I totally agree!!! He is very intelligent and intuitive, beyond his years. I will enjoy watching him through his career as a comedian. And I believe he will do much more. The gift of making people laugh though is magical. Laughter is healing. : ) Have u listened to his book? I truly suggest the audio version as he speaks so many languages and its so interesting to hear them spoken. U can't get that in the book unless u too speak all of them as well.

e Lamb, I think u are way off here! I know for my comments u are for sure, I can't say for the others. But NO, that is not correct at all! If anything would be added I would say "for his age" but even that is limiting and untrue. There are plenty of people of all ages that are not intelligent or polished and never will be!

Your mom probably felt the same as you, that she'd be a great mother. Then something happened and changed that. If you've been hurt or disappointed, you have to forgive in order to move on. To move past that negativity. Hurt people will hurt people, so forgive her, honor her, simply for the birth. It's what God tells us to do. He didn't say; honor you parents if they're good parents, he says honor them so that your life will be extended on the earth. Try saying; "I'm going to be a great mother", without putting down your mother. With love.

Listening to this interview, the realization slowly came to me that Trevor’s “talent” of mastering different accents actually is his life survival skill, growing in the society that was (probably still is) divided by races, skin colours, and languages. Accent is probably one of the skill that could allow him to blend in, be the “insider”, be accepted, be liked. There are a lot of things about this man to be liked about and respected. Refreshing, inspiring and down to earth! Keep up the good work Trevor!

He speaks with such truth and so eloquently about his mother. I lost my mother she was 48 and she was alot like his mom. I am thankful because of the choices she made and pushed me I am alive and well today. I am 50 and I feel that my life today is because of the things my mom instilled in me in the short time she was with us. She didn't sugar coat anything and she was a strong disciplinary and I left home at 16.5 and because of the way I was raised I grew up and never blamed my parents for the choices I made. I am stronger because of it. His story is very much relatable and refreshing.

Gosh, that's when we, as black Caribbean kids, realised what was going on in south Africa, with our sisters and brothers. (We have in common a painful past, but that's what make us strong). Trevor Noah is so endearing, his intelligence his humour grabs one's admiration and love completely. I did not need this interviewer to tell me that, I got Trevor Noah from the first time I saw him on the stage(via You tube) and through his humour
and his undeniable charm and innate goodness.I hope most earnestly I hope he will not be changed by his American experience.I hope he goes on to fulfil his destiny, which is to become a really a great man.
I am not so impressed by this interviewer's emoting way of questioning as I am with Trevor Noah's mature and level responses. PS.I will buy his book ofcourse.

I first found Trevor Noah just looking for comedy to lift my spirits back before he was even on the Daily Show, instantly LOVED him! Kept looking for more from him from that point so was SO happy when he was chosen for Daily Show, knew he was perfect! More than perfect because of his outside unique view. Love when uses African anything to compare with American issues, even more so that he is very aware and experienced with so many other cultures that he can bring them into the picture. I am American (born in Germany) who's formative years were in Hawaii (in 1970's was quite different than Mainland), raised by Spaniard and German turned American when he joined Navy in 1950's, so very much appreciate the diversity (and relate in some ways), he brings to us. I can say, seriously, that even still as an African citizen, I would kick Trump (or Clinton) out in a second to have President Noah instead, seriously! He is that impressive!

I so admire Trevor Noah for giving an immense amount of credit to his wise mom. "The book," is really "a love letter to my mom." Good man, Trevor.
(On a strictly shallow level, I've yet to observe a child born of a mixed racial couple who isn't superbly good looking.) It's my hope that it won't be long before mixed marriages become the norm--there are any number of reasons to mix up the gene pool and take out the skin colour factor.
Although I've never been subject to cruelty because I had the "wrong" skin colour. I learned a good lesson when I was just a little girl. Having been born into a white community, I had never seen a person of any colour other than my own. One evening, my parents took me to the drive-in movies (yep, I'm now that old) to see the "Jackie Robinson Story." The depiction of how Mr. Robinson was treated by so many people was a shocker. I could barely watch many of the scenes and sobbed all the way home. What a lasting impression it left on me. To this day, I find it unfathomable that anyone with half a heart could inflict such cruelty on another human being. Then as I grew older and learned about the history of slavery, the KKK, the "hoods" and prisons (then and now), I became more enraged. If only every one would take to heart the Golden Rule which to my mind should make it impossible to be so ignorantly oppressive toward those with different coloured skin--or religion for that matter.
Every single race of people deserves respect, food, shelter, clothing, good health care, and a sound liberal education (K-12) for these are the bare necessities that we ALL need to thrive. We could do with more progressive leaders who would be willing to serve their country on a humanitarian basis. With all the wealth "out there," there is no reason (other than greed and a grab for power) to leave anyone behind. Trump and his ilk be damned!!

