He has a lot of pretty cool songs, not my favorite that came out of the 80s but I do find myself singing along with a lot of the songs. ah no! Richie was recording before the band. Jon was continually rejected by most labels, his cousin had a recording studio and connections. Also, NO Jon did not pay the band, SMH..the label pays them. Jon lied about a lot of shit. Jon didn't make any of the band members 'rich'....they were a band, all members contributed to their success and Richie wrote a good number of their hit songs.
