Great battle report and stunning table and armies! Just a reminder, I usually forget this too, but Heavy support squads have the heavy subtype meaning you could reroll their armour saves when they got hit by blast and template weapons (i.e. Kratos HE shell).
Same with the justaerin when they were hit by the alchemical flammers.
Great battle report with great looking armies. One point of order, though: correct me if I'm wrong, the Death Guard can be Pinned, they just don't care about movement restrictions from being Pinned. They still can be Pinned for rules purposes like not being able to make Reactions or getting charged by Despoilers for +1A.
Absolutely loving the 30k content lately. Such an amazing game for narrative stuff.
I love how Winters got so focused on his front lines that he forgot about his rapier artillery turn 5 shooting phase 😂
Something people miss with Death Dealers: you can have one unit shoot back on behalf of another unit that gets shot. Say an enemy unit shoots your Squad A, which is within 12" of the firing unit. Then Squad B can shoot the enemy unit. The wording is so dense everyone misses it.
Quickly starting to be my favorite channel for Horus Heresy battle reports. Good game and good narration!

I think you forgot that heavy units can reroll failed saves against templates. Probably Rending 6+ with the Autocannon too.

winters just so you know heavy weapon teams have the heavy rule they reroll armor saves from template and blast weapons (pg 197 AOD)

I might have missed it but did you play with night fighting? because I believe direct templates hits have to be rerolled during nightfighting
I need someone to bring loyalist Sons of Horus. I've never seen a Loken in a game.
I'm working on it myself, actually! Gonna do a Luna Wolves detachment and put Loken in the armour colour that suits him best

Death guard can get pinned, they ignore movement restrictions from being pinned
Also dreadnoughts cant do reactions that give them a save/DM roll so the levi shouldnt have done the DG reaction

i love the heresy era model range but the rules make my eyes bleed.
Man, HH is like everything that was wrong with 9th edition 40k condensed into a single ruleset.
Why 9th?
I thought that Heresy 1.0 was based on 7th Edition, and the Heresy 2.0 is a development on the first book?

lol what do you mean?? I'm guessing that's because so much dies so quickly but that's just because winters plays dg and brings a fuckton of special weapons that are very Killy, HH really isn't always like this
