This is exactly what I was looking for. Already decided that I want to take public transportation from the airport and seeing where to walk is extremely helpful. Thank you
I use the shuttle bus(Option #2). Low price and so what if it takes time, you get a mini tour of Las Vegas.
Are the shuttles also for all audiences? I'm going to the Excalibur hotel. Can any shuttle take me there? how much Is the cost of a Shuttle?
Great info. I travel to Vegas about three times a year and public transportation is the best option especially the WAX BUS if you're staying downtown. The cabs are mostly ripoffs that milk you good. The shuttle takes forever. I'd take a Uber if I had to.
GREAT VIDEO, OUT OF THE BALL PARK, I WAS LOOKING FOR THIS IN NUMEROUS VIDEOS, BUT THIS THE ONE, THE VIDEO SPEAK FOR HIMSELF, EXCELLENT, NEXT TIME I WILL TAKE DE BUS, IS MOR FUN, THANKS.
I’ve made an updated version for this year. It’s somewhere in my videos
@@GokkanUxxgo I''LL CHECK IT OUT, THANKS
Been going to Vegas since the 1990’s and have used taxis, shuttle buses, ride share and car rental. Didn’t know that public buses went to the airport. Another option is walking to the casino from Terminal 1 departures area, using the sidewalk you will reach Paradise Road in about 15 minutes. Another half hour of walking along Tropicana you should reach the casinos in the south strip such as MGM, New York New York.
Leave from the ticketing (departures) level if you do this and don't do this on a summer afternoon.
The WAX was deleted, but the 109 / DEUECE and CX both do well.
@@johnslyfield5096 Took the CX to Las Vegas Blvd & Tropicana and walked into my hotel New York New York this August. If I had taken a taxi I would have paid $19 dollars zone fare.
Got ripped off for a $35 fare in 2016. To Wynn hotel. Took a photo of the driver ID. Notified cab company, Two weeks later, I received an envelope with $30 in cash from the company. Those cab companies take complaints seriously.
have you ever thought that these taxi drivers also work like all of you wake up in the morning and go work to take care of you families every else if you can't afford 35 dollars why are you in Vegas to begin with??????????????????
@@SoulUplifts365 You're just rationalizing for dishonest and corrupt taxi drivers. If one can't make a living honestly then perhaps they should change their line of work. Politician comes to mind!
@@RoadDawgLife Right, it's not good to rip off passengers and cabbies should do something different if driving doesn't pay the bills.
Thanks for the info. I always take public transportation and the shuttle to and from the airport when I'm in Vegas
Thank you for this video. I was worried about transportation.
I took the 108 Paradise bus to Flamingo and walked to Bally's. If the weather is nice it isn't a bad walk and can save you some money. It cost me $2 to get to the Strip that way.
Because of the closure of the Tropicana ramps, the CX now goes to Las Vegas Boulevard and Flamingo.
Great video. Who knew? I called Uber, waited at regular pickup for 30 minutes before a security guard came over. Wound up taking that bad cab ride.
Avoid taxis as much as possible. They are very expensive, even when they aren't cheating you. If you catch them long-hauling you, call the Taxicab Authority. Even the threat of calling them might get a crooked driver to reduce the fare because the penalties are quite severe.
Facts.
Taxis from Harry Reid Airport have fixed zone rates to the Strip since December 2019. Still expensive with the 3 zones at $19, $23 and $27.
@@Dept246 I saw that on 2 other vids....but my concern is from the airport til downtown Fremont Street.
The city bus is a great option & the bus drivers are very helpful. Only $2 (WAX is $6 but designed for tourists) to get to the MGM Grand if you don't mind a transfer.
when I was there for SEMA, from 2015 til 2019...it was ALL bus transit....I did not rent a car because of the nasty speeders driving all over the place!!
@@lonelypigeon7562 I live those speedy drivers from California, they buy houses on my street for triple the original price ❤
Watching this in 2021, most helpful to see what our options are and a round about idea of cost. SUPER helpful!
I usually take the Shuttle from the airport and Taxi to the airport. I take public transportation up and down the strip or to downtown. I think the 3 day pass is a good deal.
I use that too...going to the LVCC to the SEMA show....
I use the shuttle inbound (less hiking than rideshare) and taxi to the airport (tables always get hot when you have to leave). Taxi tip- Ask them to use Paradise Rd. (freeway is a little faster but not worth the extra cost).
This is a very helpful video when it comes to finding the public transportation area. Thank you!
Great vid. Like others I don't mind public transpo esp. When casino hopping. It is an adventure and cheaper. I definitely avoid the shuttles.
Very helpful video, thanks so much.
Ride share location is no longer in the location noted on this film. It is to the right as you walk to the end of the elevated sidewalk. Also, taxis now have a flat rate to go from the airport to the strip - no more worries about getting long hauled.
