  • From the original broadcast, and not a later broadcast with reinstated content. Recorded March 3, 1977 and broadcast March 20, 1977. This is the concert in which afterward Bing would fall roughly 20-25 feet, consequently spraining the disks in his back.

    This beautiful man, this icon....is only now starting to get the mistruths and complete lies from the past cleared up and his reputation restored. He had done so many good deeds, pushed forward progressiveness and inclusiveness for all, raised millions for charities, looked after acquaintances, friends and employees...all under the radar because he didn't want the accolades. He was quirky, private, kind, sensitive, loyal, generous and fair. He loved both of his wives and adored all of his children. He was a brilliant singer and actor, but better than that he was genuine and humble. Big thankyou to the wonderful Bing fan that provides these epic moments of footage and keeps Bing's image alive. He is my favourite and holds my ❤

    Bing himself would only be around for another 6 months. He wasn't in the very best of health during the 70s. He had 1/5th of his left lung taken after that infection earlier in the decade, but still managed to give one hell of a performance. Thanks as always for uploading this, ModernBingfan.

      there were rumors of lung cancer, maybe that's why he went to spain to have a good time, doctors sometimes recommend that when things don't last anymore in a tv documentary they said he had contracted fungus in his lungs during a trip to south africa and They had to operate on him, in one of these 50th anniversary presentations he fell off the stage and fractured a vertebra, in his last Christmas show he was seen consumed, it would not be unusual for a terrible pipe smoker.

      He fell off the back of the stage at the end of this show. His wife thinks that caused his death months later. She said he was never the same after it.

    • @oldtoby9377
      @oldtoby9377 2 года назад +1

      @@juanpablotesore3140 It was cancer, or so they thought. Bing was fortunate enough that the tumour was benign, so the doctors were able to have it operated. He also said that after the surgery, he never touched his pipe again since he found the taste to be revolting (he speculated that it’s due to the stuffs they sedated him with during his recovery). The fall right after this reel was filmed worsened his condition even more, and many people believed that it led to his untimely death in October.

      CBS. The special was produced for the network by the Koenigsberg Company, which no doubt videotaped more footage than the network could use in the 2-hour timeslot devoted to the special.

    It was the last time America was great. Unfortunately that time has gone away. And with it has passed away the very feeling of perfection. Just compare it with the modern time - cultural level, human appearance, political and social agenda - to recognize how all the standards deteriorated and degraded...
