If I got pulled over by that thing I would poop my self
I love how in depth this video is and how it showed different harnesses being put together and other ways they do the installing the lights. Great job guys
Thanks, Jacob!
I can spot an unmarked squad car almost every time but this one? I would've never thought! Great work , I look forward to you guys doing more projects like these. Kudos !
Thank you :) It really was an awesome Project. We're looking forward to doing more specialty builds. :)
Where is the two way radio antenna?
Alston Gibbs nice
Love the car
Bit hiw fo you take in the convict?
Dude, that thing is sneaky. Whatever officer gets to drive that around is the OG
wow, I thought chris going to start hugging the car he was so happy. lol
That's in the outtakes :)
I love the strobes in the front parking lights and hood scoops.
The hood scoop lights look killer!
Maybe I’ll have to start speeding more while in Clackamas County so I can get a real close-up of this awesome vehicle. #MoparForLife 😂
The Starcar installers are really clever- they mounted the 4200 controller effectively up side down to normal so the bigger "all on" button is top left. Thats a very good position for your master on. Full kudos. Great install.
Thank you. We're glad to enjoyed our Presentation. Flipping the 4200 Mini made the ergonomics perfect :)
This makes my 2013 SXT Plus look like a go-kart! 😂
saw one yesterday that also had long blue light bars under the doors looked very cool
Tracer styled light arrays work fantastic on Challengers.
Its like an episode of How Its Made that I have an interest in watching! Great work!
Thank you very much :) It's the PD Build episode :)
that's gorgeous I love how you guys put lights in the air intake cut outs 😎
Thank You :) As far as we know, Star Cars is the first to add (4) Micron's into the Hood vents. :)
Amazing install. And a brilliant video from you guys.
Thank you :) We're very glad to hear that.
I would _NOT_ want to be pulled over by that scary Challenger! That beauty is a suspects worse nightmare.
It would be sick if the lights attached to the actual visor and flipped down when you use them
Impressive setup all the way around!!
Thank you :)
Great job! Reminds me of racing games.
Thank You :)
Totally AWESOME install .... I was VERY IMPRESSED !!!!!!!!!!
Right on! :)
Saw a vehicle matching that description last week on I-205 SB at about 1am.
Some badass cop is gonna get this car
Sorry sirennet for so many comments. I saw a video where sirennet does a detective Chevy impala. I was imagining my car at that moment
this vid made me want to buy challenger.... nice vid
Thank you for watching :)
Beautiful car, amazing light setup. I definitely want
to see it responding code to a call
Thank You :)
Just 1 thought: won't the l.e.d.'s in the exhaust housings get damaged from the heat of the exhaust pipes?
It's mounted over the shroud, the pipes themselves can be seen inside. It's a trick they do to make the exhaust seem bigger than it is. No worries about head damage.
Thank you Tyler... That's correct. The Microns won't suffer any heat issues with where they're mounted. The tip ends don't get hot enough to put them into a higher heat range then they've been designed to withstand.
Philip Keller lmao who cares
Is it better and more sturdy to secure a (Havis) laptop mount to the center console, or separate with a bracket to the under seat bolts ? Which do most agencies prefer ?
Either way is very sturdy. The floor mounts are great for use in Vehicles without an equipment console. In our experience, it's really a 50/50 split. For Vehicles where there's often a passenger, affixing the MDT mount to the Console can save a few inches for more knee room.
Very cool car even better with the lighting package
Thank you... Our thoughts exactly :)
Hubba hubba. This is a beautiful install.
Thank you :)
Looks really nice!
Thank You :)
Great install..
What mount did you use for the interior roof bar. I know you said you modified it but what was the original one for? I’m doing this in my 18 Challenger
Amazing job!!!
Glad you like it :)
Great job!!👍🏽👍🏽 I LOVE it !!!😍😍😍😍
Thank you very much.
