- Brian Wilson and The Corrs performing "God Only Knows" at Party at the Palace, 2002, accompanied by 12,000 selected members of the public on the lawn of Buckingham Palace to celebrate the Queen's Golden Jubilee.
But I must say, I love Brian Wilson's songwriting and his band. One of my favorite songs of all time
Beautiful song and Brian sang it wonderful. Just love his voice and his talent and am glad this song from the Pet Sounds album that Brian wrote is on here alot on RUclips. That album is the best he has ever written and has the most beautiful songs on it. I have it and am glad I have the CD and all the pictures and liner notes. God Bless ya Brian.
Whatever you might say about The Corrs, Andrea is that rarity among humans: somebody with good musical talent who is as beautiful as any woman on the planet.
+lebarosky She sure is voice and chisled like an angel
Korean music
.
So beautiful!!!
God Only Knows is one of the greatest songs ever written. I'm a huge Beatle fan but I have to admit this is as good as anything they wrote
Even Paul McCartney said this is a masterpiece...
God, watching Brian sing this makes me Smile!
This is a wonderful performance
Brian still rocks!
in a suit! killing it!!!!
this whole album(pet sounds) kicked their asses
This video is now almost eight years old and still gives me chills. As a musician myself, I've recorded God Only Knows as an instrumental and still believe it's one of the top songs ever written. Bless Brian.
Amen,Amen,Amen, Have a lovely friend who introduced me to this song. Thank you William, dear friend. 🇺🇸☘️🇺🇸🙏🇺🇸

How about some props for Jeff Foskett on Falsetto
I thought that was Jeff, and you're right. Figgered the falsetto was one of the girls.
ummmm..... who in the Hell are the Corrs?
Andrea marry me
What an absolute waste of the corrs! Other than that a good concert.
Just found this video......thanks for posting. It brought tears to my eyes to watch Brian Wilson snapping his fingers to the rhythm of his greatest song. So happy to see him finally finding the joy & happiness he so richly deserves having brought so much happiness & joy to his fans throughout the years.
Amen
BRIAN WILSON u r a COMPLETE GENIUS & GOD REST CARL & DENNIS Loved ur music for the past 40 YEARS................
I love this song so much! The little breaks with the drum fill … all the vocal harmonies…. Absolutely unique! Thank you Brian for blessing us with your big heart and wonderful talent 💥🔥🎶😎🇺🇸🎹🙏🏻
Paul Macartney has said this is the best love song ever written !!!
A beautiful song written by a humble genius who had a lot of issues in his life.. Brian looks so happy at last ..!!
The Beatles were in nursery league when it came to songs compared to the Beach Boys....They were Post Grads
There IS no comparison, the Beach Boys were and are the best by far in musicology, harmony, difficulty in tuneage etc.
Layers of vocal harmonies that send shivers up and down the spine. Superb music. Thank you Brian.
The corrs sisters are so gorgeous. Whenever they are on stage i just can't take my eyes off them. These women are just out of this world.
The Beach Boys original is still one of the greatest songs ever, but this cover version with The Corrs gives me goosebumps too.
paul mccuytney water ega

It's one of the few covers the Corrs have done and they really do covers justice.
Brian Wilson is a living legend who the rest of the popular music world owe so much to.
Wow... what a gem. I know this was posted years ago, but I found it today and it made my day.
Valerian Leigh i
And I'm 3 years later than you Valerian. I was in high school when the BB released this, there's always been a special place in my heart for them And omg what a fantastic arrangement the Corrs and Brian did with it. Very emotional for me.
Carl Wilson's voice could reduce a grown man to tears.
One of the best versions! love to see him do this with....
This is the most beautiful love song ever written.
Incredible version. This song is certainly meant to be heard with full accompaniment. ♫♫♫
+Jeff Gutierrez Wilson's Wall of Sound at it's best
What an awesome performance by Brian Wilson an The Corrs. The female lead has the voice of an angel that matches perfectly with the song. Thank you for sharing this video!
