This is the city....Los Angeles, California.....I love Dragnet. Jack Webb in my humble opinion was perhaps one of the greatest Producers radio or television ever had. He believed in realism and gave Los Angles Policemen their due credit. Keep up the good work Steve.
You are so right about Jack Webb. Another interesting think about his production company Mark VII Limited, that it' was his arms you see all dirty and wet hammering out the insignia with the mallet at the end of his TV productions.
Omg just reading those words.....Webb was a fantastic booster of l.a. and law and order. He would die seeing how dems have corrupted the government. And destroyed the city forever. Trillions would have to be spent building DOZENS of mental hospitals and VAST desert prisons a'la joe Arizona sheriff guy. Dragnet and Adam 12; 2 of my all time favs...thanks for your great Posts Steve!! Steve I came to LA twice on business; i LOVE visiting but I could NEVER live in a place THAT big!!
I love traveling around with you Steve!! I live in the middle of America, K.C.MO., and I am NOT a traveler at all, and barely leave my home!! So I am so appreciative of you and others so I can see places and beautiful cemeteries all over!!! Thanks
Love Jack Webb and all the work he created. I've even found most of the radio episodes online. His first 'partner' on the radio show was "Ben Romero", played by Barton Yarborough. Yarborough died suddenly in December 1951, and the next episode of Dragnet called "The Big Sorrow" told of Ben Romero's sudden passing in character. Yarborough is also buried in Forest Lawn.
Wow! That's been in a lot. I do recognize it. I used to watch Dragnet late at night. I could definitely see how being an early bird would be a benefit . I dont think I have seen the sculpture though. The fountain was really cool. Love the view from up top! Love the sort of old school detective music you put with this.

So much of L.A. looks so familiar because of all the movies and TV shows, it's like American's hometown. And my God! Jack Webb's gravestone is so Jack Webb, just the facts, I love it! Nice job Steve, thanks.
My Dad was a LEO, so we always watched Dragnet and Adam 12 my favorite was EMERGENCY, I grew up to be a Medic and worked with the Ambulance Service in the county I grew up in! Another great tour, thanks Steve
What a beautiful old building! Nice to finally see some of it from the inside and the observation tower. Dragnet was my all time favorite show. I still watch it once in awhile on RUclips. Yikes! You must have no fear to drive in a city that big.
Must visit city hall again. It is a gorgeous building that really takes me back in time. If the walls could talk.....what stories. The two filming locations that come to mind are: city hall "Speed" and the 3rd street tunnel "The Dark Knight Rises". Also, thank you Steve, for mentioning the radio show "Dragnet". In the evening, I've been listening to and enjoying a lot of the old radio shows and will definitely be giving Dragnet a listen tonight.
Thank you for posting another great icon of the past. Shows forever remembered and can't be duplicated. I loved Dragnet nothing fancy just the facts. Another great show for me was Highway Patrol with Broderick Crawford. Thank you again
Gosh, I had forgotten about that show. Another memorable one. Unfortunately, Crawford is buried in New York. Not sure when or if I will be getting back there. Thanks, Phyllis!
