They're a great choice. I'm a big believer in modern all weather tires, mostly because I'm too lazy/cheap for snow tires on winter rims and/or changing them twice a year. These tires are competitive with many dedicated snow tires on snow. Way better than any so-called all season tire.

I put these on my wifes 2019 highlander hybrid and totally agree: they are fantastic driving and performing tires in all weathers and precipitation types. DOWNSIDE: their rolling resistance is definitely higher than factory tires and initially we saw 3-5 mpg loss then after 30k miles on ours they continue to take a 2-3 mpg loss. I could noticeable feel the resistance in my throttle foot just like the time a tire shop sold my non low rolling resistance tires for my Volt (even though i asked) and after 100 miles a took the tires back. Just something to be aware of, you're giving up efficiency for a much better performing compound and tread. For my wife's vehicle and usage that loss is acceptable for better safety in my opinion.
Yes! you do get MPG loss, also your braking distance is further than usual because the V-design that the center of the tire has less contact with the road surface. Everything else is well above average. Depending on how you drive and type of road grade-composition, they should give you 60K miles before replacing.
my girlfriend uses these for winter tires and puts her low rolling-resistance tires back on for summer. I know they're an "all weather tire" but with a tesla every last mile counts, but the safety is without question.
Good review. There are several other tires that are known to collect small rocks in their tread. One is the General Altimax RT43, which is also a highly rated tire. I guess that's a small sacrifice to make for a great tire.
I just bought these for my Mazda 3 and drove across country from Ohio to Colorado. WOW! Is all i can say. My car feels like its glued to the road and soooo quiet!
These tires just got me through 18 inches (45 cm) of dry snow that recently fell in Victoria, BC. Awesome tires! True, I had to use the AWD lock on my 2019 Santa Fe in places. @@rediop4309 You would have to break the tires off the wheels and remount and balance them in order to cross them because they are directional. You can't run them backwards. So technically you can cross them but not unless you own a tire machine and balancer or pay a shop to do the extra work.
Interesting point about driving on a steel surface on a bridge with these tires. The reason you don’t get the wobble or shimmy is that the tread design is perpendicular to the steel grooves on the road surface so the tire treads don’t “fall into” the steel surface Thinking of getting these tires for my 2002 Lexus ES300 next year when my tires wear out.
Just bought a set of these for my 2019 Acadia Denali. These replace the original Michelin Premier LTX's. Day after having them installed took a 200 mile trip noticed they seemed to ride smoother. Two-day later we had snow and I noticed the were great in it. As for the stones I did notice the feel of the rubber is more pliable than the Premier LTX. Probably the reason the rocks stick in the tread.
I had on my previous car CrossClimate+ and after 30.000 miles I was about halfway through their product life. I wasn't driving that carefully, sometimes I would push the car a bit, but I have to mention that I was rotating the tyres front to rear each autumn. The car I was driving was front wheel drive
The rain performance is amazing they are also good in the snow as well. Everything he said is pretty spot on. Even down to the cold tire pressure. That’s exactly where I keep mine and that’s the exact same experience I had with him wearing when I ran it at the recommended pressure The rain performance is crazy.my rav is gas model only and yes I have lost probably 1-2 mpg but that is totally acceptable for the performance trade-offs it seems like most hybrid or electric cars lose in the 3 to 4 range mpg or equivalent
Looking for new tires for my 2017 Escape Titanium. Time for new tires. I never liked my Michelin Latitude Tour HP's that came on the Escape. I hear all the road noise since I got the vehicle. Not good on snow in Chicago. Highly rated but I never thought much of them. I been asking around and keep being refed to these tires as the best for an Escape. I'm not thrilled about the tread pattern and I know rocks will be getting stuck but I'm more interested in the quietest ride possible and these might be the ones. Thank you for this video.
Awesome review, interesting observation about them holding rocks.i wouldn't have thought about that. I just recommended these for my sister as opposed to a dedicated winter set. People seem to really like these.
Thanks for the great video! We have a new SUV that get 40 mpg and an 8-yr old SUV that gets 25 mpg. When it is dry my wife drives the new SUV. When it is raining, she drives the old one because it has these tires. When it is time for new tires on the new SUV, we'll be getting these.
I desperately wanted these tyres but the price for a set of 4 is more than I used to pay for a car. I settled for primacy 4 instead. I think anything cheaper is probably false economy. I'm really happy with then. Wear grip and noise is good.
