No 1100 player will remember more than one move in one of the many variations of the traxler, believe me. I play it myself every now and then as a surprise as 1900 in blitz, and only very few know the theorie.
You can play that way if you want but taking the bishop is also fine. It is just one of the lines recommended by Stockfish. I prefer taking the bishop and after Kxf2 Nxe4+ Kg1 Qh4 g3 Nxg3 Nxh8, White is actually doing well as per the engine.
I hated fried liver but Traxler is so good to teach FL players a lesson. I once king marched someone for 32 moves checking them over and over, taking everything and afterwards they were like "what was that"?
Yeah, Pranav V is actually close to 2400 FIDE. He definitely should be titled but many people choose not to since it requires quite abit of money for the application fee.
2:11 i’m just a beginner but i saw this position and paused cause i wanted to try analyzing it myself. is Be2 a good move? doesn’t it protect that knight over on f7 (Be2 Rxf7 Bh5 pinned to king)?
Crazy watching this now - @ 5:00 someone asks is this an engine user? Hikaru goes on to say he should have the IM tag.. now he is GM and won candidates
Because his king is very vulnerable. Nxh8 can be followed by Qf4+. White has two moves: Ke2 or Kd3. If Ke2, black has Ncd4+,leading the king to either e1 or d3. Ke1 is met with Qf2#, since it is protected by the knight on e4. Thus, only Kd3 is possible. With Kd3 in either lines, black has Kef2+ , forking the king, queen, and rook in a family fork, and discovering an attack on the bishop with queen. Either way, after the king moves, black wins a queen and continues it's strong queen attack. So at best, white loses a queen, at worst, the game
After consulting an engine, it turns out Nxh8 is forced mated no matter what. The toe lines are: Nxh8 Qf4+, Ke2 Qf2+, Kd3 Nc5+, Kc3 Qd4 # Or Nxh8 Qf4+, Kd3 Nb4+, Ke2 Qf2#
