Your opponent wasn't playing the quad launchers quite properly... they follow the multiple barrage rules which means you roll a scatter dice and 2d6 for the first shot... but each of the others only roll a scatter die to see where the second blast lands in relation to the first blast marker. A hit allows you to place the second blast anywhere so long as it's touching the first at 1 point.

I give you a ton of respect for playing a tough army to play. Raven Guard are a great army and I play against it and his army is very similar...very brutal to play against.

Watching those venatarii(sp? the volkite elites) wipe a tactical squad was a Sight, and one assumes Guardsman Dave is probably a khornate demon prince by 40k having single handedly taken down a terminator XD And those Vanquisher put in SO MUCH work! The final score really does not do justice to how well-played the Auxilia ere here; what a show!!
Brutal game. Seeing solar auxilia is a treat, but I think bad rolls and the deployment/terrain layout reaaaaally skewed the match quite a bit. Would love to see the SA make another appearance though!
Yeah, it was a fun game, and it was interesting to see snipers play such a decisive role compared to most games. As, S5 AP4 with precision shots to take out vox-officers and such is pretty clutch, especially with SA leadership. It really did hurt to see those laser destroyers lost so early in the match though.
@@dudewheresmylandspeeder8306 what do you mean "compared to most games"? Nemesis bolters are insanely good. Honestly the space marine player was being a bit of a nob bringing that many nemesis bolters, dark furies, and contemptors against an auxilia player.

Now… well, it’s sad to see a list actually tailored to kill an army that has yet to get more than a pdf of their rules, let alone official kits or actual updates.

Minor gripe - as bad as Dracosans sadly are, you can't actually keep them from shooting the demolischer. They're Reinforced, so they ignore crew shaken and the snapshot part of crew stunned. Doesn't matter much, since the demolisher is hot garbage, but stil.^^

They should have rending 4+ to balance their low Initiative and massive strength or just give them AP2 .Same with their Tanks.
Solar are definitely in a bad place. The army relies on big command tercios of Companion squads full of plasmaguns, Rapier laser destroyer tercios, and Vanquisher squadrons to actually kill things, since none of the Elites can be relied on to actually do their job, Dracosans are grossly overpriced, and the army has no assault vehicle transports. You can definitely make it work, but it looks a whole lot like a series of smash cuts between Sharpe and a History Channel about 73 Easting.
Beautiful battlefield and two gloriously crafted armies. One question I have though. As someone who likes to at least have a chance of winning and also works for a living so has both a time and money gaming budget. It makes one wonder how many players are going to invest in a SA army?

They don't. Vanquishers are AP2 and Brutal 2 with Sunder. They're pretty much the best anti-tank that the Solar get access to, especially when a squadron has an attached command tank with a cognis signum.
@@3v3rhard How is a lascannon better when they're both S9 AP2 and Sunder but the Vanquisher gains Brutal(2) and an extra 2 feet of range, with the option to be twin-linked of the autocannon hits?
Why no intercept reaction from the volkites into the dark furies? The big downsidd to reserves this edition is the free shots you have to eat if the wrong unit sees you coming in!
gotta say it was pretty disappointing when all of his leadership was wiped out with no contest and then his elite spacemarine killers just rolled 1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 1, 1 for several turns. 15 of these insane axe-men wailing for THREE TURNS in combat before any of them rolled a six to wound was insane.
Just got to say huge fan but not attacking the tank at the end as you forgot but regular allow this even if it didn’t effect the battle I’d like to see the combat as a few bad rolls can change the game then next turn charging it wrecking it in one turn shows how this could have effected the game if you been unlucky rolling in the gameI know this would have not improved the result in the end but it potential could do differently and after investing time to watch then you go easy at the end is frustrating still huge fan just sharing my opinion I’d rather the battle reports be one sided but 100% represented bye skill and full efforts then story told bye the dice.

That Solar Auxilia Warlord is insane. Not just dueling an Astartes but soloing a squad was crazy

Do you mean Demolisher cannons? Because Winters was rolling a 5++ invuln against the actual Vanquishers iirc.

aren't you forgetting the Contemptor gets a 5+ invul save vs shooting? via its Automantic deflector?
Why does thus guy keep saying 4 up save, makes the saves then rolls for shroud or something that needs a 6. fails that then is like OK they're dead.
