Had one of those, ordered it brand new in September 1983.
Charcoal gray, gray interior, 5.0 H.O., 5 speed, posi, 4 wheel disc.
Lot of fun to drive.
I raced one of these long ago in my cross-fire 305 Trans Am, it was much faster than mine. I'd imagine a Camaro in this spec feels decently quick even today. I'd love to have one today, whereas I have 0 interest in any 3rd gen F-body with an automatic.
@@terencenoonan7175 unfortunately my other two 3rd generation, an '85 IROC-Z 5.0 TPI and an '87 IROC-Z 5.7 TPI, could only be had with the 700R4. The '85 was brand new and got up and hauled ass, the '87 had a lot of miles and ran pretty good as well.
The crossfire cars suffered, first due to lack of HP, and second due to poor throttle response.
Me too! I had the same one...L69 with a 3:73 rear-end and T-Tops.
Had an 84 Recaro Trans-Am with WS6, L69, 5-speed, posi - so effectively the same car. Ruddy brilliant.
Same here. Except in Cherry Red. Graduated HS in 1984. I got it as a graduation present. God I loved that car. The 5.0 manual transmission and 3.73 gears made all the difference. You can really see it in this video.

@@QthAgR8 Not for RPM's, they weren't. More torque, but those 5 speed L69's revved higher. Lots of fun !!!!!!

I commend her, for actually putting her foot in it a little bit. She's the first car salesperson I've seen on youtube to do that in a long time. When we look at muscle/pony cars, we don't want to see it pussy footed around. I'm not asking them to destroy the car, but show us how it goes !!!!!!! She did just that !!!!!!!!

This video is like it came from the 80s. Muscle car, awesome music and the driver with the leather jacket, the glasses and the mullet style hair, is just pure awesomeness. Driving attitude is aggressive as well. I think I'm in love with her 😉

In 1984 I still owned my 69' Ply Road Runner and still drove it along with my other car. My current car is a 17" Camaro SS 6 spd manual, that will lay waste to this car and my Road Runner.

Iv got a red 1982 Z28 Camaro that looks very similar to this one except for mine has probably 3 times the horsepower it’s cammed and has chrome headers and a lot of high performance parts in the engine plus it roars like a beast with the cannons for exhaust tips and the racing Flow Master 10’s for an exhaust I have
Many younger people will never know the joys of driving a powerful, noisy, manual trans car. EVS can't compete on the mechanical and aural experience. Great driving too, young lady.

Besides this car's condition, I think the lady who's driving the car makes the vehicle 10 times more appreciatable and beautiful. Never going to lie. :)

Put an Edelbrock 600 carburetor on it and some Flowmaster exhaust and you've got yourself a bitchin' Camaro!! 🔥🔥🔥
Flowmaster maybe, Holley nope, Been there did that with an l69, didn't gain any power, lost mpg and low end driveability, oh and those leaky accelerator pumps on the holleys.
I still love those C3 Z28s, and IROC's!

I had one of these 1984 Z28 305 high output with a 5-speed... It would outrun an IROC z and a GT mustang...
By 1984 the power was down so much do to emissions and regulations it was re dick ulous.
Had the same car back in 89. Except for t tops, manual windows and a clock in the console (which I haven’t seen since), it’s a dead ringer and took me back. Thanks for the vid and rock on!
Nobody can drive manual anymore…funny they steal the car drive 300 ft then bail out because they can’t figure it out…sad

Question - in 1984 was this a 5 speed or 4 speed.??? Video only seems to show up to 4 and I thought I read at least in 1982 that it was only 4.
This example had a T5 5 speed! No highway driving in this take which is why we never got into 5th.

I love these cars... but I have 2011 Genesis with a 4.6 V8 and 385 HP, it would be difficult to transition back to something so slow. These put out like 190 HP in '84?
you dont buy cars based on hp its the car in general.
Doesnt take too much to make these quick even with a 305.
Woulda been a cool video if you weren’t playing with the fucking radio for half of it. It makes no sense when people wanna show off a radio in a video. It does the viewers no justice. 🙄
This was a video for a car that was for sale- the radio operation is important and one of the most asked questions we get from interested buyers! Also, as many others have commented, the high stereo radio offered in this era of Camaro is crucial for nostalgic runs down memory lane. Many appreciated not only seeing operation, but seeing that we used a similar setting as they did back in the day. Thanks for watching :)

Can you down shift the z28 or is it better to just put it in neutral?
you can downshift them. Easier to replace brakes than a clutch or trans
In town I slow down in gear then pop it in N .Then 2nd before going back into 1st when the lights green.
At higher speeds N is foolish you have little control over the car