Awesome tribute to Jack Webb and awesome video of LA City Hall. Jack Webb was the creator along with Robert A. Cinder of Adam 12 and Emergency. I talked with Robert Fuller (Dr. Brackett on Emergency) few times and I remember Robert Fuller tell that he was called into Jack Webb's office and told Robert that he (Jack) wanted Robert to play a emergency room doctor and Robert stated that he was not interested because he was used to do western shows and that's what he really wanted to do, but Jack wasn't a no from Robert, so Robert took the role. Rampart General Hospital was represented by Harbor General Hospital, located in Torrance is now Harbor General Hospital was renamed as Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in 1978. County of Los Angeles Fire Department Station 127 was the filming location of the station 51 for engine and squad pulling out of the station and shots of returning to the station and shots of the front station. In 1999 the title was transferred, and Squad 51 was then donated to the Los Angeles County Fire Museum in Bellflower, California. Both engines used in the show are in the museum too. I was present for the 1999 reunion of Emergency and have returned for other reunion events prior to 2007. The driver of the fire engine (Mike Stoker) was an actual firemen and he held AGS card so he could be in the show and drive the engine. The 1st Captain on the show was an actual Captain and he had retired from LACOFD, then that is when they brought Michael Norell in as Captain. Sam Lanier (uncredited voice of dispatcher) was an actual LACOFD dispatcher and his voice was normally who you heard when the station received dispatching at the station or heard on the radio conversations with dispatcher. LACOFD Fire Station 127, located at 2049 East 223rd Street (between Wilmington Ave and Alameda St, with the 405 freeway visible in the background in wide shots) in Carson, California, last I knew, they will offer tours of the stations and you the break/lounge room, bunk rooms and station office and last time I was there, they still had some pictures of the tv show in the lounge room. Thanks for the outstanding video and thanks for sharing.

STEVE I REMEMBER WATCHING DRAGNET WITH JACK WEBB AND HARRY MORGAN IT WAS A GREAT SHOW LOVE ITS I APPRECIATE WHAT YOU DO ON THESES VIDEO THANKS STEVE💛💜💙
Loved seeing city hall, a beautiful building that I will try to visit. It's been in countless fims and TV. Perry Mason, Adam 12, Dragnet. Iconic I'm a night owl. There's little traffic in the wee hours and I do some grocery shopping then sometimes I meet up with vampire friends. Thanks Steve
Thanks again Steve for another great your. His stone is kind of like he was. Kind of plain but also kind of stern looking at the same time. Nothing fancy, simple. No glitz or glimmer. Just as, JUST THE FACTS, MA'AM ! 😎. Dan
I've heard the Disney Concert Hall almost got taken down due to the reflective nature of its steel shell. It was reflecting too much light and heat into traffic and either causing collisions or near misses. After enough complaints and some research, the city told Disney to do something pronto about it or lose it. Disney called in some architects/engineers who studied the building and concluded that altering the exterior by dulling the finish would stop the reflections. It took some time, and Disney execs were a bit worried the alterations would fail, but it turned out it was the right way to go.
Wow, I hadn't heard that, but I remember thinking how dull it looked this time compared to the last time I was there. I just thought it was the early morning shade. That's a shame, it was so beautiful in its original state, but the glare from some of these buildings can be blinding, so it makes sense. Thanks for sharing that, Walter!
Excellent Video . I will never make it to California . So the Tour of the Observation Deck was really nice . I can just imagine all the Movie and TV Stars that have been in around that building . And i was Fan of Dragnet from the 50s . So seeing Jacks final resting place was a very nice touch . Your Channel is always informative and done out of respect . Thank You .
This is so cool I love the elevator and is it just me or does the sculpture at the beginning of the video look like one of the space shuttles. Thank you so much I’ve been to California twice in my lifetime and I can’t wait to go again
Terrific!! I'm saving this one to view numerous times. The observation trip is a real treat. So interesting and educational. Great job, Steve-o. As always. You need a show on A&E. :))))
Great TV show, my wife and I recently discovered it on MeTV. We had never seen an episode until several months ago and we flew thru the entire series (since MeTV shows 2 episodes a day). We were a little disappointed that there were not more from the 60's series.
Great job as always Steve. Pat yourself on your back. You are indeed a film director in your own universe. A career aspiration realized perhaps? Straight A's! Thanks again.
Enjoyed the city view and historic buildings. Somehow reminded me of films I've watched like Chinatown, L.A. Confidential, Devil in a Blue Dress. Thanks, Steve.
I remember Dragnet. As a family, we use to watch it quite often. Jack Webb was another actor who didn't get credit due. He was also a memorable supporting player in Sunset Blvd.
