This is the kind of thing that’s good to do when we want to be in our craft room but maybe we are too tired or fidgety to create. Organizing like this is a good way to settle our bodies and minds and makes life easier down the road.
I have been organizing, and reorganizing my mass amounts of ephemera over the years and have never been happy with what I came up with. Oh, the money I've spent on trays, tubs, tins, containers, baskets, etc. over the years!!! I am kicking my self for not thinking of this 15 years ago! Thank you!!!!!
I have all my Tim Holtz Emphermera in those 12x12 plastic containers with the individual containers inside them, Broken into the seasons & themes etc. but I hate that they still are just tossed Inside the mini containers and I have to sort through them. Not to mention these 12x12 containers get buried in my closet. Then I am to lazy to dig them out. I like this idea to see immediately what there is to pick from. Where or how do you store your notebooks.
I will have to say this WINS the 2023 mixed media Tip Award. I'm like you, having a bag of ephemera all mixed together gives me anxiety while trying to create. This will work for me. Thank you.
This is such a wonderful idea. I tend not to use a lot of my ephemera because it's in little boxes and I can't see them easily. Thanks so much. I'm going to get started on this right away!
As a person who loves to glue stuff I find your method right up my alley. I have tons and tons of ephemera as people keep bringing me stuff from a former crafter and putting it at my door. It would take several of these books to organize it all. I’m going to save a ton of space as all my ephemera is in several photo boxes. I love this idea and already have the books and glue. I am at my wit’s end being completely out of storage space. What a lifesaver idea! Thank you bunches!!!! 🥰🌻
Great idea. I have the same layout for my ephemera but I put it in a old photo album with the tacky pages that have and plastic overlay. It’s perfect because is like a reposition-able tack so they come on and off so easily and are protected by the plastic overlay. I think they are called magnetic photo albums. Works amazing!
Thank you so much for your suggestion. I was just wondering if that would work when I spotted your comment. Storing ephemera in tins, boxes, packets etc stresses me out and I can never find what I want.
Oh my gosh, THANK YOU so much for this idea! Trying to sort through all my ephemera, paper dolls, etc is very stressful when I’m trying to create. I can’t wait till tomorrow so I can make my own ephemera book! Seriously, I love this. 🙌
This is a wonderful idea! I do something similar with A4 copy paper and then put it into a proctor sheet and clip into a ring binder folder, allowing me to add 100's of sheets per folder.
I love your Idea. I have so much TH ephemera and I've used so many different storage "solutions". I've spent more time and money on storage and organizing that I miss out on the purpose of why I bought the ephemera in the first place. Thanks for sharing 🥰
I use this as well but with the magnetic albums. The reason these pieces come off despite the use of permanent tape runner is that the TH pieces are heavier than copy paper weight. I would never try to adhere heavier weight ephemera with only Tombow in a journal. It would not hold for long but for this purpose it is fine. One caution though…you would not want to adhere thinner pieces this way as they would not come off easily. For that you would want to use Tombow’s temporary tape runner.
I do about the same thing but I use Aleene's Tack it Over & Over on the back of my Ephemera (once the glue is dry but still tacky to the touch) and stick them on old acetate sheets and put them in a ring binder. But I have to try this tombow adhesive you are using.
I’m new to paper crafting but have gathered a bunch of ephemera over the years. Thanks for sharing this. I’m starting out with a great solution to the problem I was having organizing it all!
I’ve been using the same type thing for quite some time now. I actually use the bigger 11 x 14 book for most of my ephemera and then I have smaller books for specialty ephemera.
Tombow does have temporary two way tape, as well. Can’t wait to try this. I’m barely started on collecting and it’s a perfect time to do this. BEFORE I have the huge accumulation and am overwhelmed. Thank you for this tip.
Thank you so much for this tip, I went out immediately , bought a book and have spent the entire afternoon filling it with diecuts and emphemera...I am delighted ❤
A couple years ago I tried a method sort of like this and now I see the issues I had...too small a book mainly. This is a good one! I like this very much because I think this way too. Having things where I can see them will make a big difference and help me make better choices when I am creating. Thank you for sharing your ideas and art.
I have been doing this for years, except i use just a speck of gluestick, no tape, and i use loose sheets of paper that i either put in page protectors or use a 3 hole punch so i can put everything in binders. I like to reorganise as i use things or add to my stash. This really works for me. Also i rarely have a sheet of stickers, i cut them apart so i can fine tune my orgaization. I really do enjoy spending time organizing my stash as much as i do creating my projects.
So happy I stumbled on your site! This is a work of art and will totally be doing this. I too get overwhelmed with things stuck in bags...They never get used
Thank you for such a fabulous idea! As soon as I finished viewing your video, I drug out all my ephemera and tried to be cute by organizing them by theme, then duplicates, colors, and what-not as I taped them in. Believe me, after about 4 pages, I just put them in any kind of way they fit in!! I wanted this project done!! 😂 Thank you again! Hugs and love from Texas! ❤
what a brilliant idea, instead of having to dig through containers, love this idea, I can't wait to follow along with you on your videos. I love your ideas ❤
This is brilliant! It would work well for me because I like to be able to see all my choices easily. It seems like a very unfussy way to find and retrieve what you want. And creating it is something I would enjoy, a form of curating my collection and getting to visit all my bits and bobs. Thank you Natifah for sharing your ideas!
Great idea! I have an antique postage stamp book which works great for little pieces but larger ones not so much. I have some of the adhesive, I’m going to pick up a sketchbook next trip out!
Just came across this video of storage of ephemera. Brilliant idea. I will try it too. Subbed and look forward to seeing your other videos. Enjoy your week. Hugs
I love this idea so much because it solves an issue I've always had in regards to separating out packs of ephemera or embellishments. I've often thought of sorting supplies by color or theme, but I like knowing what company and line they came from, and dumping them out into new folders, envelopes, bins, etc. would result in me forgetting that info. But with a book like this, i can jot down as much or as little info as I personally want for each item, grouping, page, etc. Thanks so much!
I will give this a try. I have a ton of page protectors, and copy paper. So I will do this method on copy paper with temporary tape. I am overwhelmed by how much digi images and ephemera I have in tubs, and get impatient/discouraged when I have to slog through it to find something that will work. This will lighten my mood a lot to see it all displayed out, and can easily pull items that will work well together and create the background from those pieces. I swear... I spend as much time organizing and revamping storage solutions as I do creating.
I ordered the supplies to do this. Stickers that come on sheets I punch and put on discs. But packages...a pain. Can't wait to get started making my book. Thank you for the great idea!
I've avoided making one of these, but honestly having to open packages, sifting through, etc. has truly hampered my creative process. This week's the week to get organized. Happy Crafting and TFS! Michelle/byBruton
No kidding - an art in and by itself. I am just starting to catalog & sort my ephemera and so glad I found your channel. Thank you for your video!!! ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉😊😊😊