Thank you for posting. I live in the Northeast and am looking for tires to replace the Continental Cross-Contacts that the car came with. I'm going to order these.
Put these on my wife's rear drive Genesis sedan in anticipation of snow here in the northeast and we got none to speak of. Good thing we don't have to change them. Just realizing the treadwear rating is 640? That's incredible! probably the last set of tires we put on the Genesis.
Thanks for the video. I'm going to buy new tires for my 2010 Lexus LS460. Very undecided and I'm having trouble deciding which company to go with. I have had Hankook and Turanza . Thank you for your advice.
Thanks for sharing. I am a MIchelin fun too. I have always used LXT on my jeep 2001 xj. They last incredibly not less than 4 years. Great Review, I have just bought 4 of these and they will be fitted tomorrow afternoon. I Live in the Lake District here in the UK beautiful area to live but we get a lot of rain which is one of the reasons I bought these tires, really looking forward to trying them out.
How about stopping (braking) power? Good , fast stop in a tight/ emergency situation? What about the rocks getting caught in the grooves? Can that negatively affect performance? Thanks
I have them on my 2021 RAV4 Prime. Absolutely love these tires. Slight drop in mileage, but well worth it for the inclement weather handling and safety.
Perfect timing for this video. I also have a 2021 Rav4 and will need new tires next year. I've been interested in the CC2s. I think I'll give them a try, due to your video. Thanks !
I replaced the Bridgestone Ecopia's seam that I'm getting better milage and are quieter. But as you mentioned the bridge, overpass and highway imperfections seam to unfase them. The pine point steering takes the term of (turn on a dime to a new level) and I had Hydro edge on my Grand Marquis the car before the RAV4 and those where similar.
You’re claiming 36PSI is the best air pressure for the CrossClimate2 tires. Can you provide the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid recommended pressure so that we might make a similar adjustment relative to our car’s recommendations? For example, EV manufacturers suggest pressure’s higher than 36PSI. Thanks!
Door placard on my 21 Toyota Rav 4 Hybrid says 33psi . I ran at that pressure and noticed that the sides of the tire were wearing faster than the middle so I brought them up to 36 psi cold tire pressure and they are wearing evenly.. Hope this helps
Nice that you mention you're in Portland (PDX). I'm also in Portland metro. Hi neighbor! I'm looking to these or CC3s to replace my current tires when they are old (still have a lot of life on them).
I'm considering these next for my 2014 Honda Crosstour, although right now I'm running General Altimax tires that I am very happy with in all weather conditions.
Sounds like these tires are “ Rock” Stars! We own them too. Great video especially on the tire pressure levels. I just assume the door pressure was correct for every tire of the same size.
I don’t have the CC2’s (probably will be my next tires) but I agree with you on the extra couple of pounds of pressure. My recommended on my CRV is 33lbs, but I have found 35 to be the “sweet spot” when driving.
i would not take "rock harvesting" as a drawback in winter though. Cause they can function as little tyre studs and help you on icy roads to get more grip :) Everything has its point of view.
Thanks, interestingly not sure if works like my studded HAKKAPALIETA S.? Stability & control would, seem “” erratic”” on stones in treads:: esp miles of black ice/ icey spots…
Great video, thanks. There are a couple of good videos explaining why Michelin chose this thread pattern (it's basically the only way to go if you want to have an advanced tire like CC or CC2).
Thanks for sharing your experience. I also own a Rav 4 and not very happy with the stock firestones, particularly in the snow. Can you please share your experience with the mpg drop if any?
Milage drops off at around 3 to 5 miles per gallon and comes back to normal after 5000 miles. Also inflate tires to 36 psi while tires are cold. Hope that helps
good review, thanks. I live in an area where it commonly gets to 100 to 110 degrees in the summer/fall. What's the hottest day(s) you've driven using these tires and what is your opinion?
Plan on getting them whenever the hell I get my RAV4, the wait for an allocation is getting frustrating. Anyway, I plan on getting the OEM tires replaced right after I leave the dealership.