Thanks for another great vlog, Steve! Another Jack Webb produced show, Emergency! co-starred Jack's ex wife, actress/singer Julie London, and her husband, songwriter/actor Bobby Troup who wrote the songs Daddy & (Get your kicks on) Route 66, the latter which was a hit for Nat King Cole.
London is interred in the same cemetery as Webb. I was going to mention it, but the video was getting too long, so I decided not to. I will probably do an Emergency vlog and mention it there. Thanks for sharing this with us, Mary!
Hey! Great to learn and see all this. I have never been inside City Hall and had no idea about the park. Loved the background music. Of coarse I have to quote, “ Just the facts Mam, just the facts.”
Hey Steve this was really cool. I love how that building is on the badge of the LAPD officers. I can't believe all the years you lived over there in SoCal you never knew of Grand Park. I think that's true of many people in their hometowns. We just need to get out more often. LOL. Have you ever been to a Dodgers game? That would be cool to get a look at Chavez Ravine. Thanks again and keep them coming!
The last Dodgers game I went to was back in the 1980s, I think. I'll have to add it to my list. It is weird how we go around the world to sightsee and then don't bother to sightsee in our own back yard. The grass is always greener, I guess. Thanks, Alexander!
This is so cool thank you very much I will probably never get to see it in person but this particular video I really appreciate because I’m a big fan of Dragnet and Jack Webb❤️😎🇺🇸
Jack Webb’s grave is so plain for someone who had so many accomplishments in life. Not only was Dragnet one of the first police series that I watched but he was a star on the silver screen as a drill instructor in the Marine Corps (D.I.). I believe he also produced and directed many television programs during he lifetime. Great man!
You're right. Before R. Lee Ermey was Gunnery Sergeant Hartman in the 1987 movie -'Full Metal Jacket,' there was Jack Webb as Gunnery Sergeant Moore in the 1957 movie - 'The D.I.' Also, Darren McGavin and Earl Holliman play Marine D.I.'s in the 1970 Jan-Michael Vincent movie - 'Tribes.'
Great video thank you for sharing I appreciate all the videos that you share on the media with everyone...... Dragnet was one of my favorites shows I used to watch it all the time and I still watched three ones never get tired of it...... From Pennsylvania
Jack lived in The Sierra Towers in West Hollywood at the time of his death. Jack was given a near police officer funeral or a police officers funeral by the L. A. P. D. because they were happy with how Adam 12 was produced, it was great PR for the Dept and many men and women became police officers because of the show. On a sad note, Jack's daughter Stacy whom he had with ex wife Julie London was killed in a crash with a C. H. P. car at the age of 46 on Sept. 27, 1996.
That is sad about his daughter. I lived in West Hollywood at the time of his death, but don't remember hearing about it at the time. Thanks for sharing all of this with us, Robert.
@@TheGraveyardChannel i lived in Los Feliz at the time, but heard about Jack's passing from the pilot of the plane from Las Vegas to Burbank. The pilot must have been a Dragnet fan?
It's my understanding that Jack Webb was planning a third Dragnet TV series. Sadly, he died before he could make it happen. Also, he was John Landis' first choice to play Dean Wormer in Animal House. Webb turned him down. He was known to have a great sense of humor, but had none where his image was concerned. A fine example of his humor was the Clean Copper Clappers sketch he did with Johnny Carson.
He was.Kent McCord told me he was going to be his partner and 13 scripts have been written.Landis wanted Webb for Animal House but he felt it would not work out.
Thanks so much for the tour. Extra special that you are a native of LA. I am a big fan of Dragnet and have seen every episode of 1967-70 series. Jack Webb was a unique innovator and had a certain niche when it came not only to developing TV series but radio programs as well. Is Parker Centre still around?
I just googled the Parker Center and it looks like it's going to be demolished. I completely forgot about it or I would have checked when I was there. I parked across the street, but didn't realize it! Thanks, CR!