Question would it be possible to see the install of that white Ford Explorer that was beside this car? Also I was wondering if a unit has a lightbar but doesn't say anything on it is it still considered a marked car?
We can't spoil the future Video's. As far as the proper reference term... That's something that varies based on regulations and opinions.
I've been waiting to see this beauty featured as a build. Is there a full list of equipment for this specific car that expands on what is in the video description?
In the description, we do have a long list of links to the Products that were used for building the Challenger up.
The hell of it is, in just a few years, someone is going to have to go in and rip all that out so it can be sold at auction.
i bought quiet a few used police cars, quiet often they leave a lot of the "harder" to Ac·cess lights inside and simply rip out the wiring
you mean like literally every cop car? lol
Very slick setup. I like the hood scoop LEDs as well as how the other LEDs were mounted. The only thing I am curious about is the choice of interior light bar. I only ask because the takedown lighting seemed a bit dim in comparison to the best takedowns I have ever seen (Federal Signal Valor and Tomar Blade) in terms of brightness.
Thank You :) It's hard to compare the output of Interior based Take-down's and those found in over-head Light-bars. Over-heads will always out-do their Interior counter part as they have more size to them and room for more optic manipulation and heat dispersion. With the industry now offer DUO Interior Light-bars, the output has definitely improved when it comes to illumination.
You put lights in the intake on the hood pure genius man, still can’t catch us tho 😂
Sorrymom or how about not be a shit bag and run from the cops?
Pinellas park police department in Pinellas county Florida has one these challenger patrol cars out on patrol driving around.
Sure wouldn't mind being the cop it's assigned too
We've heard that from a lot of folks :) Agreed :)
love it!
Why don't they convert the gear shifter into a column shifter like in the 14 charger or the 15? I never understood why they kept the original shifter.
Front license plates never help the look but I’m curious what it says on the passenger air vent. Looks like more than just “Challenger” there. Perhaps it says “Challenger Pursuit”
Beautiful
Now that is a good looking Police Dodge Challenger!!
Nice video and gave you a Thumbs Up.
Thanks for watching! :)
@@SIRENNET
Welcome.
How much would it cost to do something like this to a 2015 hellcat Charger
I want to become a cop now. Sadly I'm from Germany and we only have lame ass copcars :D
like bmw?
@@lightweightbaby7959 They're always at about 150-170 PS with a hell of a load in them, not really anything to do a pursuit with
@@lightweightbaby7959 and Mercedes of course 😉
I love the install on this Challenger, BUT it's going to look like a purple blur from a distance with all the red/blue mixed. They should've kept all red to one side and all blue to the other and not had them flashing at the same time. Just my $0.02, it'd be much cleaner that way.
Agreed. Also, with so many of the lights having diminished output due to either smoked lenses or being behind smoked glass, I think the attention getting punch would be greatly increased by grouping and synchronizing the lights to alternate left vs right; the classic wig-wag pattern is still, in my opinion, the most effective pattern ever. The most eye-catching light bar I’ve ever seen split the bar in half and had a simple single flash wig-wag pattern that sped up and slowed down.
It might have just been the video not capturing the actual real life effect, but the headlamp halos seemed completely worthless.
I was actually wondering about that as well.
Or at least flashing alternately - never want to have b/r flashing together side by side
Dam this is really crazy.....An average person wouldn't even have the chance....
It should be noted - the Challenger is not offered in any kind of police package or severe service package. These are retail cars being dressed up and used primarily for undercover or public-service types of police work. The Charger Pursuit is the car engineered and built for daily patrol and chases.
What bracket is used for the visor
I love this guys mad scientist hair
Highway patrol just outside my town has a challenger car, its stopped TONS of people trying to race
Why didn't they just order ions/microns smoked from Whelen instead of smoking them themselves?
