Stefan Kung had a great interview during the stage where he talked about utilizing these TTT rules with a climb end. Which I sort of love the idea of. Keep that team together and then rocket ship your climber/GC guy to the end to do a “punchy climb” sounds like a blast.

Loved loved loved the new format. Looking at the breakdown on PCS, there wasn't an obvious better approach, regarding whether or not to stay compact to the end and when to use the big TT engines. Jumbo and Ineos underperformed by staying together but Bora did well with it. Kung went late but other big men early. So every TTT should be different under these rules.
My only reservation is the lack of incentive for the pure sprint teams to make the effort - so how about adding an intermediate "sprint" towards the end with green jersey points based on times?

I actually just looked at the average speeds for the last 3 TTT's (Vuelta, UAE and PN) and am actually surprised how 'low' that actually is. Like Remco in the Vuelta on a longer ITT only did 1-1,3km/h slower than either of these. That would equate to something like 30-50" slower, better than (more than) half of the teams in those TTT's.
From this I would assume that a TTT format like today could really work in his favor vs the normal TTT setup.
