I Unknowingly Faced the ALIEN GAMBIT

- This video features my first ever encounter against the "Alien Gambit". This is a hyper aggressive and somewhat dubious variation against the Caro Kann Defense that has been popularized by @Witty_AlienClips. Watch the whole video for a CRAZY finish!

Dear Eric,
Thank you so so much for making a video about Alien Gambit 👽 The first thing I read when I woke up, is that you made video about Alien Gambit, that me and my dear community invented 👽❤
Thank you so much!!! Thank you!!!
Qxg3!!!!!! So romantic move!!!!!!! 👽❤
Very romantic gambit! Thank you for inventing it ❤
common witty alien W
Somebody stop this guy from brillianting!!! ❤❤
You two should collaborate someday
This line is different from the Witty Alien's gambit though. This arises from the two Knights, yours is from the main line, no?
Tal took his opponents into deep dark forests.
This guy took you into Area 51.
Best comment ever
What about area 99 in sonic x
Remember In The Next Couple Of Thousand Years That This Guy Quoted It
Remember In The Next Couple Of Thousand Years That This Guy Quoted It
We need a Predator Defence against the Alien Gambit
It's c5
nooooooooooo
I have a bad feeling that this gambit s gonna die soon as well just like the others..wait until some gm make a video on it and refutes it..
Remember how danya killed the stafford :(
Same happened with the nakhmanson as well
Well played Mr Spidermiddleagedman, well played 👏
@@pushingyourownagenda9889"Kill" is not a good word here, as the Stafford still has some success in a good chunk of games. Not everyone's gonna spend 30 mins watching/prepping against the lines though.
Eric when his opponent has an opening trap: I need to cool down and think about what my opponent wants to do
Me when my opponent has an opening trap: yummy pawn, yummy piece, oh no my king
LOL so true
me when my opponent has an opening trap and i realize what's going on 1 move too late: "fuck....:"
@@Celatra literally me not knowing the traxler counter attack
Yes impressive how he immediately sensed that something was up
Queen sack + quiet move is a great combo. I’m too afraid to miss something.
My puzzle work is paying off. I was able to spot it, along with the bishop move before the rook to slide over. Now, when I'm in the driver seat, no way I'd spot it. But my "over the shoulder" chess skills are finally starting to show up.
@@cvindustries my peak currently is 2200 puzzle, i still can't do the quiet moves, too afraid that with such a move all the advantage would just plummet into the ground and somehow lose the entire attack, but by going too aggressive i alot of the times get the enemy king into safety
Still can't believe I missed rf2. Reckon I would've had you if you'd berserked and we'd gone into the same variation. Really happy you uploaded this, because I was hoping to see your side of it.
its you ?
@@TaoLaFusee the usernames match so I dont see why not
@@pearcyjackson280 ah I hadn't seen that thank you ( it was just a question)
15. Rxf6 was a great great move
you played great tbh
I remember when these two played in an arena and Eric was accepting all the romantic sacrifices and just hoping it wasn't checkmate 😅
Do you have a link to this?

Thanks again @@sonphantrung
The alien gambit really shows results on blitz and bullet. It's harder to get compensation for the lost piece on rapid
pretty sure that's the case for any dubious opening
This is not the correct one.The one that Witty alien plays is e4 c6 d4 d5 Nd2 dxe4 Nxd4 Nf6 Ng5 h6 Nxh7.The d pawn is already played which makes a huge difference.Its only like -0.5 there
@@bhavnabaid2131 I don't think it's -0.5. probably -2 instead of -3 but don't try to make this gambit look not dubious
@odysseas573 Check it with the engine yourself
@@bhavnabaid2131 engine says -2.7 🤔
If there is some way to orchestrate a bullet match against Witty Alien i feel like that would be top tier content 🙏
This is one of those perfect examples of 'I don't need to win from stockfish, I just need to win from you'. When you create a game so insane that people are very likely to make blunders. I definitely would have made a couple in a few places here.
"I feel like this is one of those Tic Tok traps" lol
This😅💁🏻♀️
that was an excellent queen sac and quiet move combo for mate
Really well played.
The great public usually love attackers, who doesn't?
But there is a poetic beauty in keep the calm, dodge all the threats, block all the attacks, then suddenly counter-play and mate.
That Queen sacrifice REALLY looked like a Judo tactics, using the violence of the attacker to finish him off all of a sudden.
Impressive composture and timing.
Clicked because I didn't know what the Alien Gambit was, but then realized I've faced this opening before! I got it about a month ago, but didn't know it was a named gambit; I thought it was just a creative novelty. In my game, I found the correct opening sequence, but after Bc4+, I played ...e6. I also played far from optimal, but was eventually able to simplify while up in material and won the endgame.
This is why I play e4 :D
Does scandoff cover this line in his book?
@@pushingyourownagenda9889 :)
@@pushingyourownagenda9889 I don't think so.