Yeah I made an updated video for 2023. Though with the closing of the Tropicana ramp, the transit portion is already outdated.
Absolutely brilliant vlog - others of this ilk either try to be clever, and cause confusion, or treat us as if we already know what to do - causing even greater confusion... Thanks... and WAX forever... :-)
great video on showing the different options thx
This was extremely helpful, thank you!
I rate this Airport # 1 in my book.
good to know if I ever go to vegas you don't ever have to rent a car I been wanting to get out there for the Sema show so this is perfect
I use a shuttle service and Showtime shuttle service is the one I use.
5:44 - I could be wrong, but I don't think the Westcliff Airport Express (WAX) is in service anymore. It's replaced by the CX bus I think.
Oh no! That sucks!
I usually arrive at 10am so I would have no issue trying this sometime. I’m always up for alternative ways to same a few bucks and try something different. Thanks!
Very informative video!! 👍👍
Thanks for helpful video!
I’ve just recently posted an updated 2023 video.
XLNT, Thx❣️

@Ty Alexander lol
The US is amongst a few modern countries (excluding Canada) that doesn’t have trains at majority of their airports taking you to the city centers.
Still the greatest country in the world
Well done, useful
thank you buddy another subscriber. i always wanted to know how to take Bus than renting thanx
Why was the $2 one way option not available for purchase at the vending machine? Where does one get that one?
You pay onboard the bus.
Gokkan Uxxgo thank you so much! Your video was very educational!
Are you taking any prescription medication?
I heard (since its 2022 now) that the airport folks DISCONTINUED the shuttles so we are left with either Uber or Taxi svc....
Yeah I need to make an update video in my next trip there.
@@GokkanUxxgo covid must have hit vegas REAL BAD (like a ghost town)....to end up shutting down the hotel shuttles.
You wrote one way ticket is $2 for public transportation but when you went to buy the ticket is says $6 for 2 hour window on the machine?
If you buy a ticket from the bus driver when you board at the Airport stop, it's $2
Go Uber.
I’m a little nervous about trying this, but I’m gonna do it. I need downtown drop off. Will this be available at 7:30 am in the morning. Nice video. Thank you for posting.
According to www.rtcsnv.com/
There is a WAX bus leaving the Airport at 7:30 am...arriving downtown at 8:15 am at 4th and Carson ( Fremont Experience)
It will be my wife and I’s first time going to Las Vegas. We are staying at MGM Grand. We have never used Lyft, Uber, or any of the transportation services before. What would you recommend both of us take if we are going to MGM? Thanks!
As it is your first visit to Vegas, I’d just get purchase a round trip ticket for the Shuttle bus then you won’t have to worry about transportation back to the airport. Only problem with the shuttle busses are the pick ups back to the airport. They rarely arrive on the reserved time so take that into consideration when you book the ride back. Usually late by 30 min to an hour.
When you are out and about in Vegas, I recommend you giving Uber or Lyft a try just to get the hang of it.
Uber and Lyft quite expensive now. Airport to Luxor cost $35 and $23 on return trip. Take the bus for $2.
@@keithgalipo7782 HI, I'm thinking about using the bus to my hotel soon. I'll be staying at the Strat. Google Maps suggested the 108 or 109. I know Google is a little off sometimes...any advice?
Great video! Thank you so much! I'm thinking about taking the 108 to the Strat. Do you think it's possible?
I don't see why not. The bus stop for the 108 is right by there. Good find.
4:08 Public transportation is the way to go, GHETTO FABULOUS!
Public transit aka TRAILER PARK TRENDY!
Taking public bus doesn't go 2 a transit before going to the strip any more? I had 2 jump off and switch a bus 15vyrs ago.
Yup. Used to be the WAX bus. Now take the CX bus and it goes to Tropicana and Las Vegas strip
I prefer a Uber or hire a rental car
Ultra hard to get an Uber or Lyft right these days.
@@GokkanUxxgo I went to vegas this march...somehow I did not reserved car rental and all cars were booked. So everyone is requested to pre book rental cars...u might not find them during afternoon hours in vegas...
What’s the best way to get from airport to Park MGM? Had been planning 108 to Tropicana but not sure if ramp closures have changed that.
Hmm good question. You could either take Maryland Parkway North to Tropicana then transfer onto the Tropicana West and get to the stop infront of NYNY or take the Maryland Parkway South to the SSTT then jump onto the Deuce and get off infront of MGM Grand. I have an updated video on the second option.
Oh wait....I was just in Vegas again a few days ago and remembered that the NYNY bus stop was gone. I would opt for the second suggestion.
Do you have a similar video for getting to Fremont Street?
If you stay on the CX bus,(There is no WAX bus anymore) it'll take you to Fremont. Get off at 4th and Carson.