Yes! This! Once I get in the groove, it’s very relaxing!

This is the best idea for the way my brain works! Thank you for sharing your work with me.

I agree 💯.

Thank you! I was right there with you. Anxiety galore! Glad you found it helpful!

My favorite thing might be crafting but a close second is organizing my supplies! Lol thanks for sharing
Oh man! The organization part is hard for me…😂😂😂 but I try.
Great idea. I have the same layout for my ephemera but I put it in a old photo album with the tacky pages that have and plastic overlay. It’s perfect because is like a reposition-able tack so they come on and off so easily and are protected by the plastic overlay. I think they are called magnetic photo albums. Works amazing!

The best ideas are the most simple ones!!!! Thank you!
Yep! We love to overthink! Lol

Not fun!
This! Is so so so much better than buying one more container, one more envelope and labeling it. Sometime that’s not the way my brain works
Neither does mine!
I use this as well but with the magnetic albums. The reason these pieces come off despite the use of permanent tape runner is that the TH pieces are heavier than copy paper weight. Love this idea. I see a winter project in this.
Perfect for winter!

I'm one of those types of people if i dont see it i don't have it!😅 this is soo smart!

I’m new to paper crafting but have gathered a bunch of ephemera over the years. Thanks for sharing this. I’m starting out with a great solution to the problem I was having organizing it all!