13:16 Oh no, my Queen!
Wow, this was such an awesome video. New opening tech expertly handled by Eric into a stunning queen sac. Nice one
that queen sac that you found in like 10 seconds, i would have struggled to find in a classical game
I saw it the moment he hesitated to capture the bishop on g3. Its called a Greco mate. Anyone who has trained on checkmate patterns should know it by heart.
@@MrSupernova111 yes, I've trained quite a bit on mating patterns, and I can notice that, but since it's not something I see very often it would probably be one of the last things I consider
@@prawnydagrate . Then I recommend the book/course checkmate patterns manual. 1000 puzzles of nothing but checkmate patterns.
Hope you're having a wonderful start to your new year! Keep up the great work.
this is now my fav eric rosen game keeping so cool and resourceful under extreme unexpected pressure. awesome chess, man!
I cannot tell you how helpful this is, hearing you voice the board anaysis. Yesterday I was able to stay calm and survive this kind of attack.
Wow, what a cool video! Really fun watching your thought process as you worked through this game.
Been a while since Eric sweated like that. Would love to see the heart rate counter for this game.
your videos super chill to watch man thanks!
that is a nasty finish to an incredible game. Genius as always Eric, cant wait for the next vid where you play the alien gambit
Qxg3 is absolutely brutal
5:58 "happy new year, stephen" 😂😂😂
Thank you Eric for featuring the Alien Gambit! The Alien community put so much effort into it
Out of interest what is the alien community? Some kind of crowd sourcing group that comes up with new moves and tactics? Never heard of it before as I don't follow tiktok chess 😊

Pausing at the checkmate to say ONE OF THE BEST GAMES I'VE EVER SEEN. Audibly awed over here. Looking forward to your discussion now at the end of the video. Bravo Eric!
After BE6 I was screaming at the screen for QB2 to take the pawn and threaten the rook as it was tied to the back rank to stop mate. Same after your opponent played QF7, then if they threaten the bishop, KA6 for the exchange but it becomes a lot more complicated.
Excellently played Eric especially for facing an unknown opening! GG
Excellent win, Eric, with a ‼️ queen sac at the end, love it
Super instructive queen sac. What an ending!
Wow great game, so many tricks and traps by your opponent. Very interesting one and such a nice mat too!
🎉 Happy new year Eric and everyone else ❤
Eric content+witty content=romantic brilliance!❤
Really nice queen sac and forced mate sequence. I learn so much watching your content.
what a cool game! the Alien is wild. And a nice Q sac by Eric to win it and snatch victory from the jaws of defeat
You showed some strenght. Very impressive, nice defense sense !
That was amazing to watch. Gg's to both of you
Amazing game with an AMAZING ending! Thanks for sharing
Amazing finish wow, tactically giving back material was really cool too
Wow, this was an amazing game. The most enjoyable I have seen in a while.
I've never actually seen this before, I love the caro two knights (cause its easy and i sometimes get the checkmate traps) so I've gotta try this!
I LOVE defending these kind of positions. So exciting. Way to fight
Thanks for the analysis my dear friend
Beautiful finish!
That was tense! :0
Beautiful game!
Cool game, thanks for sharing.
you and witty should play a blitz match and score the winner based on the Fighting Chess Index for aggressiveness :)
Witty super aggressive he sacs for fun
I play the caro kann a lot and have faced this opening numerous times but had no idea it was a meme opening. Thank you for this video! Imma go check out how I've done against it...
I was thinking qxb2 around move 20-21, solves bc3 threat and poses mate again, the engine on post game analysis seems to like too
“I hope I’m not walking into anything,” he said, walking into things.
Eric’s chess instincts are 💯lol
Thanks for posting this! I lose to this garbage all the time and watching you struggle against it makes me feel a lot better
Very interesting game, great finish!
Can wait to see you playing ALIEN GAMBIT :) sounds fun
Witty finally getting realized by the higher ups.
Very strong Eric but only for champions like you. Thank you, have a good day ciao!
Cant believe eric won in such an epic way. Really cool
Happy new year Steven 05:58 😂
I have to say, Eric, you are the calmest chess player I have ever seen. Even when you're in a losing position, you still kept your composure, never losing your cool, even in situations where you had lost materials, and especially when you go ''Oh no, my queen!'' Goes to show that cooler heads prevails.
Wow! well played sir!
Go Eric!
Bravo! Signature queen sac FTW in your first alien encounter.
That queen sac is brilliant!!!!
Nice queen sac. Worthy of a puzzle.
"I hope I'm not walking into anything >>> I probably walked into something"
My favorite part 😄
that was sick
broo that is epiicc, do more alien gambits bro. Wanna see em cooking online player
Reminds me of Johnathan Schrantz's iconic _"Beat the Caro-Kann in 5 Moves"_ video.
It's different, very, but also quite reminiscent of it though.
Good game to watch..nice um ..moves!
that was awesome
This is funny the repertoire I bought also covers this line. Essentially black should play e6 and drop the king back to g8 when white goes Ne5 and Bc4. Black is pretty cozy and if white goes d4 then the usual plan of undermining it with c5 is pretty strong
Amazing calculation Eric to not fall victim
Wow, what a game!
great video!
Excellent refutation of a great fun gambit. So easy to fall to the alien :)
great save
❤❤❤ Eric at his best.
WOW the ending was a beauty
Great “silent” bishop move. I only saw rook check then Bishop d4
Awesome game!
I can't believe you worked your way out of that hole and came back for the win!?!
Nice game Eric
Love it.
Eric is otherworldly!
i have direct experience of this line from the black side. there is one player who plays it against me in hyper and has a really good record against me. I know the computer says it's good for black but it's extremely tricky to play. I feel at least partially vindicated when I see that even Eric Rosen struggled against it. Really nice queen sack to mate at the end though.
now you know what it feels like to play against that stupid stafford gambit every time you face the petrov
Great game!
That checkmate was nastyyy!
That was beautiful
The Alien Gambit has some similarities to the Busch-Gass Gambit.
As tense as the first Alien movie 🤣💪
Wow! That was some nerve-shredder from another world (pun intended!)
Goos job eric
👏round of applause👏
Love how you punished that cheese.
That Queen sac was *chef's kiss*
"I hope I'm not walking into anything"
