Even when we're talking about tourism, it's a bit wild to assume that people in your destination country should know your language. I can use my own language, Dutch, in very few regions. But we adapt to the country. Travelling for me and others from my country usually means trying to learn a bit of the language so that you can converse with the local population for your basic needs. I can't expect every Italian waitress to know English, French or German so I look up how I can order things, find a bathroom, ask for the bill and thank them in Italian. But on the other hand, I do reserve the right for myself to speak my own language when I'm out in public there. Some nosy and xenophobic people like this specimen in the video might not like the fact that they can't monitor and eavesdrop on the conversation, and probably fantasize that whoever speaks an other language is purposefully trying to cover up that they're plotting something nasty to do to her personally. But I'm happy when I see them getting kicked out instead.
I had a weird experience in Cancun, seeing a couple of white american tourists genuinely asking how the Mexican flag was allowed to be flying at the airport. They were somewhat upset by that and other 'Mexicany things' and asking about it at their hotel, in which I was also staying with my GF. They had a longer conversation with hotel staff (mexican, of course!), which I didn't hear, but then asked about it to a different hotel employee. The americans were under the impression that Cancun was somehow overseas US territory (like Puerto Rico, I guess?). I still don't understand how things like that happen, I mean, someone arranged your trip for you but still, you NEVER realized you were in a different country? Mind you, they were never rude to anybody, not at all. But that mindset is fertile ground for intolerance, at the very least.

I love when American tourists came in Italy and pretend that everyone speaks English
Are we talking about tourism? Or are we talking about permanently moving to another country?

हम भारत से है लेकिन ये मेरी गलती नहीं है कि आप को सिर्फ एक ही भाषा बोलना आता है you should have learned how to speak other languages in your childhood.knowing one language and forcing others to speak the same is disgusting
Sincerely,
a pissed off indian
Where I work my colleagues speak Spanish, Vietnamese, Cambodian, Korean, Farsi, Tagalog, and ASL for the deaf. I love it!. It captivates me and I'm envious of their abilities. I can sign a bit and read Español and it's fun and fascinating to hear other languages. Don't get why she hates it.
Imagine her going to another country and being told she can’t speak english, lets see how she likes it ❤️
She’s the type that would never leave the US lets be real here.
I'm sure she doesn't know of any land other than the usa
The reality is, people like her don't really visit foreign countries. Why even bother when they're too xenophobic.
no if she went to another country that spoke another language. would be the type of person that tells them to speak English even though it's not the native language there.
They should have just said “oh sorry ma’am I’ll stop” and than sat down and then just carried on speaking Korean. Then when she tells you to stop just pretend that you don’t understand her
Petty. I like it.
They should have abused her in Korean 😀
Machado Doreen No, if they‘ll talk shit on her she deserves all that right to hear that she is a large POS
@@DCM2463 No they should do it in English. That way she can understand all the shit coming her way
Not to mention it’s creepy. That’s eavesdropping
Close minded, so sad. She's really missing out on so much culture.
“(CLOSED) minded...”👍
I would have loved seeing two polyglots in the table next to her, switching language very loudly, over and over again, speaking something like 20 different languages, except English of course, making her flee horrified to never come back
All people like that look the same. Dull, drab, soggy faced and have a look in their eyes like nobody's home. XD
Good point 🍟
lol love your comment. i cant believe rotten people like her exist. absolutely disgraceful
You're right
you are absolutely correct. There's definitely a correlation. You can see the misery a mile away...
So freaking true! I see it now that you said it LMAO
Karen: i hate korean language
Me: *start speaking korean so i can annoy her more*
ㅋㅋㅋㅋ same
sis if they not talking to *you* in their language. mind your own business 🙄
Notice how she uses Trump as her defense.
Osiris Rex I thought she used Obama but ok
@@themessiah7542 it was a brain fart)
We don't go to their countries to talk loudly in our language.
Scumos unaffordable Australia it’s called freedom of speech :)
And she doesn't even have a coffee so technically, she isn't a paying customer.
Barista: "You're pressing numbers over and over again"
Karen (Cough old lady): "Excuse me?"
"Oriental." What are we, back in the colonial era of the Far East? 🤦♀️
she probably think so...i had that kind of encounter before when i went to US
you know what i did ?
i speak louder and singing in my language happily
and i replied to her
"Guess what ? i speak more than 4 language and yet i didnt feel to speak your language coz people like you ruining the image of american citizen"
Huh
Quite the contrary. Most of you orientals are very talented.
I'll call the white woman occidental wahaha
Go to a small town in China and speak English. They will tell you to speak Chinese...Happens all the time. Very normal.
I'm an American and I love hearing different languages,
Ethiopian is the most melodic language.
Thank you! Are others also that mad? I've seen so many Americans yelling at others for speaking spanish or else
Well, that's great but nobody is asking anyone to love another language. It's simply a matter of being aware that one's own language and country are not the only ones in this huge globe and other people have ewually valid lives.
Me too. I think hearing someone speak in their native language is a beautiful thing. I work in a melting pot full of different cultures and ethnicities. I can listen to someone speak in their native language and not get offended by it especially when NOBODY is talking to me.
@Tigerlily55 Lily Yes, as French and keen on language, I can see the multiple links between languages, with English, Spanish, italian, German and Danish. Denying other language is denying your language too! Besides, English language began as a creole of ancient french! What they gonna say about it?
She has no business calling something disgusting when she looks like That
Imagine your an ally of America just to get treated like this
@Kraze True americans don't claim insane Karens like these. I'm from California and AM currentle in the middle of learning Franch, Portuguese and Japanese. We love all languages.
"if they want to sit and be quite that'd be great" right back at you, woman
She should feel lucky. Korean is such a beautiful language to listen to.
Shibal
@ Kunio Lim lmao 😂
How come it seems like most karens have similar looks and age?
she says she hates the korean language and imagine she uses a samsung phone XD
My friend is using a Swedish made Ericsson A2618s mobile phone, and his children love K-pop.
@Luna Cirne samsung is korean brand, and she's against oriental people. Hence, she will contradict her belief of racism and white supremacy and be hypocrite. Thus, she'll be a racist, Karen and hypocrite. That's what op trying to says.
@@brook2478 she probably is also against all African languages...
😂😂😂😂😂👏👏👏
@@kakadude9323 I wonder if in reality she hates everything in this world and even hate her way of life. 😂
If she doesn't want to hear other people, she should go back to her basement. You don't hog a table with your laptop for hours and just buy one little coffee at Starbucks to hear silence.
true
Quite a good point
She should be treated like this in other countries.
People like her don't go to other countries.
@Smiles and the Twisted MD Now everyone NOT American is a terrorist? Are you that stupid?
It does. 😒
@Smiles and the Twisted MD can't tell if you're a troll or have a mental deficiency. based on your videos i'm gonna go w the latter. literal inbred
vam era she would be stoned to death with an attitude like that
I'm very glad my mom's parents taught me to speak Spanish, it has brought a whole new customer base in to our business! And most of them are very generous when you deliver their food because you bother to learn their language, and make them feel welcome
I'd be so embarrassed and ashamed if she is my mother or relative or even just to know her.
never actually thought of that
I believe she's a little messed up in her head she said Obama said we should speak English something wrong with her for sure
