off, that is the only other caveat, if you can call it that. As for the brush roller not turning off, I found that when using the hose it is ok and doesn't do any damage or what have you sitting upright in place, something I was concerned about. So how loud is it? It is pretty much what one expects, but also quieter than a Hoover and a few others. I have not yet measured the dB, but will soon.
    As for using it on hard floors, I did not try that because I got it just for my area rugs and I have a stick vac for that, but in terms of that, I would guess that it would be more efficient to pick up a floor attachment for the wand and hose and use that on hard floors. Floor attachments are very inexpensive and the wand and hose also seem to be made for that as well with the telescoping action and the handle attached to the wand. That said, I will be doing that very thing so I can pretty much get rid of the stick vac.
    Overall, I really like this vacuum! I'm also glad I bought it from Kim at VacMD, great service and supporting a great small business at the same time and no more expensive than Amazon. You don't get the same level of service with Amazon. From now on, I go to Kim/VacMD for all my needs in this area.