Brian is totally cool. I have always been a fan, and it is nice to see the Corrs in this video too. Great stuff
I love it! Two of my favorites: Brian Wilson and the Corrs...Brian is and remains, one of the best - maybe the best - of the American musical innovators of the rock era.
That outro with those overlapping vocal harmonies still gives me massive goosebumps!!
Its almost an advert for "Love Actually" Great song, sung and performed well
I love this performance by Brian. It's perfect. EVERYONE brought their A game to this event. I'm so happy I have the DVD.
I appreciate how the intro maintained the integrity of the original. Always loved the intro of this song (and the song itself, of course)
Roger Taylor's drum set at 0:56
That was soooo Good! I actually have tears in my eyes. The lyrics" If you should ever leave me, life would still go on believe me, the world would show nothing to me, so what good would living do me" Fits with so many loved ones that have left some in death, others in life. But even though we feel as if the world can show us nothing, God and the world does. The love of my life cheated on me, many family members have died, yet my niece followed in my footsteps in acting and she is awesome! I got a College degree, and Life goes on. God knows. Only God knows.
GOD ONLY KNOWS WHY HE BLESSED US WITH BRIAN WILSON..........SIMPLY THE BEST!
Beautiful song❤
@bluesboy25000
Well for instance Brian Wilson is American - so I guess the queen invited all kinds of nationalities. It's the music that counts!
i wish Andrea would have dressed like and Angel in white for this song because she has the voice of an angel .
I watched The Party at the Palace DVD and heard this song back in 2003, although it's been over ten years for me to listen to this song again, I felt as ecstatic as the first time I heard it
That was not only nicely nostalgic but very beautiful.
The most ridiculous thing I've ever heard on YT. The Beach Boys were great but to say they were more talented songwriters than The Beatles is preposterous. They had one great album, Pet Sounds. Are you really gonna compare that to all the works of art that the Beatles produced? Revolver, Abbey Road, Srgt. Peppers?
Beautiful rendition for the Queen and for us!
@kevlength He's still alive & kicking at age 69!! You and glassinheart are both right. He is a "Don't do Drugs!!!" walking campaign ad. Yes, he suffered from mental illness, child abuse & drug abuse, but he still is legendary!
Saw a documentary once, featuring Paul and John of the Beatles, Keith and Mick of the Stones, Pete from the Who and Brian; about how a lot of what they did in the mid-60's was like a little undeclared contest, to see who could write the bestest stuff and produce the greatest sounds. And each of the others, without fail, credited Brian with being the best of them. That every time they thought they'd bested all the rest, Brian would come up with something that would totally blow them away...
Very nice attempt, but to me this could not come close to the lovely way that Carl Wilson sang it, even close to the end of his life. He sang it so beautifully and with such deep feeling. I felt Brian Wilson struggled to match Carl's vocal range and The Corrs, good though the lead singer was, just couldn't match him. RIP Carl.
@toucheturtle300
watch his performance from 29 May 2010. in Scottsdale, Az., don't aske me why or how, but his voice really has recovere,d he hits notes he hadn#t hit for years, his voice really recovered, and for a second he really is the brian wilson again that recorded pet sounds, a magic little moment in that video, at 1.06
@bluesboy25000 Hi - as an Irishman - well, my grandpa was from the old country - I am - shall we say - perplexed too. I also note that the Mason's appear to have supplied the stage in their customary chess board fashion. The queen's choice of Wilson does not augment my opinion of her but does, alas, to a degree diminish my opinion of the great , but now somewhat fucked-up, man.
@enlishsherpa Excuse me, I was genuinely trying understand the society and trying to ask an honest genuine question. And FYI I do not live in a trailer park and am actually a middle east studies major. And I honestly find your comments about American Trailer trash just as offensive as I would find an American calling English a bunch of wimpy tarts.
Great song !
But how can you dedicate it to the queen of england ??? My god I would never do that ahahah.
No Ireland is part of the GEOGRAPHICAL area of the British Isles. The Corrs are from Southern Ireland and recieved a lot of grief for appearing at this mainly from latent republicans from Northern Ireland.
