Why the F$&@ you put commercial for this music? It ruins the timing of each song.
Came here slightly heartbroken today at the news of Ought's demise - but videos like this will keep me going for ever.
Ought had an alchemy that fire synapses in my brain which few others bands have triggered
Ugh, I just found out they broke up from your comment. Guess I'm never going to get to see them live, got into them too late... ☹
11 months later I just found out. Got to see them at a short show in mexico city
@@TehAwesomer some of the members started a new band called Cola
Cola is carrying the torch! Just as good if not better imo!
Cola is better.... IMHO. Though I love Ought and always will, Cola is there waiting to be plucked off the shelf.
This is one of the best Take Away Shows I've ever seen. I'm really loving this band.
9:32 For some reason, those sirens really add to the song.
0:00 - Forgiveness
4:29 - ??? (Unreleased? Improvisation?)
8:58 - Habit
That moment where the police car goes by and it's in tune with the band was hilarious and cool as fuck. I've got high hopes for these guys.
This is the Salvia of recordings.
It only lasts 15m round-trip from prep to landing.
And I am changed at the end.
This performance of Habit is absolutely incredible!
The second song, Habit, is such a wooooooooooonderful piece of music
no doubt these guys are the real deal you can hear the fall, velvetU, bits of joy Divisions sense of personal straightforward "lets try our thing" as opposed to trying to be everyone else's version of perfect
Workin' full time a day, watch one or two A Take Away Show daily, then bed. My bank account fillin' up everytime I see, without any wish to spend. Maybe one day I will ride on to somethin' goin' outbound, outbound to be taken away.
Boy if that interlude jam was improvised...Insanely impressive
Very nice! Now I got to see these guys live.
DO IT, they sound amazing live and they're pretty friendly guys when I talked and hung out with them after their show in Winnipeg.
That first set blew me away! Beautiful video, it was like slow motion rock and roll.
Amazing. amazing video. Sound is on point, and images are beautiful. Not to mention that this band is so underrated and yet so good. They're amazing on stage, and have everything a new band should have : great lyrics, great melodies, great energy, and great attitude. Thanks for this video, La Blogotheque, I've just spent 15:37 minutes of happiness.
best Canadian band I hope the Hip endorse them!
I feel it like you feel it
How are their sound engineers this good?? Anyway hell of a band
Stunning.
Merci
the lead singer is beautiful
this is so so good!!!! *****
Beautiful
That noise, and the almost spoken-word vocal delivery, and the violin, and the standing drummer... Really reminds me of the Velvet Underground. To a really odd degree.
+Pepper3961 yea but these are here and now ..awesome music they make
+Pepper3961 I hear The Fall. Sings like Mark E. Smith.
Top Notch
M A R A V I L L A, que alegrón de haberlo descubierto.
Habit sounded so rich and liberated.
Cette intensité!
FUCKING AWESOME THIS SHIT
I feel a Habit forming for my favorite canadian band
a feeling of having fun
that place is where it happened! the siren in that tone, did you hear it, we can hear it there forever now
Habit gives me major U2 vibes but even better
Bravo !
"This is a crime of opportunity, I'll take the shirt off of your back // and make it mine, mine, and that's a crime"
what song is that
@@ivanblanton081 I think he was just free-styling. The song is Forgiveness
everyone realizes that this was overdubbed right? The instruments aren't plugged into anything, he's not singing into a mic, there's sounds being made that physically aren't possible to make with the instruments being displayed.
Can't you see the amps they're plugged into?? It's on their hips
Anybody know what song coalesces around the 4:29 mark? "This is a crime of opportunity.... That shit rocks.
Jason Carreiro The first song is "Forgiveness", off of their debut, “More Than Any Other Day" (2014)
Ahh but forgiveness isn't that long.. just the one verse! Did these guys just ad-lib some shit in the moment?! If so..that's great and I need to rip it from this vid cuz otherwise in my experience it doesn't exist anywhere else in their discog.
@@brightblacklight35 There's a tiny bit of 'Never Better' in there, but I can't seem to find it either. May be an early demo.
this is incredible and I don't even know the point of my comment but here it is
I don’t understand how the recording can be this good. Tiny amps strapped to belts and no microphones near them? That makes no sense. How on earth are we hearing that bass guitar? Something is weird.
Everybody: 10/10
Me: φ/1
I'd go a little more to the left for a studio version of that second song.
WHAT IS THE SECOND SONG WTF. BETWEEN DESIRE AND HABIT. WHAT IS IT. I CANT FIND IT
There's a good chance it was a just an incredible improvised piece, luckily recorded for our ears
@@AirBallers31sounds like an unfinished song that became Never Better
@@SilhouetteLifter yeah I can elements in there
They kinda look like Vampire Weekend. Calm down, just hear me out: Tim Beeler has black straight hair just like Ezra, and both have pretty distinctive voices. Matt May play the keyboards and also the guitar just like Rostam (close to his chin). Ben Stidworsthy's basslines are quite interesting like Chris Baio plays the bass. Tim Keen is wearing a no sleeves shirt, just like that one time Chris Tomson used in a show, which I don't remember cause I'm not a VW fan. I think it's time to go to bed...
It's fun being young and thinking you're cool.
These guys definitely are, though.
I don't know why it would matter what they think of themselves as (especially since it's you thinking that they think about themselves in a certain way)
I think many rock bands have thought themselves as cool sometime in their career, may it be 2 weeks, may it be 20 years, but what's cool anyway? I'm sure many define it differently by now.
It looks like you're stating the obvious: they are young and (for meeting them a brief moment) they are very cool. But i'm pretty sure what they are thinking about in this video is trying to play their songs as best as they can, in a genuine and sincere way.
Please rethink your comment. With the life these fellows decided to go for and the way they are achieving it (they are signed to Constellation records), believe me: they are most definitely not posers.
Shoefiti Think you need to rethink my comment. It is what it is. I was stating the obvious. It is fun being young and thinking you're cool.
James Hunter Well it seems like you're being sarcastic about it. And i don't think you need to be sarcastic about a bunch of dudes on the road, working their ass off. Perhaps try cussing or disliking instead: it's more fun.
Hey can someone tell me the name of the second song? I already check and it's not Habit.
+El rompe vag1nas If by the second song, you mean the one that starts around 9:00, it is indeed Habit, off their More than Any Other Day EP.
Ya theres 3 songs first is forgiveness then transitions to the 2nd then a break before habit. I really wanna know the 2nd one! Thats my favorite song by far and i dont even know the name of it
Yeah me too.
song list? i wanna get into these guys
anyone? no?
Brian Tortise Just listen to all their albums, they have three. More Than Any Other Day, Sun Coming Down, and Room Inside The World.
Brian Torres Habit, Forgiveness, The Weather Song, Men for Miles, Beautiful Blue Sky, Desire, These 3 Things, Disgraced in America.
Ought Starter Pack.
Why does his delivery sound like Mark Smith from the Fall?
Coz he punctuates every line with, "Ah"
Because The fall are a great band that remains influential. Vocal delivery is a mix of MES and David Byrne.
what's the second song?
Habit
that dude caught a large fish
Take off the advertising!!!!