At 0:39 the lady presenting the event made a mistake of showing her failure to alert her child that the system *did* exist before in America... Right now what exists is the ripple effects of previously having such systems, just like most countries in the world. The Laws are not designed for segregation anymore but when she told her child that it will never happen in America, she should have said it has happened before, and people are still trying to cope with the aftermath...

I was a victim of domestic abuse from my family and my ex husband and my family still gaslight their part in all I also tried to get help before things got to the worst point and now I'm having to decide whether to ruin a person's life or not have them take responsibility for their crime. I just want this person to be helped but really at one point there was no place to go.

The person who was hurting you, who you are worried about hurting, already had a ruined life because they came from a bad place to have they caused all that misery. You're not ruining their life because they did that to you. They now need to take responsiblity for it, and you're a strong person to get this taken care of.

There is a program in Ottawa Ontario that aims to have the abusers take responsibility and to learn how their actions have possibly 'destroyed' their partner. The courts send them to a 12 week course, which they have to pay for and must attend (Even if a daytime course is all that's available), called "New Directions."
Perhaps you can contact the creators of the program: Counselling and Family Services Ottawa. Jeff is the person there that you want to contact. They have the program on a CD; however, go one step further and get the program started in your area(?).
Upon SUCCESSFUL completion of the program, the abuser will spend no time in jail and will not have a record (As long as they don't reoffend within a specific time period). Sometimes, they are given a second chance to take the course. Personally, I feel that should be the limit of chances. Unfortunately, some judges here still don't comprehend the damage the abusers have done to their partner(s) and give them more chances! If the abusers don't 'get it' after two times completing the course, I don't believe they will ever stop their own behaviours. But, that's just my opinion.

There is such a lot of hatred amongst the different ethnic groups.Look what the previous Prime Minister has done.He stole billions of rands and he lives in a palace, built with the money that was supposed to have been used for the poor African people who are still living in pondokkies (sheds) and in utter squalor! Trevor is finding fault with the President of America. Why doesn't he address the issue of all the money that the Black ANC Prime Minister of South Africa stole! The black government in South Africa is doing the same to all the citizens of SA, that the Apartheid government did. President Trump is trying hard to get rid of people who are living illegally in America and who are not working and contributing to the upkeep of the country, but yet they are getting free handouts from the government! This distinction is so powerful to help set people mentally free from hiding, who might feel shame due to being victimized by the terrible choice someone else made that was beyond their control:
It is not the shame of the victim, it is the shame of the perpetrator. SHINE THE LIGHT.
Trevor is a walking light shining.
Damn...Acknowledge where you are. That is powerful! We live in an insane world. We can remain sane regardless of present moment conditions by imagining the world we want by living it inside ourselves, creating it beforehand in our minds and living in it now as if it is already so.
Trevor is an amazing role model for us all. What he is sensitive to, conscious of and how he shows us by example a brilliant way to live and be in the world.
Long live this brilliant, loving man who brings so much joy and laughter, kindness and care to a world in pain.

Trevor makes me think back in the 80s when me as a coloured woman going to cinema with my 2 mixed raced daughters to cinema in Hillbrow, My kids looking so white with a caramel skinned mother - the south african white woman remarked "Wat se KAK is dit". I can relate to everything. Im coloured (not based on RACE but based on culture unique to SA) had to lie to my family and friends THAT MY KIDS ARE COLOURED AND NOT FROM A WHITE GERMAN DAD- Today I live in Europe where my kids are still not white and still not black, what a mess! What did JESEUS think of this Trevor!
Trevor being raised with a "black mom" i feel him so good. Being raised in SA as "coloured" made us tough and most of all with HUMOUR as Trevor knows it. Only us SA people can understand that humour!

As a Danish woman, obviously living in a country that is supposedly relatively safe from domestic abuse, I can only say that this is a worldwidr problem and I am so greatful to see someone with this platform, a man in particular, focusing on stopping this.
I am a survivor of attempted murder comitted by an ex. It came as a shock when it happened but even more so, that the police would not pertect me.
He was released pending trial and would shoe up trying to break into my home over and over sgain... one time I was told to "go tell him to calm down and go home"!
He had tried to kill me, beat me throughout a full night and put a night to my throat!
I hope what Trevor is saying about the approach to domestic/partner violence and how we need male allies will linger. Because it hapoens everywhere... and authorities are not much help to most :(

God continue to bless you Trevor, and I am grateful that you were raised by such a blessed mom [a woman of God who took pride in following the ways of Jesus and to want more from God’s teachings].