For the Challenger, the smoked lens versions weren't quite dark enough to match the colors around them in regards to mounting position. Smoking the lenses in house made for a better blend-in.
that looks sick
Thank You :) It's a killer Car :)
My dad has that exact car except it’s a 2018. Same colors and trim package and everything except he got the 6-speed manual
Awesome
Bending the exhaust tips down to fit light, is the only problem I have. The rest looks slick tho
nice work... i wouldve NEVER put time into installing the 2 lights over the tailpipe... that 1 i don't understand 🤷🏽♂️ but OUTSTANDING JOB NEVERTHELESS
They're a nice help when the truck lids up and the ION's in the back glass get hidden by it :)
SIRENNET fair enough lol🥴🙃🙃
Looks awesome 😎
It's one of our favorites :)
SIRENNET I have a Dodge Challenger, you wanna see it?
@@frankxu3409 Please :)
Where did you get the brackets for the trunk tray?
Star Cars made them.
wow.... just wow😍😍😍
That works :)
Hi, quick question:
What brand is the power distributor? Do you guys it for sale?
It's made by D&R Electronics. Star Cars would be the folks to talk for details on acquiring one. They can be reached through email: Starcars@frontier.com Thanks for watching :)
@@SIRENNET Thank you sir
What would be the cost to have this done?
If you'd like a price quote on the lighting & siren package our Sales Team can help you out. They available through email at: info@sirennet.com or feel free to give them a call (888) 959-0911. On the installation side, that's something you'd need to get in touch with Star Cars LLC on separately (StarCars@frontier.com). Thanks for watching:)
Hellcat time?
Can you image the new gt500 with lights
Great Install guys. I watch everything you guys post.
Only thing that bugged me is the Feniex Controller that's upside down. Was that done for any particular reason?
Thank You. Flipping the Mini over made the 'feel' better for operating buttons without having to look over.
+SIRENNET, oh that makes sense. Cool.
@@SIRENNET why are there two extra stickers on it (air horn and upward arrow)
@@deebaker6871 They correspond to 'Hands-Free'. Just a reminder that by hitting the steering wheel horn button it sounds the air-horn tone and that another tap advances the tone.
I wonder if the lights placed in the air intake area will hamper performance of the engine by impeding proper airflow? The vehicle looks awesome though regardless. Well done !
With the Micron's in the hood openings, the Challengers performance won't be impacted here in the Pacific Northwest. If it was being used in Nevada or Arizona or hitting the Track a lot, then we'd keep them open.
Can anyone tell me what the red equipment mounted (strapped) to the trunk lid at 8:47 is?
P272 Stopsticks. Used to deflate tires in a vehicle pursuit.
@@Gmoney818 yep, you're right. Wasn't familiar with that red round reel. Thru me off. Thanks Bud👍.
Who would know this is a cop. Awesome project
It was a special one :)
I want those light package for my 09 Chevy impala zombie responds team vehicle
Beautiful car! Excellent job from the crew!!
Do you guys do custom jobs?!
Thank You :) They did an outstanding job. Star Cars can offer custom work :) It's fun to do.
When putting the electronics together accordingly, Besides the siren amplifier, radio, and camera system, what basic components are used? Ground rails? Fuse block?
The D&R Electronics Power-Distribution that they use takes care of the grounding and fusing. At 11:11, you'll see this Unit in the center of the Trunk Tray.
+SIRENNET does the power distributor take care of relays as well?
Most of the time yes. Here and there, some relays do need to be added based on the Equipment.
+SIRENNET thank you for the help! Star cars really outdid themselves
It was quite the Project for them :)
Haha my dad has a undercover 2012 Dodge Challenger... Not nearly as clean and well lit as this one tho
Really a stealthy police vehicle. Good job! One thing: Cutting off the sound in the video is not a good solution, so please try to use the sound in the shop or some free background music to fill in the gap between the comments.
Thanks for watching :)
that's pretty snazzy
Indeed it is :)
I've always wondered if lights were installed in the shaker scoop, but it concerns me about air flow blockage though.
