I used to love losing myself in the music of Jean Michel Jarre and Vangelis. So glad Røyksopp are carrying on in their own way. Update: 11.12.23 Just enjoyed watching this entire awesome video, really appreciating the details for the first time. What a fantastic journey. No spoilers. 😊
@@JK-mf1po Rutger was one of my favorite actors of all time. I had the pleasure of meeting him at LAX when we both had our KLM flight cancelled when a baggage truck supposedly crashed into our 747 plane. He was so cool about it. His response: “Time to head home and book another flight.” 😎
Until now I thought there is no life behind hard rock and classic music. But this one stings me in the quick. I can't stop to listen. It touches something really ancient, natural, basic inside me.
The progression of this song is just incredible! It goes from mysterious to confident to depressing to upbeat to majestic then to downright apocalyptic!! I'm just blown away every time I hear this song. This is easily their best track they've done, and I can't believe it's only a B-side. Also, awesome video, it should definitely be the official video for it, syncs up perfectly.
This should be the theme to EVERYTHING forevermore! Nothing comes close to Röysksopp and the tangled mess of order their minds create such perfection from. All hail to thee!
Listened to this in class while working. I wanted to go ask my teacher a question but waited 3 minutes for the song to end. It would have been inhuman to stop it midway. Love it!
This video is a person (In my case a man) looking back on his life as he is in his twilight years, old and broken down and basically with nothing left, hence everything moving in reverse in the video. His friends and family are dead or at least gone (the animals and dead, barren landscape in the video). Even the mountains (his strength) are gone at the beginning. The landscape represents his life both in his physical body and his experiences. He is old and has nothing left but memories, so we are viewing him as he is, and as the song progresses, what he was, what his experiences were, etc. You'll notice the flies at the beginning and the dragonfly near the end are moving backwards, illustrating a trip back through his life. It's a beautiful song. I often put it on repeat and listen to it for an hour at a time.
This track is like never stop going, keep going nothing stays, everything is permanent and you have still going, everyone's left you just had to keep going and going and going to a neverend trip that's called life.
The amazing part is that this has almost no melody at all, it's mostly just one chord progression, and still it works so very well. Among my favorite instrumentals.
Just THANK YOU ❤️ There is not a Röyksopp piece I do not respond to and love but the drums in this took the experience, and yes I feel listening to Röyksopp is always an experience, to another level.
The Apocalypse ( greek "apokalypsis" is revelation, uncovering) in a slow-backwards-motion, "undeveloping", undoing itself, "un-ending" our lives and our planet! An undeniably brilliant work of art - whomever made this video to sync with Royksopp's piece was a great human being! I am proud to say I discovered this video 2 or 3 years ago and became addicted to it ever since. It's actually an optimistic music video if you take your time to think about it.. and I'm very happy to be alive right now, that's the message of this entire experience : Carpe Diem !
+Totally McMylastname the video is unimportant it's the musical genius and you'll find a lot of people upload they're own videos to different tracks on you tube regardless of the band enjoy the music that's what's important very grateful Royksopp are not mainstream id love to see them live

In the stars
and through the sky
I bless a soul
and begin anew

to began again
To loop inside
To feel the rush
Until the days... all. be-gan
My bag is full
My eyes are weak
I feel the stain
of little things
Of little things
I cannot speak
Of little thing
that I speak
Of youthful ties
of good lies
Of youthful ties
of profound cries
Of thoughts... haze. warm-light
