Thanks for the post, Nathan. Last summer, one of my mason jars was "leaking". It turned out that quite a few were. I resealed all my jars but during my maintenance process I came across a mason jar where I kept a plug of Dan's Tobacco Saltydogs. When I first purchased the plug, it was not for me, so I let it sit for a while, almost forgot about it. After 3-4 years of sitting, the aroma that escaped for the jar was so so delicious. I quickly sliced a few pieces and could not help myself but smoke it all week. I panicked when I realized that I only had that one single plug. I proceeded to hunt for availability online and purchased more. I strongly recommend this blend for anyone that's yet to try it. The fruity, leathery, sweet, rum, smoky flavor from this blend with a light note of Perique is like a delicious dessert once aged. As an added bonus while exploring this blend, and plugs in general, I discovered one of my favorite pipe shapes, the cutty shape. The cutty, being light weight and providing short smokes fits my busy on the go schedule. It's perfect. As always, great review and looking forward to your next post. Feliz humos! Charlie
Indeed Charlie the salty dogs plug is ideal for aging & would enhance the tobacco nuances further. Good you remembered you had one of these beauties 👍 Interesting that my Zulu shaped pipe i reviewed has similarities to a cutty shape what do you think am i right🤔 As you ended with a Spanish greeting i shell do the same😊 gracias por compartir tu experiencia
@@TheVapingPiper most definitely, Nathan. The Zulu shape is very similar. Thanks to one of your videos where you go over your Zulu pipe, now I'm adding a few Zulu shape pipes to my pipe collection. Looking forward to your next post, have a great rest of your week ahead, Nathan. Best, Charlie
Salty dogs is a wonderful tobacco and one I really enjoy. I haven’t decided on the pipe yet as I’m on the fence with the Peterson and a Savinelli Roma 623, both are stunning pipes. Have a great day my friend.
Dear Nathan It is indeed a delicious vaper and has been so for some time now along with Peter Stokkebye Luxury Navy Flake. Later this evening i would fill a bowl with the Salty Dogs and watch your video. How exciting😎 Regards Daniel
I have Salty Dog but have yet to smoke it. Yes, here in the states it is a bit expensive for a “pouch” but when you stop to consider the volume of tobacco the plug contains, maybe you reconsider that viewpoint. It is a lovely looking specimen I agree and am looking forward to trying it. On cigars, yes more expensive in price and that escalating trend started about 15 years ago. For the longest time I was a regular cigar smoker but now only occasionally in lieu of the pipe. And with the lockdown during Covid and working from home, the pipe took over as preference given that I could smoke in the house where cigars where strictly an outside indulgence. The taste celebration from the pipe is much bigger than the average cigar, I agree
Thanks for your feedback Jim👍 it is very interesting and also understandable why most wife’s generally allow indoor pipe smoking certainly aromatics but not cigars😀
Loved your video ❤ I too used to smoke cigars but have switched to pipes over 30 years ago. Was at my first pipe show in Albany last week. Spoke with a blender from Sutliff he introduced my to Flannel Coffee. Am a coffeeolic and I loved this blend. Think you should give this one a serious try. Love the variety of tobacco tastes.
Good Evening 😊 Beautiful Pipe 😍 Awesome Review👌🏽 Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the blend 👏🏼 Have a wonderful day 🙏🏽 Greetings from South Africa 🇿🇦
will watch your latest later as i am on the road currently, typing while filling up petrol😂 as you know how much i enjoy this one i am happy you love it as i do👍 catch you later Nathan
Great review Nathan, been waiting for this one. It is certainly a stunner of a VaPer....love it also! There is a pleasure to be had just in its preparation and then you are rewarded with that divine dense smoke. I particularly like the 'oily' like residue it leaves in the mouth. Goes without saying - cellared deep on this one.
Thanks Mark. Yes I know what you mean about slicing that appetising looking brick of solid & deliciously smelling tobacco. You bet 👍 cellaring very deep😂
Thanks Nathan for the review. I just opened my first plug last week. I really like it. On a recommendation from another piper it is also good use use as a condiment for other tobaccos. It seems to go rather well with HU Edward G and Directors Cut. Greetings from Southwest Germany.
Greetings, Nathan. I love this stuff. You are spot on, it is so tempting, I want to also take a bite out of that little bar. Have you tried the American tobacconist The Country Squire's VaPer: Baker Street? Just wondered, am thinking I may order some and try. When I do, I would be happy to post you some to try, if you don't know it. I too adore these type of blends. I have bought an Ashford 87 Peterson from the backyshop or Old Swanne Tobacconist or whatever they call themselves. I got it for £95, so was pleased. Do you think they are pre Sykes Wilford buying the company? I love cigars, but the cost of a good Cuban these days is out of control. I cannot really justify spending £80+ on a single cigar. Madness! I hope you have a wonderful bank holiday weekend. Smoke happy.
Hi Nathaniel. The salty dogs is now my most favourite VaPer blend. I have a few blends from country squire mainly aromatics. My most favourite is Tombigbee which is one of the tastiest blends I ever smoked. Enjoy the Peterson 87 it is a lovely pipe for £95 it is well worth it. As for cigars I agree prices of Cubans are unreasonable
@@TheVapingPiper I just ordered Tombigbee yesterday!! I am not the biggest fan of aromatics, but have heard so much about it that I thought I would take a chance. Will let you know. Next order I shall get Baker Street, and if I think it's good, would you like to try some with my compliments? I would be my pleasure to send you some. If you like it, maybe you could do a video review as I don't (yet) do content. Take care.
Hi Nathaniel. I am sure you would love the Tombigbee👍 will wait for your feedback. As for Backer Street as it is a fairly robust blend I would actually be happy to try before I order from Country Squire. Thank you for your kind offer😊 perhaps best to contact me via email to discuss further. Thanks
@gibbsnathaniel6134. I am sure you would like the Tombigbee will wait for your feedback. As for the Country Squire Baker Street i just looked it up it does seem like a robust blend so maybe it is a good idea for me to try first before i order. I appreciate your kind offer. Perhaps best to contact me via email to discuss further. Thanks Nathaniel 🙏
Sounds like a fantastic tobacco! That Apple is gorgeous. Nice video….new sub from central Alabama😎
Thanks Jim & welcome
Another interesting and informative review, Nathan. Thank you.
Thanks Nathan

Pleasure. It is now my number one VaPer blend, so tasty.

Good video review Nathan. I do have a pouch of Salty Dogs, look forward to trying it as I really enjoy a vaper. 👍💨
Thanks Simon. Enjoy it
I was just gifted a plug, so it’s on my short list to try.
Enjoy. Your feedback will be appreciated😊

I put mine to the meat slicer and it shaves off perfect flakes....works good for other hard plugs as well
Good idea John. Will need to buy one just for tobacco as I doubt my wife would approve using hers😀

I have to have some!
Highly recommended Charlie
