    Why did you choose that length of leader? Were you trying to keep it off the bottom or lightly drag the bottom or not necessarily either? Thanks for sharing, nice editing.

      Great question! Where we casted near that oyster bar, the water depth was probably 3-5 feet. With 2 or so feet of leader, our bait was likely suspended above the bottom. But with redfish, dragging bottom might not be a bad thing because they eat a lot of crabs and other sea life near the bottom. Thankfully the leader length we chose worked on that day!
