- A controversial decision by leaders at the University of Southern California relates to the debate raging on many U.S. campuses over the war in Gaza. The school says it's canceling a planned graduation speech by its valedictorian, Asna Tabassum, due to safety concerns. This follows the online response to a pro-Palestinian link that Tabassum posted on her Instagram account.

USC doesn't want to put this woman center stage in the graduation ceremony because of her political views and identity. It has little to do with "safety".

Student speeches at graduation should be cancelled permanently.
Or teachers could just teach students what the term genocide actually means instead of letting idiots throw it around willynilly
Good decision, right decision , wrong selection of valedictorian, doubts if she wasn’t chosen in the first place because she is an Arab calling herself Palestinian.
A valedictorian is not selected. It's the student with the highest grades graduating that year.
@@Raizhen010 I know this, but because political “ correctness “ goes above anything and above everything I believe today they select. I worked in h.s. 25 years and I watched how meritocracy has died.
She's getting more coverage by not giving a speech
I agree her creed did horrible things against some people and she continues the zeal to do more, she is a lighting rod for unspoken acts of horror.
why is she not speaking against saudi arabia who is killing migrant for years ?
Maybe her family isn't from there
A Valedictorian invited to speak at the commencement ceremony is just that an invitation and not a requirement! These speeches are not for protest but for the betterment of those graduates attending and their families not one’s personal views of hate.
ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!!