I needed to replace my old Michelin MXV’s, the only AAA traction tire I’ve ever had. They no longer sell them so I had to pick a different tire. I drive a 2010 VW Jetta sport wagon. I’ve never had snow tires or all seasons on my front wheel drive car as it snows seldom where I live but when it does I’m always really nervous driving in snow/icy conditions. I drive mostly highway miles with some in town driving. I’ve noted that initially my car did drop mpg about 1-1.3 miles but now the tire has worn in a bit it’s back to within 0.5 mpg. They grip very well in wet and slippery roads. My car rides better and these tires have a secure feel that gives better control. The most important feature is of course peace of mind knowing you’ve got some gnarly tires between you and the road!!
@Simone Schultz How about stopping (braking) power? Good , fast stop in a tight/ emergency situation? What about the rocks getting caught in the grooves? Can that negatively affect performance? Thanks
Im ready to replace mine on a rav4 awd and i keep getting flats where it easily pickup screws nails and fence staples. One of my tires already has 3 patches in total I’ve gotten like 6 or 7 other then that i get like one mpg less a bit noisy at low speeds like crawling speeds and the rock thing too, exceptional in everything else
Just got my 2nd set. They are a little noisy but a great tire. I got 65k of the 1st set, warranted for 60K. Just stay on top of regular rotation schedule.
On a 2017 Ridgeline these tires stuck like glue in wet and freezing conditions. They allow for very consistent predictable driving experience in all weather conditions. Mine were a little noisy though.
I'm from Quebec & winter tires are mandatory. I went to tire shop, I had a discussion about getting new winter while waiting the car to be mounted with AS3+(AS4 out of stock, but meh. Ain't waiting). He shared to me that the cross climate are not good in icy condition. He even when as far to claim the Pilot Sport AS perform better on ice in that specific condition. Although, he claimed they're very good in slush unlike the Xi2.
Had this on my rav4 adventure, amazing in the rain and do very good in snow, also comfortable, but i get like one mpg less and they pick up nails and screw so easy i had to repair my tires like 8 time during the life of this tire
Great Review! I own the exact same vehicle.. what do you use to shine your rims? mine don't look quite that shinny.. Mine still has the OEM Dunlop Grandtrek's.. I'm going to wear them down some more ( only 7K on mine ) before I switch to the CC2's.. pretty quiet huh? I don't do snow.. and we only get about 25 days ( if that ) of rain here in Cali.. so, I'm looking for quiet.. smoothness.. and low rolling resistance. Seems like these check all the boxes..
I am at around 40k now and still quiet and they track very well also. My suggestion for air pressure is 36psi cold. Seems to wear good and good milage as I am getting 40+ mpg overall. Thanks for the comment
if these are really quiet like you say, i might get this when its time to change my tires. Im thinking about either this or the bridgestone turanza quiettrack
These in my opinion are quieter than the bridgestone turanza qauiettrack as I have had a set of them on my 2016 rav4 hybrid and was not impressed and they did not make it to 80000 mile waranty
Agreed, love mine on Tesla Model 3 RWD... previous OEM tires, Michelin MXM4 Primacy, only lasted like 25-30k (3.5yrs) before went from 8/32" to ~3/32" and got new before rainy season. Normally, EVs eat tires... but the CC2's, I've now had for a year/12k miles, and.. only down to just under 9/32" from 10/32"!! At this rate, I can go another 5+yrs maybe?! Huge improvement. (Maybe I'm also launching a bit less, now that had the car longer and less demo to friends ;-) ) No real efficiency or noise impact I could tell.. notably louder on rougher road surfaces, but nice and quiet on smooth roads... haven't been able to test in snow yet. Other folks really love the Pilot Sport All Season 4's, if you want maybe more performant summer but still great in rain, almost as good in winter... these are supposed to be near winter-tire ability, but also very good summer dry/wet
Thanks for the review, I just got a set myself. per you recommendation I'm also running them at 36psi cold on a ford Edge. Have you checked to see what psi goes up to at full running temp. Do you keep upping the psi to 36 as weather temp get colder in the winter. I'm northern IN.
I read they're not as comfortable and quiet as the better Pirellis which have almost as good traction. Less than optimum comfort and noise are noticed all the time which is why many buy a Lexus.
Just installed these tires have driven around 500 miles on it. Positives: Good traction in rain / snow. Negatives: Noisy especially at higher speeds (70+ mph) and lower miles per gallon. Need some more time to figure out if this is just the new tire break in period or this is the new normal.
I just ordered these for my small Clio V. Not sure how they'll do, different tire pressure compared to what Renault wants from the tires, they were marked as compatible on the website (at 195/55 and 16 inch diameter that is) so I'm not sure if there'll be a problem, ideally I just need better tires in general, so I guess I'll see. these seem to get good reviews and good wear.