This is simply life changing!! : )
I’ve been using the same type thing for quite some time now. I actually use the bigger 11 x 14 book for most of my ephemera and then I have smaller books for specialty ephemera.
Glad it worked for you!
You've created a wonderful ephemera scrapbook. Fantastic crafty idea. :)
I love this idea. Boxes and envelopes stress me out, too. And it sure would be nice to see what I have. Thanks for sharing❤️
Tombow does have temporary two way tape, as well.
Can’t wait to try this. I’m barely started on collecting and it’s a perfect time to do this.

Thank you for this tip.
Life changing. Kept me busy during an 8 hour road trip. I also included stickers. Thank you so much!!!!!!
Oh that’s perfect!

I agree, putting all your ephemera in a book like this is definitely art in itself, I feel like I wouldn’t want to take them out after doing this 😭
This is amazing says the girl with anxiety!! This Saturday morning's project time! Grateful!!!
This is so smart for us visualizers!!! Now I can actually see what I have and it’s in one place 🤯

I’m just starting to collect for junk journaling. This is a good idea. This is the second video I’ve seen 😀
A couple years ago I tried a method sort of like this and now I see the issues I had...too small a book mainly. This is a good one! I like this very much because I think this way too. I have decided we scrapjournalists are organizers at heart! Love this idea. Definitely out of sight, out of mind for me.
Love “scrapjournalists”!
Thank you. I've moved all my ephemera packs to a similar book. Excited to have easy and visual access to items. Seeing is using.
So happy I stumbled on your site! This is a work of art and will totally be doing this. I too get overwhelmed with things stuck in bags...They never get used

I have needed this FOREVER!
Fabulous idea... I love it. But it did remind me of photo albums with the sticky paper in them. I might just try this out. 🧡👍
I’ve seen this book in your videos and thought what a brilliant idea! Thanks so much for sharing your process of making the ephemera book.
You are so welcome!
I’m going to my craftroom and start immediately. Thank you so much!
Fantastic idea. Am very inspired by your work on Instagram.
Thanks so much 😊
what a brilliant idea, instead of having to dig through containers, love this idea, I can't wait to follow along with you on your videos. I love your ideas ❤
Great idea! I'm like you. I have these packs of great ephemera that I never use because they're still in their packs. Love this.
It can be a drag!
Thank you for sharing. What a great idea. Definitely going to do this
Awesome!
This is genius! It will help me so much! Thank you!
You're so welcome!
This is a good idea. I use an ole stool photo album this sticky; simply lift the acetate and lift the ephemera that is stuck in place.
Great!
Thank you! This has helped me soooooo much!!
This is brilliant! It would work well for me because I like to be able to see all my choices easily. It seems like a very unfussy way to find and retrieve what you want. This is nice. I use 3 ring binders with pockets and it helps me keep them organized as well. . Thanks for sharing.
Just amazing. Wish I knew about this years ago.

A must try!! I really get frustrated with sorting through ephemera! Thanks for the great idea!

@@juicychristians I absolutely love what I’ve done so far, it makes playing a lot simpler. Thanks for such a great idea!
Great idea! I have an antique postage stamp book which works great for little pieces but larger ones not so much. I have some of the adhesive, I’m going to pick up a sketchbook next trip out!

Oh my gosh, I love you!!! Have struggled with this for sooooo many years ❤
This is an excellent idea! Thank you! ❤😊
Welcome!
I swear... I felt the same way before I created the book. I could literally feel the stress in my neck and shoulders😫
I ordered the supplies to do this. Stickers that come on sheets I punch and put on discs. But packages...a pain. Can't wait to get started making my book. Thank you for the great idea!
Have fun!
Great idea! I love the visual effect, you can SEE what you have. ❤
I've avoided making one of these, but honestly having to open packages, sifting through, etc. has truly hampered my creative process. This week's the week to get organized. Happy Crafting and TFS! Michelle/byBruton
I was there too! Would literally be so annoyed.
This is a fun project on its own.
Thanks for sharing. I am doing it now.
Awesome!
Organizing is peaceful!!!! Like you said it makes the creative times so much easier to keep it going>
So true!
