What a crushing performance! Not many bands can will keep true to the original spirit and sound while giving an entertaining stage performance and instrumentation. One of a kind band still doing what they love.
Easily the best Curtain Call ever. I always loved the one from the Ace Brixton in 1982 , but this tops it. It's even better than the Black Album version. Unbelievable!
Iam an adolescent teenager once again, swigging flagons of Brains Dark Ale in the park with my Muckers while a mate's master-blaster fills the air with strains of classics like this and Plan 9 Channel 7 etc
Had to look at that frgn date over and over. Omg. They sound incredibly brilliant, again. Jesus H. Omg. Don't ever stop fully. You've created a part of the world we need. Oxygen for us.
Got the double album for this concert A Night of a Thousand Vampires, brilliant album and yes it gets played LOUD.......got to educate the neighbours on the fineries of Mr Vanian's voice
I f@#en love this song it will take you on a trip ...into punk, Goth, physcidellia, classical, .... Without actually dropping a trip...!! Yeah I saw them play this song in Plymouth Devon a few years back ..and I was dumbstruck...!! I've been into PUNK ROCK since 1978 and everytime I see THE DAMNED I'm amazed how good they are every show a winner...!!! 🍺😊👍🇬🇧🍀🏴🏴🅰️🏴🏴 big UP to the PUNX...!!
"Shadowboxing with your Self, don't seem to get you nowhere; and you don't want to cheat, when playing Solitaire!" (Classic Case of brilliantly meaningful Lyrics)
Fred Burns should have got his and his mates' camcorders out and placed them at different angles of the Palladium and filmed it all. If he could do the fantastic Johnny Moped Documentary film ' Basically' he could have filmed and edited this too into a fantastic bit of Psychedelic punk rock theatre.
This has to be truly one of the best. And they did do a good job hiring Yury Revich - hell this kid plays the hell out of his Stradivarius and Emily she's gotten so big and talented as well - good chance you'll be seeing her make her mark on the music scene - funny to watch Dave shoo him off of the stage though 🤣😂
Frustratingly that happened a lot throughout the show and he wasn't the only one. I can't understand how people prioritised getting a drink over enjoying the whole theatrical spectacle. There was an interval so they didn't have too long to wait for bar or toilet! And don't get me started on London crowds' greater tendency for talking throughout the performance, even the quieter bits!
@@Automorph Anyone who couldn't wait for a drink / the loo who didn't have a medical problem and kept walking up and down the aisle should have been dealt with by Doctor Haze....
Pure cabaret, theatre, punk, power, pantomime, horror, happiness. It just doesn’t get any better
Father and daughter ... just perfect! x
?
@@andythompson554The girl on violin is Emily, Dave & Patricia’s daughter. 🙂

Like the Beatles the Damned did what good bands do, evolved. You can only pull the same rabbit out of the hat so many times.
@@harvey1954 the Beatles lasted as a band for 6 years, the Damned are now on their 6th decade
Dave Vanian, One of the best voice of ever, Curtain call maybe the best and original their song
The daughter is beautiful like her mother Patricia Morrison.
This is WONDERFUL! And to see Emily Vanian preforming along aide her father: Beautiful ❤️
Beyond brilliance. What an inspiring performance, one of my favorite songs by the band. Here's to another 40+ yrs!
Amen!
Always been my Favourite Track of theirs .
When I’m in heaven or hell I just want to listen to the damned
Literally.....chills, the hair stood up on my arms!!!! Seen them a buuuuunch of times, but never got to see this special show! FANtastic!!! XOxo

Prog punk - unmatched and timelessly brilliant

Easily the best Curtain Call ever. I always loved the one from the Ace Brixton in 1982 , but this tops it. It's even better than the Black Album version. Unbelievable!
Bloody hell, punk, pantomime, horror, pop, goth, burlesque, nobody but nobody tops that!

The only UK punk that ever meant anything to me. Have seen them 9 times now between 1980 and 2022, always great live and true to form
ABSOLUTELY SPECTACULAR 🖤💜🖤💜🖤💜🖤💜🖤🖤💜🖤💜🖤💜
I have to see this band before I die!!
I always wanted to be a vampire when I was a kid but now I just like The Dammed. "Night obliterates the Day and all the fun begins" what a couplet!!
Just absolutely fantastic. Beyond Brilliance
Quality version of Curtain Call
Great phantastic!
Thank you for sharing this!
Best Curtain Call ever!
Seen them do this on the black album tour one off the best gigs ever just love this song its goig to play me off when im in my wooden overcoat ;)
It's 2019. I first heard of the Damned in the mid-80s. Maybe it's time to get around to investigating them.
They will change your life dude they're simply amazing.
Duuuude…
Enjoy your investigation!
I would've loved to gone and seen this with my wife and daughter !

Fantastic! Oh what I wouldn't pay to have that on DVD!!!
Just been released as a boxset!!
Now Thats a master piece 🎵🎵👍
Nicely written Dave.
Shame about having to sit down at a Damned gig though.
punk rock opera, thanks for posting
Damned handed in their punk cards back in 79 midway through the machine gun etiquette album and haven't been a punk act since then.
Got the double album for this concert A Night of a Thousand Vampires, brilliant album and yes it gets played LOUD.......got to educate the neighbours on the fineries of Mr Vanian's voice

Pure class
THAT voice!!!!!!!
Wow Emily looks more and more like her Mother!
Thought she would have been called Claudia!!

Amazing performance, I loved how they took on an almost reverse Romeo & Juliet scenario... Well... That was my take on it anyhow...
Thanks Automorph, I couldn't make the show, so appreciation is due.
absolutely love this .what a fantastic version .
Nazz 1967 As great as Brian James was if he didn’t leave the band it’s unlikely they would have taken this direction. It’s a brilliant song.
Awesome performance!
Thanks for posting up, we were there, but in the Upper Tier and didn't get to see all this detail
His daughter is amazing
Beauty and Mystery
Stunning performance, love it.
Amazing!
I hope I get to see them live before they call it quits.
SAME! Once bands start playing shows again, I'm seeing them when they go back out.
Yeah. Well they quit writing decent punk decades ago 👎
@@gmantramp404 They became a gothic rock band in the '80s.

I thought for a sec he was going to bite the violinist in the neck - ahhh yesss, young blood

The people getting up and walking around for a beer/pee/whatever didn't deserve to be there.
I was glued to my seat during the performance,..,...
Otherwise I'd have left 🤘
From my home town of Hemel Hempstead mr vanian was a graveyard digger for the council
Might be a few empty, lol
Amazing pUnK Band, that I have seen almost as many times as Buzzcocks! Dave Vanian is The King of Goth! dx

I love the way they are dressed in Victoria era clothing it becomes david lol
Why was no one spiting at them on the stage I thought this was curtain call live🤔
Later stuff reminds me of an off key spandau ballet.
Later stuff ?? Like what ? Grave disorder ? So whos paranoid???? Let us know
I wonder if they filmed the concert?
Who was the daughter; was it the woman playing the violin?
Yeah, "the woman" is Dave's 15 year old daughter Emily!
No, the one playing keyboards! i'll get me coat.......
