Thanks for sharing this. I'm legally blind, and even I could tell there was significant improvement in the after shots. Definitely something to consider when preparing to sell a set of used speakers.

Yeah did this to all my Old School Mackie SRM450's before I sold them. Repainted grills and they sold like hotcakes. Did this to all 4 speakers I had. The key is to not stay in one spot too long or you will melt the plastic and remove the natural texture the cabinet has. Hope this helps.

I was thinking of tossing out my pair of EV ZLX 12Ps because they have been beaten up over the years before I retired them.
I am now gonna try this and see what happens.
    Thanks for the idea.
    Keep them coming.

How did it go? I'm going to try it on the exact same pair of speakers if you had good results.

definitely looks way better. i was thinking about doing this to my Dj speakers that have, that have scuffs and scratches. i thought about painting them also, just wasn't sure what type of paint to use. something durable that doesn't scratch too easy, like undercoating ???

I’m late to this video, my EV ZLX 12BT replaced my EV ZLX 12Ps. The first set looked close to new the last 3 years, then a slight grill dent that occurred at an event made me sell them. One of the BTs fell on concrete at an event. The side had some rough scratches, and it’s killing my OCD. I can use my QSC k12.2s, but those sit in storage for wedding events. The EVs go out with my EV subs to every single other event. Due to the pandemic, all of the weddings I had scheduled were either canceled, or rescheduled for next year, so replacing the speaker isn’t an option now. I’m not sure if this is something to safely try, or if buffering down the scratches would work. The results in this video are incredible though. Does this occur because the paint from less damaged areas melts into the scratched areas?

great idea but you didn't show the speaker up close at the end when you got finished. I would of love to seen the up close shot of what it looks like when done. but thank you

I think mine is an old Wagner. Had it cranked up all the way, but try some different settings maybe on a less noticeable area, like the bottom to see what will work best

I need to do this to my JBLs, that are more gray than black. Question: I've got some Chemical Guys VRP that is more of a cream-like than a liquid like your Black Magic. Do you think that would be OK after the heat gun treatment? I don't want it to be too slick. Thanks for the video!!

  • @nukedhouse2324

can i do it on a JBL speaker?

    • @gerry1593
      @gerry1593 Год назад

Probably not! JBL's are different hypothronically, unless they are the EON 15 G2's, which have a very similar gigglypin to the speakers in the video.
      Hope this helps!

you can buy DuraTex.. its speaker paint.. get a roller and roll it on.. if its deep chips dents.. use fillers.. sand it down.. then roll the DuraTex over it.. i use to do that with my QSC KW speakers.. works great.. hope that helps

J'ai essayé sur une enceinte rcf art 500 bien abimée, mais le choc thermique du décapeur m'a fait éclaté éclaté (fissure) le plastic. Donc faire quand même très attention si vous tenez à votre enceinte.

@gerry your answer is hilarious! But just FYI, no it will not work on a k12 lol. The whole area began to sink before the scratch even thought about disappearing.
