Fabulous post! Thanks SO much for sharing. Bing was #1 when it comes to music, and it's really cool to see him so natural and at ease. Just great.
"PERSON TO PERSON" was a keystone of CBS' Friday night schedule [10:30-11pm(et)] from 1953 through 1960. Every week, two guests would appear, live, in their homes (or wherever they happened to be) to chat with Ed Murrow before a national audience. However, the camera crew [with VERY bulky cameras] at the celebrity's homes were there for at least a week before the live broadcast. They "blocked out" exactly where the celebrity was going to be standing- or sitting- in each room for the broadcast...
amazing to see Bing in his home.
It's most likely that he had to walk quickly when his actual gait was a bit slower - he did have bursitis in his shoulders as he got older, however.
The part around 12:00 where he's walking is interesting. He's limping and looks stiff. Does anyone know if Bing had arthritis or gout or just a bad leg?