I APPRECIATE WHAT YOU DO ON THESES VIDEO THANKS STEVE💛💜💙
thanks, elaine!
Off hours are definitely the best and you never know who you're going to run into :-) Thanks, Andy!
Thanks again Steve for another great your. His stone is kind of like he was. Kind of plain but also kind of stern looking at the same time. Nothing fancy, simple. No glitz or glimmer. Just as, JUST THE FACTS, MA'AM ! 😎. Dan
LOL, good observation. Thanks, Marge!
No tricks nor illusions either, if it is not good enough!
Makes me think of LA Law. One of my fave TV series from the 1980’s. 🛄📺 love the music. Makes me think of a film noir.
I loved watching dragnet.
I really love your videos so very glad i found them thank you for all you do for us
I'm glad you found them too. Thanks, mwoody!
Another outstanding video . 👍👍
Thank You .
Glad you liked it. Thanks, Dave!
I glad you are showing some of downtown Los Angeles. I am learning so much and I grew up in the Los Angeles area. Thank you very much.
It’s always fun to explore downtown LA. I always learn a lot too. Thanks for watching Stacey 😊👍
This is awesome. I saw all the color Dragnet episodes. Catching up with the black and White Dragnet episodes.
Classics! Thanks, Carol!
Another very interesting video! Thanks!
Yes I can watch them over and over again😎👍
Thank You For Sharing Steve..This Was Great ! Loved It
Thanks, Shy!
Very interesting to see the cityscape of L.A. That's an awesome view from that building.
This is so cool I love the elevator and is it just me or does the sculpture at the beginning of the video look like one of the space shuttles. Thank you so much I’ve been to California twice in my lifetime and I can’t wait to go again
LOL, that sculpture has been referred to as many things over the years. I agree. It does look like it belongs in out space :-) Thanks, Eve!
Terrific!! I'm saving this one to view numerous times. The observation trip is a real treat. So interesting and educational. Great job, Steve-o. As always. You need a show on A&E. :))))
LOL, I'm happy with my RUclips channel :-) Glad you liked it, Steven!
Loved this visit to the city hall and showing sites around the city. I remember seeing an old movie and Jack Webb was one of the criminal gang in it.
Steve. You just gave me the bug to visit City Hall. It's something I 've never done either. Thanks for the great VLOG.
It's definitely worth the trip. Thanks, Stan!
Great TV show, my wife and I recently discovered it on MeTV. We had never seen an episode until several months ago and we flew thru the entire series (since MeTV shows 2 episodes a day). We were a little disappointed that there were not more from the 60's series.
great video sir thank you for doing this one this was my fav show when i was a kid
Thanks for watching and sharing that, Brandon!
What an impressive view. City Hall looks like an Art Deco structure from the time it was built.
yes, it's a pretty impressive building and view!
Another great walk!! Watched as a kid with my family..stay safe.love n hugs.
Great tour im a la native 62 yrs old now i have to go good work

The view from city hall is beautiful!!
Thank you so much for this video. I absolutely love LA. Wanted to live there since the 70's. Never got to tho. Love your videos.
It is a great place. Thanks, Karen!
Great job as always Steve. Pat yourself on your back. You are indeed a film director in your own universe. A career aspiration realized perhaps? Straight A's! Thanks again.
Jack typified a time that is long gone.
Enjoyed the city view and historic buildings. Somehow reminded me of films I've watched like Chinatown, L.A. Confidential, Devil in a Blue Dress. Thanks, Steve.
Yeah, this building really takes you back in time. Thanks, FL!
Thank you Steve for another informative as well as entertaining video. Take care always
Thanks, Elliott!
Steve's Trips Down Memory Lane Looking forward to your next mining for movie locations
Awesome video Steve! Loved the info of Jack Webb, didn't know a lot of the info about him! Have a great day!!
Thanks Victoria and you too!
Great video! Dragnet, Adam-12, and Emergency! are still among by favorite shows.