These tires feel mushy on center and don’t turn well at speed on dry summer roads. I don’t see lots of comments on this issue from others so maybe it’s just the width of my CC 2s on my big heavy Chrysler 300?

Interesting point about driving on a steel surface on a bridge with these tires. The reason you don’t get the wobble or shimmy is that the tread design is perpendicular to the steel grooves on the road surface so the tire treads don’t “fall into” the steel surface
Thinking of getting these tires for my 2002 Lexus ES300 next year when my tires wear out.
Greatly impressed by CC+ tires. Good in snow and fantastic on dry and wet summer pavement. Seem to be wearing well going into winter number 3.
CC2's are supposed to be even better than CC+, especially re snow handling and efficiency/noise
I just ordered these for my new Lexus Gx 460
Thanks for sharing your experience! Appreciate your passion and time.
Thanks for sharing. I am a MIchelin fun too. I have always used LXT on my jeep 2001 xj. They last incredibly not less than 4 years. And I am in the process of buying a BMW 325 i 2004 and will see if I can use this differt thread of the tires with it. Highly appreciated for making the time to share your positive experience. Blessings.
Great Review, I have just bought 4 of these and they will be fitted tomorrow afternoon. I Live in the Lake District here in the UK beautiful area to live but we get a lot of rain which is one of the reasons I bought these tires, really looking forward to trying them out.
I run these on my 2018 Alfa Stelvio. Handling is excellent, and wear is as well.
How about stopping (braking) power? Good , fast stop in a tight/ emergency situation? What about the rocks getting caught in the grooves? Can that negatively affect performance? Thanks
Good review. I was considering these tires and based off of this information and other reviews, I'm sold.
Thanks for the update Vince, just purchased them for my x5 bmw.
I have them on my 2021 RAV4 Prime. Absolutely love these tires. Slight drop in mileage, but well worth it for the inclement weather handling and safety.
What is the speed rating on your tires? I’m debating between H and V rating for my CX5 as I’m looking for more comfortable ride.
H
Perfect timing for this video. I also have a 2021 Rav4 and will need new tires next year. I've been interested in the CC2s. I think I'll give them a try, due to your video. Thanks !
Ford Escape for daughter, very much considering these to replace. Thanks for your review.
Nice! I’m in the Pacific Northwest too, and I have the Lexus equivalent(RX450h) of your Toyota, hybrid too. I’m getting these tires soon, so thank you
I replaced the Bridgestone Ecopia's seam that I'm getting better milage and are quieter.

Thanks! I’ll figure 9-10 percent…
Nice that you mention you're in Portland (PDX). I'm also in Portland metro. Hi neighbor!
I'm looking to these or CC3s to replace my current tires when they are old (still have a lot of life on them).
Getting these tossed on to my Accord tomorrow. Look forward to it
How did it go? Any mileage reduction?
I'm considering these next for my 2014 Honda Crosstour, although right now I'm running General Altimax tires that I am very happy with in all weather conditions.
Sounds like these tires are “ Rock” Stars! We own them too. Great video especially on the tire pressure levels. I just assume the door pressure was correct for every tire of the same size.
My experience has been identical!!! They definitely love to eat rocks, but the performance is very impressive in wet and dry conditions.
Best tire I have ever owned. In the Midwest where the climate swings rapidly - these are the king.
I got these on my 4 x 4 Fiat Panda. Great tires for snow although like yourself get Little Rock’s in the tread
I don’t have the CC2’s (probably will be my next tires) but I agree with you on the extra couple of pounds of pressure. My recommended on my CRV is 33lbs, but I have found 35 to be the “sweet spot” when driving.
Thank you Vincent. Very informative👍. Thank you
i would not take "rock harvesting" as a drawback in winter though.
@@opera93 he never claimed it was better than actual studs?
Great video, thanks. There are a couple of good videos explaining why Michelin chose this thread pattern (it's basically the only way to go if you want to have an advanced tire like CC or CC2).
Thanks for sharing your experience. I also own a Rav 4 and not very happy with the stock firestones, particularly in the snow. Can you please share your experience with the mpg drop if any?
Milage drops off at around 3 to 5 miles per gallon and comes back to normal after 5000 miles. Also inflate tires to 36 psi while tires are cold. Hope that helps
They're wearing really evenly. Great traction and great wear. Good buy!
