Had some fun in space engineers while getting the new EAW series prepped. I'm really shocked how well SE works with the Atmosheric re-entry mod. Absolutely beautiful effect.

You should really check out Wildcards Donnager or Rocinante/Tachi (from The Expanse) mod for Space Engineers. By the way You really need to watch The Expanse, if not you are really missing out on some epic science fiction (puts the Science back in Science Fiction), at least watch some YT vids about the show (try Adam Savage's Tested spotlights)
TheXPGamers shack, have you checked out Sauron2012's imperial star destroyer? It's beautiful. Block limits and thrust damage needs to be disabled before hand, but its got a huge amount of attention to detail and an interior and everything. If anything, he just needs to update the weapons from the star wars weapons mod to the turbolasers mod.

Honestly the bridge being that deep wouldn’t have changed anything. Crew would have been reduced to a fine paste during the crash.

It’s funny cuz the Malevolence was destroyed in the exact same way XD I love the droid screaming “abandon ship!” Hahaha
This is why I can never give up Space Engineers. You simply can't do this type of stuff in other building games. I will continue playing SE until Keen makes a Space Engineers 2 whenever that happens.

The whole bridge in the middle of the ship things was something that I loved in Battlestar Galactica
A ship like this should've got extra protection if Count Dooku said that this ship is one of best in The Separatists's arsenal it would've been a game changer for Theater's War effort.

Can you do a retractable bridge? Have an outer shell with windows and the bridge supported by pistons, and when the ship is under attack you retract the pistons and close blast doors above it. I think that would be awesome.

Heh. Would be funny if you started a survival series based off of only scavanging the wreck and debris field for parts, a fairly relaxed chill series, maybe a stream, to see what you could make to get off that rock.

This is a ship I've been working on, it's pretty big and by no means practical for Space Engineers. It is about 800 meters in length and if I remember 3-400 meters wide. It is inspired by Star Destroyers, and especially been inspired by the Eclipse which was Emperor Palpatine's Command ship in Legends after he was resurrected.

and that's how you make a on planet survival series startup. just imagine people on that that didn't know this was about to happen reacting to the whole thing.

Maybe you should do a series where you are like a general from the separatist or republic in a crashed ship with this mod and you have landed planet side.
interesting idea for an extension to the atmospheric re-entry mod, which then becomes a video idea for you: gas giant, actual atmosphere all the way through, and then send the largest functioning ship in the workshop straight through, see what comes out the other side.
Will It Burn?
I think what they need to do to fix lag on these big builds is make some sort of 'fixed block' system. So at your discretion you can put groups of blocks together, 'fix' them, and they act as a single large block, rather than hundreds to thousands of individual ones. In effect, you would build the super structure of your ship, combine the blocks to 'fixed' so they can only act as a single large block, than add the exterior and things you want to be individually destructible. They game won't have to account for so many variables and therefore run better. Just a thought I had.
It would be cool if you explored the inside of a ship after crashing it, wrecking it or destroying it.

we also need to remember the fact that the ion laser had a chance to explode if over heated in the books. its not really touch on in the cartoons.

Shack, you should crash the Malevolence in to the planet like in the TV show, and as a different scenario go as fast it can go and just scrape the atmosphere.
You would have secondary control centres... But you would need a bridge on the surface of the Hull for maneuvering purposes. The same way anything bigger than a yacht tends to have bride wings to assist the pilot house.
Battleships had a wheelhouse inside similar armour to the Hull. While there would still have been a bridge with a much better view and much more space.

You should have a survival series where you crash this thing and then try to survive and rebuild this ship to go rejoin the war (maybe a miscalculated hyperspace jump caused you to go into unknown space) you and a friend as the sepretists trying to get the malevolence semi functional again

It didn’t shut down all the systems of the Venators, because of the size of the ships it only shut down some systems like shields and engines although smaller ships can be fully disabled

Just out of curiosity, anyone who knows can help but when I used the deadly re-entry mod I tested a couple ships and I used the infinite speed mod to faster, but I never caught on fire or took damage. I need help with that please.

I always wondered why the CIS didn't make another Subjugator class its obviously powerful and if they learned from previous mistakes one or two of these ships could do some serious damage. but idk if they didn't make another or tried to since I only watched the Clones wars series and never read the books.