Shaker scoop and interfering with it is a no no. On these hoods the openings aren't functional so they make a great home for little light-heads to hide.
@@SIRENNET correction; they are functional. Not used to cool the engine. The old E-body style utilizes those intakes to keep the car on the road at high speeds. I forgot precisely how it works but the wind tunnel tests show it. Throw a bigger spoiler on and you won't need to worry (if you're doing over 120mph).
@@elijahdjali Interesting :)
Not bad if got me a mustang though ;) also i would have left the park siren shut off out cause sometimes the sirens running while in park could be a good thing like if your chasing someone and your backup needs to know where your at. Or if your in a marked car you could show the siren to kids which you can't do with that feature. We have one of thoes in a crown Vic sheriffs unit here.
There's always neutral + hand brake.
I’m sure this is being used in Arizona.
Christopher Cross yeah, wouldn't doubt it; way too many revenue generators operating on those HWYS; one of the worst states i've seen besides OH...
oh and maybe Louisiana... 😆
@@av8rbri473 Virginia anyone
It would be cool if siren would install some amber 4 corner led strobes, 2 amber dash lights at the rear window and 1 amber on the passenger side front window. So I can display my Chevy impala at the zombie crawl in October 2019 and u can tell people that sirennet hooked me up. 😬
ballpark idea how much this system cost ?
As courtesy we don't reveal costs.
Is legal?
If you watch Live PD at least one agency in SC already has Challengers and even a Camaro marked on patrol.
Richland County, SC.
Where can I buy this :o
This particular ones not on the market... but if you we're to pick one up, we'll be glad to help with the transformation :)
will y'all do one with all blue setup
If one rolls in wanting an all Blue configuration, we'll be glad to build it up :)
+SIRENNET oh ok
super cool!!!!!!
Thank You :)
😭😭😭I want to be a american cop!It's fantastic!👏👏👏
This is when you want to umdercover from racer on street
Seen one in florida today.
To many small lights. I would have done a traffic advisor in the back window, wigwags in the front and back/w alternating r/b , 2 led grille lights. And a deck light along with the already visor lights. And then running board lights along the side
Very nice car, whats the siren?
It's one of our favorites!🌟 The siren is a Star/SVP SS651. sirennet.com/star-signal-vehicle-100-watt-remote-siren.html Thanks for watching!
I have a 2014 Suburu Legacy Sport that needs lights. Cough cough.....LOL
Have you watched this one before? ruclips.net/video/jv31x227n0w/видео.html
@@SIRENNET Nice. I'm trying to keep from putting holes in anything. Nice setup though.
Wow!! You should propose this vehicule and your service at the Sureté du Québec (Canada). Would be great here on Québec highway.
la SQ est trop broke pour avoir une auto comme ca 😂😂
Thank You for the suggestion- We'll look into that. Be sure to check out the Charger we presented last week.
They should get a Dodge Challenger Hellcat police car and call it the "Hellcop".
Bet I got the 2000th like
Which police department was this challenger putfitted for?
As courtesy to the agency whom its used by, we can't specify that. We do thank you for watching :)
Damnnnnnnnnnnnnnn sweetttttttt
All show and no go. Use a SRT Hellcat next time. I bought a 1970 Plymouth Fury III 440-Magnum Police Special at the Washington State surplus auction for $350 in 1979. Worth every dollar.
I find it hard to believe that a group of guys working on cars every day work in such silence.
Just fitting out vehicles on my own results in a lot of swearing and shouting.
I would BET that on any "normal" workday, there are GOOD TUNES blasting in the background , in the shop at StarCars
wheres the antenna for the radio?
The Antenna is mounted on the interior rear deck. It's been painted over black to hide behind the tinted rear window. It works great and helps maintain the low profile that's needed.
@@SIRENNET The Boyz at Star Car think of EVERY DETAIL, ..... :) :) :) :) :)