How about stopping (braking) power? Good , fast stop in a tight situation? Thanks
@@mikeike7114 yes they also have excellent grip
Thank you, great details!
good review, thanks. I live in an area where it commonly gets to 100 to 110 degrees in the summer/fall. What's the hottest day(s) you've driven using these tires and what is your opinion?
In the northwest we have a few 100 degree days mostly 80s and 90s for summer and did not seem to affect the tires in any way
Is it worth it in a state like Michigan where we do get snow but its immediately removed and only drive in it 10 times a year?
Yes indeed
Thank you for sharing, not like some advertising company or guy got paid to review them 👍🏽
the best review about CC2!
Thanks
Nice review, how often would you rotate them ?
Thanks
XL version or normal?
Im ready to replace mine on a rav4 awd and i keep getting flats where it easily pickup screws nails and fence staples. One of my tires already has 3 patches in total I’ve gotten like 6 or 7 other then that i get like one mpg less a bit noisy at low speeds like crawling speeds and the rock thing too, exceptional in everything else
Thanks for your review on climate 2 all weather tires. Considering a set for our Rav4 . Liked your review & recommendation. Cheers 👍🇨🇦😎
Thank you for the video review of this tires! I just ordered them.
Nice review. Thanks man!
Nothing is great on ice
According to a Tire Rack test, they are good on ice.
I have similar wear at 30K miles as well on a 2021 Highlander Hybrid AWD. Handle unpredictable Upper Midwest weather with safety year round.
if these are really quiet like you say, i might get this when its time to change my tires. Im thinking about either this or the bridgestone turanza quiettrack
These in my opinion are quieter than the bridgestone turanza qauiettrack as I have had a set of them on my 2016 rav4 hybrid and was not impressed and they did not make it to 80000 mile waranty
@@vincentmills4062 thank you for your input! It's just unbelievable to me at first cause they look like off road tires 😆
(Maybe I'm also launching a bit less, now that had the car longer and less demo to friends ;-) )
No real efficiency or noise impact I could tell.. notably louder on rougher road surfaces, but nice and quiet on smooth roads... haven't been able to test in snow yet.
Other folks really love the Pilot Sport All Season 4's, if you want maybe more performant summer but still great in rain, almost as good in winter... these are supposed to be near winter-tire ability, but also very good summer dry/wet
The primacy lasted 30k for you ???? Mine were bald 6 months in from delivery date😂 16k miles. You just not use the acceleration
Thanks for sharing! I just got these tyres for my Nissan Qashqai.
Thanks for the air pressure tip!
Thanks for the review, I just got a set myself. per you recommendation I'm also running them at 36psi cold on a ford Edge. Have you checked to see what psi goes up to at full running temp. Do you keep upping the psi to 36 as weather temp get colder in the winter. I'm northern IN.
yes they are always at 36psi cold
Thanks for the info!
Very helpful 👍
I read they're not as comfortable and quiet as the better Pirellis which have almost as good traction. Less than optimum comfort and noise are noticed all the time which is why many buy a Lexus.
Just installed these tires have driven around 500 miles on it. Positives: Good traction in rain / snow. Negatives: Noisy especially at higher speeds (70+ mph) and lower miles per gallon. Need some more time to figure out if this is just the new tire break in period or this is the new normal.
What kind of SUV do you have them on? Heavy V8 or lighter car? Im thinking it might hurt light weight cars more than say a 5,500 4x4 with a V8.
I have this on my 2002 BM and I tried different psi below and above the recommended and ending up on 36 psi front and 38 rear.
This looks just like my car! I'm waiting for my set of these tires to arrive soon!
What country are the Michelin Crossclimate tires made in?
I just ordered these for my small Clio V. Not sure how they'll do, different tire pressure compared to what Renault wants from the tires, they were marked as compatible on the website (at 195/55 and 16 inch diameter that is) so I'm not sure if there'll be a problem, ideally I just need better tires in general, so I guess I'll see. these seem to get good reviews and good wear.
This tired look good on your ride.
Honest review. Thanks!!
These tires feel mushy on center and don’t turn well at speed on dry summer roads. I don’t see lots of comments on this issue from others so maybe it’s just the width of my CC 2s on my big heavy Chrysler 300?
Check cold tire pressure and set to 36psi. If they are new they do feel that way for the first 5k miles then get less mushy