"Just the facts, Ma'am" Great show.
Thanks Steve, your videos are always so fabulous!
Thanks, Peg!
Love the music in the background with the art deco design of the building it's real 30s film noir vibe
That city hall is beautiful thank you so much for sharing with us
I remember Dragnet. As a family, we use to watch it quite often. Jack Webb was another actor who didn't get credit due. He was also a memorable supporting player in Sunset Blvd.
Enjoyed this walk too!! Stay safe...love n hugs..
Thank you for taking us along …very cool 👍🏼
Great video Steve… ❤️ the nostalgia🙏
Thanks, Michael!
Love Dragnet. It was a good show.
Wow what a place. Great tour.
Thanks Steve. Take care. 🤠👋👍✨
Greetings from San antonio
thanks, lora!
Hey! Great to learn and see all this. I have never been inside City Hall and had no idea about the park.
Loved the background music. Of coarse I have to quote, “ Just the facts Mam, just the facts.”
Thanks for watching and sharing with us, D!
Glad you liked it Jade 😊👍
Jack Webb’s grave is so plain for someone who had so many accomplishments in life. Not only was Dragnet one of the first police series that I watched but he was a star on the silver screen as a drill instructor in the Marine Corps (D.I.). I believe he also produced and directed many television programs during he lifetime. Great man!
I think he also created Adam 12 and Emergency. Thanks for sharing that, Almonte!
Another great video! Very informative
Thanks, Abbie!
Great video thank you for sharing I appreciate all the videos that you share on the media with everyone...... Dragnet was one of my favorites shows I used to watch it all the time and I still watched three ones never get tired of it...... From Pennsylvania
Glad you enjoyed it Veronica 😊👍
Google Jack Webb at his Sierra Towers apartment and there is a less than 2 min clip of it under construction, with Jack in some pics.
How funny. A true fan. Cool!
I will, thanks!
I remember watching Dragnet loved it as a kid
It's my understanding that Jack Webb was planning a third Dragnet TV series. Sadly, he died before he could make it happen. Also, he was John Landis' first choice to play Dean Wormer in Animal House. Webb turned him down. He was known to have a great sense of humor, but had none where his image was concerned. A fine example of his humor was the Clean Copper Clappers sketch he did with Johnny Carson.
Wow, I didn't know any of that. Thanks for sharing it with us MHB!
I saw the Clean Copper Clapper capper. Geez it's funny. You can see it on RUclips. You'd never think that's Jack Webb
He was.Kent McCord told me he was going to be his partner and 13 scripts have been written.Landis wanted Webb for Animal House but he felt it would not work out.
I wonder how animal house would have turned out if Jack Webb took the part of wormer.
J😢e Fr 👍🏾day/Jack Webb,W👍🏾ll Be Sadly 😢😢 And Greatly M👍🏾ssed/R.👍🏾.P./Sgt.Fr 👍🏾day😢
LA is one big filming location I guess. Love the video!
Yes and it's a bit surreal at times. Thanks, Wendy!
Do you see any filming going on when you drive through LA?
Once in a while.
Reminds me of the old days when we visited the Empire State Building. Old, rough, no one there and just go up.
Thanks, CR!
Thank you for this upload, I will never be able to go to LA but thanks to you, it feels like I'm a visitor. Greetings from the Netherlands.
That's what I love about RUclips vlogs. You really can see the world and feel like you are there. Thanks PE!
@@TheGraveyardChannel Thank you, I love your video vlogs they are so natural and honest. But you are also enthousiast in sharing the gems of your finds. Love the city hall very old beautifull and weltaken care of. And even if I cannot come to LA it just might encourage others just to do that in order to see for them selves. I hope you keep on showing your world through the camera.
Very cool video ! Im still a fan of dragnet and Adam 12
Great shows and very influencial on shows that came later. Thanks, Ronald!
Thanks for a great tour, your page is great!
thanks, C!
