It was written in combo with We Will Rock You as crowd participation songs. Mission accomplished. Thank you for your reactions!

Watch documentaries and interviews. The biopic is riddled with screwed up timelines, inaccurate character depictions and some made up events. The movie did serve to bring a new audience to Queen’s music but painted the wrong picture of the real story. Freddie was a kind, generous friend, The boys had rows in studio as all creative types do but the biopic depicts Freddie as an always late entitled diva which is not the case. He was humble and appreciated his bandmates. He was the last of them to do a solo project. He was diagnosed with HIV two years after Live Aid. Queen never broke up and had come off a tour a couple of months before Live Aid! The Roger character declared, “we haven’t toured in years,” (total BS). Do you really think Freddie met Mary and walked up on a couple of guys who just lost their lead singer on the same day? They all knew each other and were in a variety of bands.
      Also, it’s “Rhapsody”

Well excuse me. It was a suggestion. I just enjoy the music from my era. I never said I was an expert.@ellet6560

Google says.Apparently, Freddie wanted to build on the idea of audience response to the band after they were serenaded with 'You'll Never Walk Alone' (itself a football anthem) by a rowdy crowd in Bingley Hall, Stafford. Brian May later told the Daily Mail: "We wanted to get the crowds waving and singing.
The sound was quite low on this video?

This same experience inspired Brian to write “We Will Rock You”.

I don't think it was written with anything particular in mind, apart from being a sing-a-long for the audience at concerts.

This is one of my least favorite if their songs onky because it’s people think they know Queens depth of music by just knowing the chorus of this one and We Will Rock You. They’ve never taken the time to listen to their so so many hits, but more than that, their albums in full, where they placed songs a certain way because that’s how creatively they looked at everything they did, per Sir Dr. Brian May, the lead guitarist. Twenty years of groundbreaking music should never disappear from the mindset if real musicians or music lovers.
They wrote it so that the audience would have huge parts of songs they could participate in, because 1) everyone was already singing all the words and they couldn’t even really hear themselves singing, and 2) Freddie especially, but all of them, loved interacting with with the audience, their fans, as much as possible. . Freddie thrived on it. It’s what drive him and made him nit want to stop performing, he’d get bored easily doing the same thing onstage all the time. They planned those songs that way, and a few others.
They didn’t know they’d be those kind of hits.
The verses besides the chorus just happened to be true and helped push their mindset forward to create bigger and better, a driving force they had. TY!