@marmcmick The Coors are from Ireland. Canada is considered part of the British Commonwealth, a mainly ceremonial affilation of former British colonies. The US and Ireland are not members of the Commonwealth
Muy bonito. Si estuviera Dennis W. allí se ponía las botas con las chicas de The Corrs
brian looks like a stoned bus driver... and i'm glad he survived every single crash down...
the rhythm guitar player was pushing the tempo too much. Too hot in the mix which is not his fault but in my opinion he gave the recording a hurried feel whenever he was in there.
Brian Wilson is certainly a legend, but , bloody hell! how much pot, drink, meth and uppers can one take.....He looks out of it! He will pay for all that shit soon, good luck Mr. Wilson.
@bluesboy25000 Although Ireland did gain its independence from England, aren't they still part of what is considered Great Britain? I thought the Corrs were from Canada? Anyone?
@Guitarwizard55 Totally Agree. Even though The Beatles will always be the greatest group, I think this song is better than anything they ever wrote. The perfect pop song.
God only knows which is the best: this version or the Beach Boys' original. I like both of them.
The replies to you are pretty quiet. You see that? And no woos or impressions from much of anybody. I'll give you a cookie and you can go away.
@bluesboy25000 Well they are from Ireland which is part of Great Britain. Shit I knew most American's were ignorant but...........................
Brian Wilson...great
And of course that the corrs are much more inteligent than you are, and they certanly have put this concert as one of their highlights.
look up the interview with Paul and Ronnie Wood... Paul states how he was truly honored to be able to sing with Brian on this song which he said is the best song ever... he also said he wasn't sure he would be able to sing it on stage with out crying....
Paul would fly Brian to England to hear his latest music nd then try to out do it on his next record...
Anybody know who the flutist in the red shirt is? Thought it might be Gareth McLearnon but I wasn't sure
Pathos perfection. Also consider Anthem for Truth by Jones of Arc (RUclips). Raw and true. A rare REAL anthem. New
Nice!
@kevlength he was mentally ill for a long time. it wasn't just recreational drugs that took their toll on him.
Ha! Jeff Foskett got demoted to playing sleigh bells. Ha! Ha! Ha! Maybe he can burn a few calories doing THAT!
thank you so much. Great song.
McCartney and wilson should collaborate on an album. It would be their swan song.
@ILuvCaroline I think it was the "Party at the Palace" for the Queen's Golden Jubilee in 2002.
It's so lovely how Brian feels his songs. Guitar hero has nothing on him.
If you're the next artist to go on then you are standing there thinking "Shite, how do I follow that"
i love andrea's top
they could have showed more of sharon and caroline singing
What can i say they hot and sexy from tjb excellent singer" The Corr"
Brian's is so cute rocking behind that keyboard... I wish he was my granpa...
masonic floor on stage 1:51
Wonderful
brilliant vocal arrangement, just brilliant.
Considering everything that the Beach Boys were going through, along with the control freak father limiting their creativity...that's not even a fair comparison. Look the Beatles had some fantastic creativity and had their nitch. You can't match their music and interesting ideas...but you can't touch the Beach Boys with their harmonys and great orchestra arrangement during the late 60's era. Both are amazing and shouldn't be compared
Do the American and the Irish not recognise the irony of this song?
The original is the best hands down!!!
So beautiful!!!!!!
lmao @ the ODO comment haha. He looks like a corpse bless him
this is such a lovely song, thanks for sharing
Awesome!
Wow, this is a really old video in youtube years.
Why do we have to keep making Beatles' comparisons??!
Corrs performing one of my favorite BB songs with the legend? .. OK,,,, I gotta admit I came a little......
@fligemon Well... That's one way to look at it. o_O
McCartney's agree. It's his favorite song.
Fortunate to be there that night
God Only Knows what I be without you Brian...
More like Brian, Andrea, and, oh, the Corrs. They could have had them all together, onstage.
Sweet!
I love this song :-)
