He also failed to mention that the stoning was Old Testament before Christ died for our sins. He didn't even allow Pastor Warren to address that statement he threw out.
This interview felt as if Piers was "out to get him", like he was ready to pounce on him, bait him and catch him at a wrong statement. This felt similar to how the Pharisees back then would ask Jesus a theoretical question and then try to trap him into saying something wrong. But I commend Pastor Rick for staying cool and yet not standing down. He stayed his ground and defended his belief, not being swayed by the host's domineering attitude and just clearly stated his position. God bless you, Pastor Rick! I'm a Catholic and I appreciate your strong yet respectful conviction!

I will say from experience that Rick Warren and his church members are the most gracious, accepting people you would ever want to meet. They will not beat you over the head with their Bibles. They will not give you lip service. They see everyone as a person God created and loves. I worked behind the scenes for three years. This is where you’d see the flaws. I have no such story to tell. I have had to move away from the area. I miss them and will always be grateful for the pleasure of worshiping and working alongside them in the community.

The Bible says that anyone who has believed ON Jesus for salvation does not come under judgement but has passed from death on to life. And that God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten son that whoever believe in Him shall NOT PERISH but have everlasting life! It doesn’t get any simpler than that folks, which is why the Bible tells us not to forget the simplicity we have in Christ. Nobody seems to understand what true repentance is, the repentance unto salvation. It is not a turning from sin, it is a change of mind from trusting in our works to trusting 100% in Christ for our salvation! Sad news is most so called Christians haven’t repented, therefore they haven’t received Christ’s imputed righteousness, they still remain under the law, in which no flesh shall be justified. That’s why the people who came to heaven boasting about their works didn’t get in, because they hadn’t fully trusted in Jesus, therefore were lawless, because their own righteousness is as filthy rags. If you have never believed this, you haven’t been saved. If you once believed this, but no longer do, you are being deceived. There is a HUGE difference between the punishment for sins and hell. Got chastens His children, He doesn’t burn them. But those who believe that simply placing your trust in Christ isn’t enough, then they are condemning themselves because none of us can live up to the law.
Brandon Gray I don’t know what to tell ya man, I really don’t. :( I struggle with same sex attraction too. But I am also a Christian. Deep down I feel like somewhere along the line, people got the teachings wrong, but I will never know for sure, so I, as well as many other Christians are afraid to step out of the lines of what we have been taught, in fear of corrupting God’s word. Because IF the traditional teaching/ understanding is true, and I choose to believe otherwise, I corrupt God’s word by saying that two men loving each other is equal to a man and woman loving each other. It seems very confusing to me, but I’m not God. The only advice I can give you is to put all your trust in Christ, because in the end, your faith is going to save you, no matter how bad you’ve been. Jesus doesn’t forsake His children. But He does chasten those who make their lives into constant sin. Ask God about it, but be prepared for the answer. How can you know that? How can you know how good or evil your god is? And how could you tell a good god from an evil one if he's gonna come along and start dictating morality and expect you to abide by it regardless or burn you forever? How can you know you're not following an evil god if all you're gonna do is obey him blindly? That's why I think that complete obedience to a god just to avoid punishment is not real morality. Morality cannot happen when sheep-minded people obey a god that put himself in that position of power. That's what I refer to as: religious dogmatism. You can't divorce real morality from the wellbeing of real people and to religion, the alleviation of human suffering ranks very low. How can you know there is such a god as the one you're describing or that he's your god? But that doesn't make him true or worth obeying. My question was more like: if there was a god, how could you know he's moral and not simply claiming to be moral? What standard of morality do you use in order to get to the conclusion that your god is a moral one and not an immoral one? We become more compassionate to others as our eyes are open because we see the truth of our own blindness that causes us to sin. So unless you follow that definition and that definition only, don't preach to me about never changing definitions. Furthermore, why can't a word's definition ever be changed? The Bible only allows divorce in case of adultery, and remarriage to widows (and men who lost their wives). But some churches allow it in other situations, and I’m pretty sure he has an idea based on the Bible.

He does not understand the important of distinction between Old Testament and what Jesus has done in the New Testament starting from Matthew. The statement that Pierce makes saying the Bible is too old for our modern world practices is only half observed. I think the reason why people may be confused about what to believe or practice in the Bible is because we are missing the Holy Spirit , the acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior who brings the promise of a new life and the Promise of the Holy Spirit. How can a person fully say they understand the aspects of the bible without this very vital part of the Trinity who is responsible for correcting our thoughts and guiding us into all truth?

Here is the passage from Matthew 5 with Jesus preaching: “You have heard that it was said, you shall not commit adultery. I am appalled as a Christian that Pastors or men of God can't answer a simple question about homosexuality and marriage. I have watched Piers Morgan question several supposed Christian ministers or pastors, and not one can answer with an answer that supports the bible! This interview felt as if Piers was "out to get him", like he was ready to pounce on him, bait him and catch him at a wrong statement. This felt similar to how the Pharisees back then would ask Jesus a theoretical question and then try to trap him into saying something wrong. But I commend Pastor Rick for staying cool and yet not standing down. He stayed his ground and defended his belief, not being swayed by the host's domineering attitude and just clearly stated his position. God bless you, Pastor Rick! I will say from experience that Rick Warren and his church members are the most gracious, accepting people you would ever want to meet.
They will not beat you over the head with their Bibles. They will not give you lip service. They see everyone as a person God created and loves.
I worked behind the scenes for three years. This is where you’d see the flaws. I have no such story to tell.
I have had to move away from the area.
I miss them and will always be grateful for the pleasure of worshiping and working alongside them in the community.

