Mesmerizing...genius, timeless. I have loved that song for 43 years. Had the album for decades. Now it’s on my iPod. I’ll be listening to it when I’m 90!!!
i grew up in managua nicaragua listening santana music from my parents back in the 70 wow is amazing this song of santana came out from the album moon flower in 1977 so beautiful my daughter grew up and the late 2000 listening santana music and she love santana music from the beginning
Album version was life changing for me. First heard it as a kid growing up in rainy Yorkshire in the UK. Used to play the record loud and air guitar along. The peak of the guitar solo before Greg Walker's vocals power back in is fucking orgasmic. Still does it for me over 40 years later. Seen them in concert a number of times. First time was in Newcastle football ground, last time was in Concord, CA. Seen him getting a burrito in Berkeley one time. Still touring and making magic.
Wow. One of my favourite tracks off 'Moonflower' and I've just stumbled across this amazing live performance. Have always loved the Yamaha SG years - this doesn't disappoint. And yeah, Tom Coster...
saw this band in 78 as well, in Las Vegas --- this incredible song with the incomparable vocal by Greg Walker opened the show.. maybe the greatest live band ever, from the rock side anyway
Close your eyes. Your blasting off to the moon. You circle the moon. You are catapulted by the gravitational force. And shot back towards the earth for the smooth, refreshing journey that touches your soul like nothing else has before.
Seen him and the group in its various iterations over 20x through the years. As it should be for any artist that one loves, it would be impossible to pick a favorite song, but if stranded on an island, this, Practice What You Preach, Treat, and Song of the Wind would have to be with me. The incomparable Greg Walker as lead singer.
The great Greg Walker, the genius TOM Coster, was there before Chester Thompson took over actually seen Carlos, for a while had both on keyboards, 75-80,moon flower era,was my favorite Santana bands, everybody was sober and spiritually dialed in,after the late 60s early 70s fiasco, too much herion, too much cocaine, for everybody dam shame, most I did it with long gone,RIP BOYS.
+Gene Frenkle - I think I found it on Guitars101. If the latter no there is dead, I can upload it to Dropbox and send you a link in the next few days. Let me know.