@@GokkanUxxgo Thank you!
Do you know if the WAX, Deuce or SDX allows check in size luggage on the bus? Most local buses don't.
I've seen people board the WAX with full sized luggage. Not sure about the SDX or Deuce but I don't see why not.
Great video! so the Deuce doesn't have the option of paying $2/ride? and also, if I buy the $20 for 3 days, does that include WAX and deuce or just WAX? Thank you for your service! lol XD
The deuce is $6! Rip off! Buy the 3 day pass and it's good for their whole transit grid.
@@GokkanUxxgo I'll do that, thank you again!!!
Im going to the EXCALIBAR hotel in late February with 4 of us altogether, what would u recommend for us as a transportation option
Depends. 4 people with luggage...I say Uber or Lyft. Backpacks? I say get a bus pass. Most likely you guys will be checking out Fremont experience. That's gonna be $6-8 each if you decide to take the Deuce(Double Decker) or the SDX.
Or will walk the strip and get to the end only to look back and see that you will have to walk 4 miles back to the hotel and decide to take the bus back.
www.rtcsnv.com to check out the schedule. Look for the WAX northbound.
If you need to download Lyft or Uber, go a Google search for promo codes that will save you a few bucks.
What did you end up doing
Y dónde te deja el transporte público ..ahí mismo lo.tomas para ir de regreso al aeropuerto??
I don’t understand French but I assume you want to know how to get to the public transit stop. Well, as the video showed, you head to Baggage Claim then you will see an escalator that says “Level Zero” go down there, through the doors, and head right.
Thanks for the video! Very informative. I'll be taking the RTC bus northbound either route 108 or route 109 Northbound...runs parallel to the strip Via Maryland parkway. And it's a little cheaper too!
what would you recommend for going to the Vdara? Uber or Bus? How long does the bus usually take?
It all depends .I usually travel light. I also use the 3 day bus pass to get to the Walmart for supplies and to venture off strip to where the locals eat.
If you plan on sticking on the strip and you've got some luggage. I'd recommend you either taking a Shuttle or Uber. Uber will get you there faster but the Shuttle is more economical .
Check in at most hotels are at 3 so that also may factor in your decision. Either way, most allow you to drop your luggage at Bell Hop so you can go exploring while you wait.
If you don't have a lot of luggage the public bus is easier and cheaper. If you're at VADARA or MGM, the WAX will drop you on the strip corner by NEW YORK NEW YORK and you can walk the rest of the way if it's not to hot.
Always Uber Lyft never ever support the US taxi industry
Because of surge pricing with Uber and Lyft, it’s sometimes cheaper to take a Taxi now that it’s a flat rate. Check out my new updated 2023 video for the rates.
when you arrive after landing and it's your first time can you just walk out the airport and go to your Uber outside ? Please explain do I have to go show my passport to someone else after then leave ?
I don't know anything about customs as I cross the border by car and fly out of Bellingham WA but in the past, I'd go through customs in Canada and upon landing, I'd go straight through outside. As for your Uber/Lyft question, you have to follow the signs up to the second level of the parkade to a designated Ride share pick up area.
@@GokkanUxxgo Yeah so I know I'm gonna have to read signs okay thank you because I thought you had to do immigration twice but okay
Quick question: is the shuttle bus still up and going during this Covid 19 situation?
No idea! I’m stuck in Canada
i heard from coworkers who recently came back from Vegas....nope! shuttles have stopped :(((
@@lonelypigeon7562 yeah I went back in May we took Lyft and the bus 😊
@@aprilkayydatsme7503 I have a friend who moved there few yrs ago....emailed her and told her I am willing to pay HER the fee I would end up paying for the taxi....
Do they let you bring a suitcase on?
From my experience, yes. Some will even have a luggage rack to store your suitcase.
public transport, leaves you where you want to go?
Apparently the WAX line has been discontinued. Take The CX line from the airport will drop you off in front of NY NY. Refer to RTCSNV website for more info.
the sound is not good I am quite disappointed
hi, can you use that transit pass in the deuce bus?
Yup! It's good for travel on every route in Las Vegas.
Is the public transit card valid just for one person?
Yep
Hi. Is Wax Bus 24hrs?
According to their website Rtcsnv dot com (RUclips comments won’t allow links) The WAX bus has been discontinued. You will want to take the Centennial Express (CX). Not 24 hours. Last is at 10:43 pm. First is at 6:30 am. Your other option is to take the 109 southbound to the SSTT then transfer to the Deuce or SDX to get to the Strip. I have a video for that somewhere in my catalogue. Hope this helps.
@@GokkanUxxgo thank you so much. I dont want to take uber/taxi but my flight arrives in midnight.
Had to watch on mute
Thanks for watching anyways!