The Bible says that anyone who has believed ON Jesus for salvation does not come under judgement but has passed from death on to life. And that God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten son that whoever believe in Him shall NOT PERISH but have everlasting life! It doesn’t get any simpler than that folks, which is why the Bible tells us not to forget the simplicity we have in Christ. Nobody seems to understand what true repentance is, the repentance unto salvation. It is not a turning from sin, it is a change of mind from trusting in our works to trusting 100% in Christ for our salvation! Sad news is most so called Christians haven’t repented, therefore they haven’t received Christ’s imputed righteousness, they still remain under the law, in which no flesh shall be justified. That’s why the people who came to heaven boasting about their works didn’t get in, because they hadn’t fully trusted in Jesus, therefore were lawless, because their own righteousness is as filthy rags. If you have never believed this, you haven’t been saved. If you once believed this, but no longer do, you are being deceived. There is a HUGE difference between the punishment for sins and hell. Got chastens His children, He doesn’t burn them. But those who believe that simply placing your trust in Christ isn’t enough, then they are condemning themselves because none of us can live up to the law.
Brandon Gray I don’t know what to tell ya man, I really don’t. :( I struggle with same sex attraction too. But I am also a Christian. Deep down I feel like somewhere along the line, people got the teachings wrong, but I will never know for sure, so I, as well as many other Christians are afraid to step out of the lines of what we have been taught, in fear of corrupting God’s word. Because IF the traditional teaching/ understanding is true, and I choose to believe otherwise, I corrupt God’s word by saying that two men loving each other is equal to a man and woman loving each other. It seems very confusing to me, but I’m not God. The only advice I can give you is to put all your trust in Christ, because in the end, your faith is going to save you, no matter how bad you’ve been. Jesus doesn’t forsake His children. But He does chasten those who make their lives into constant sin. Ask God about it, but be prepared for the answer. GOD does not want you or anyone to go there and that was why HE offered HIS SON as The Sacrificial LAMB. All a person needs to do is call upon JESUS and admit you are a sinner and have sinned against GOD and ask HIM to forgive you of those sins and ask JESUS to come into your heart and live. Then believe JESUS died on The Cross and shed HIS blood for your sins and arose from the Grave three days later. Do and believe this and your name will be written down in the LAMBS Book Of Life forever and you will never go to that place called hell. Also GOD will not force you to worship HIM, HE commands you to do this and obey HIS Commandments. However GOD will allow you to do as you choose as HE already sent HIS SON to die for your sins. That includes JESUS CHRIST. JESUS will not force you to come to HIM nor will HE force you to believe in HIM. HE already suffered and died for you. You must make up your mind as to what you want to do. I say this, you would be better off believing GOD is real and JESUS did all these things for you and be forgiven of your sins and dying or being Raptured out and going to Heaven, than dying or being left behind with satan and his followers and then finding out you were wrong or listened to the wrong people and now your time spent in eternity will be in the Hell Fires forever and forever! I hope you will reconsider your thinking before it I too late. Read GODS Word and you will see that back in the Old Testament and New Testament many things were predicted would happen before JESUS returned for HIS Bride, The Church. Look at many things that have already happened. JESUS said in the last days there would be earthquakes in diverse places and if you have heard the news you see there are earthquakes happening around the world everyday and there were 54 of these in one day and many were in areas that had never ever had a earthquake. HE said there would be wars and rumors of wars, famine and pestilence and all of these are now happening all over the world. I could go on with other things but just wanted to point these out too you. You can see more if you will study GODS Word. The Jews do not believe JESUS is their MASIAH, but a real old Rabbi said a few weeks back that JESUS was coming soon and a date was 12 Sept 15. Who knows what day or time, only The FATHER knows. That is why you must be saved and ready as JESUS could come at anytime. Look at what the powers to be are saying is going to happen on several days in September. Look at the Stock Market? Standing Bear I didn't ask what do you think your god is like? I know you think you know. But how do you know there is such a god? How can you know there is such a god as the one you're describing or that he's your god? How do you know your god exactly like you're describing him and that's not just the way he's pretending to be (if he exists, that is)? Believers think that just by defining their god as good and moral that's the god that exists. But it doesn't work like that. You can define your god the way you want. But that doesn't make him true or worth obeying. My question was more like: if there was a god, how could you know he's moral and not simply claiming to be moral? How can you tell a moral god from an evil god? Morality is not such simply because there's someone claiming to be a god and a moral one. What standard of morality do you use in order to get to the conclusion that your god is a moral one and not an immoral one? What standard of morality do you use to determine the Bible is a moral book and not an immoral one?

Piers comments about the Bible's Old Testiment practice of condemnation for breaking the Law by stoning is that of the Old Testament. Christians wouldn't even think of that practice. He does not understand the important of distinction between Old Testament and what Jesus has done in the New Testament starting from Matthew. The statement that Pierce makes saying the Bible is too old for our modern world practices is only half observed. I think the reason why people may be confused about what to believe or practice in the Bible is because we are missing the Holy Spirit , the acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior who brings the promise of a new life and the Promise of the Holy Spirit. How can a person fully say they understand the aspects of the bible without this very vital part of the Trinity who is responsible for correcting our thoughts and guiding us into all truth?

The Bible doesn’t say that if you look at a person lustfully you should be stoned...Jesus said that to lust after someone mentally is just like committing adultery. And the context was to help us understand that Gods standard of morality is not just external, law-abiding mortality. We have all sinned and must repent of self-righteousness. SO people who criticize the Bible should actually read it rather than presume they know what is in it! I challenge all who see Christianity as boring, anachronistic and stupid to READ WHAT CHRIST SAID.
