Watched the whole thing, in intervals over a handful of days. At breakfast, on the treadmill, during work breaks… There’s a mystical peacefulness about it. There’s a story, variety, drama, victories, defeats, coffee, but always relatability, empathy, humility, and the inevitable residue of learning.
Hey Eric. I started watching you pretty recently but I’ve been really binging your videos. It’s incredible how much you’ve helped me improve in such a short amount of time, All while having it an incredible time watching you. It’s truly incredible how easy and fun it is to watch you
I started dying when the Hall of the Mountain King was upbeat and nothing really interesting was happening in the chess game, then he is all like "ALEXA quieter!"
Mr Rosen I mean this as a compliment, I can sleep and have happy dreams to your content. I also watch it regularly and let it play in the background optimizing the use of your great quality of videos. Keep up the great stuff.❤
That first game low-key so instructive... two removing the defender tactics to win a piece, then the game. Eric uses the ideas quite naturally without explaining, but those are the underrated foundational skills it takes to level up. Nicely done.
9:19 “I feel like an architect with this structure, like everything’s defended, nice foundation........ just haff to *keep* building” ~ Eric Rosen, on his burfdei
Eric is a good person to help people catch up on sleep. No matter what is happening in the game, his voice is so peaceful and calm. I find myself napping when I go to watch at his site.
Yep.. watched the whole thing. I was sad it was ending, but it was probably time... you seemed exhausted and needed a mental break anyway! Thanks for uploading the long clip!
23:50 I remember when that song was going on in a game in a video from a couple weeks ago where it got into a really intense time scramble at the end of the song. That was very fun.
I decided to watch a dozen of minutes of this video and I ended up watching the entire thing...I couldn't believe 3 hours passed by so quickly. Thanks Eric, not many RUclipsrs can generate that effect!
Hi Eric, I recently started watching your Chess videos and it has rekindled my love for the game... thank you for the very informative and detailed commentary. One thing I really like is your calm demeanor even in the worst of situations... I have only seen you get upset once in watching 100s of your games... keep inspiring!
I sometimes use your videos to help me sleep because of your calm tone... so when Hall of the mountain king arrived at its climax... I got really scared kkkkkk (I was nearly asleep). PS: I do not mean to be rude when I say that your voice is relaxing. And I watched the video when I woke up, great entertainment 👍
3:22:15 I am one of those looking to find the longest chess videos possible :) Especially your channel it feels so calm to watch and get ideas of new attacks / openings. :) Ggs Eric.
I just got done watching the whole thing. I really enjoy your videos. Not only are you a great Chess player but you are very inspirational. As I sometime feel like giving up chess you always invigorate me to keep trying.
good overview, a lot of traps and a super fast endgame - and a very strong and fun gameplay. the most boring aspect of chess is a complicated mid game with no action, but in your games there is no such thing. it makes fun to see a unexpected move from the opponent before you and listen to your explanations for all the over moves XD
Just 'cause you asked, I was in Calc 1 at the time this video was recorded. Got my Calc 2 final in three days. Thanks for the chess knowledge and inspiration!
Its been a long time since your stream, but its never too late. I’ve watched the whole video, liked it really much. You are amazing as a person and as a chess player, good luck!
l'm surprised noone commented on this yet (that I've seen), but from around 35:00-40:00 was the most engine-y engine user ever. LOL @ how blatant that was. The guy had the same move speed EVERY SINGLE MOVE even on obvious recaptures. And Eric just took the crushing from the cheater in stride. Impressive patience.
The RUclips algorithm pushed your content my way recently and I'm quite happy, there was some awesome moments in here, In The Hall of the Mountain Kings appearance was pretty great. Also yes I made it to the end ;p
Eric rosen's line that will never be get old.
"If you're just joining, this is chess"
How humble.
I love how hall of the mountain king made drawing those arrows so menacing 18:10
Hahaha, yes, I had the same thought
Lmao
I loved how he started drawing more and more because the opponent was playing any moves
Listening to fast music while playing chess is the new meta, boosts your ELO by 400 points
HAhahahah i was dying, TOP quality content

23:15 the way he moved the queen is one of the funniest things I’ve seen in chess 😂
Eric drawing ten million arrows as Hall of the Mountain King ramped up in intensity was extremely satisfying
1:42:40
That's a sentence I definitely never expected to hear Eric say.
1:44:27 “if I ever go fishing, I need to remember to bring this rook.”
This! ^^^^ Random comments by Eric...pure comic gold, lol
was gonna comment this too xD
Oh no my rook
I lol at that

I am taking quite a few of his different tricks from the Stafford Gambit and used them on one of my friends...
Yeah my friend now tends to shy away from taking that night he's learned that probably 80% of the time I end up winning

Over three hours of Eric...

"If you're watching this in the future, it's the present for you... But present time is just future past. Right?"- IM Eric Rosen, 2020
Lol yeah that was such a great aside
You are amazing man, i love how easily you make decision and you speak less and explain more, sometimes i got sleepy haha thank you for your videos
I am stealing your "speak less, explain more" line.
He gets me sleepy as well hahaha I put him on to fall asleep to

Oh no, my hope!
That game is actually part of this stream, it begins at 2:58:40!
I think my life without eric rosen videos involved in my life is so empty and sad ! Much love from Egypt Eric keep up the great content ❤
I've permanently associated "In the Hall of the Mountain King" with Eric Rosen

The endgame of 2:58:45 with that music is just spot on! Loved it!
Man Eric is such a wholesome guy
15 mg of melatonin and Eric's soothing voice for 3 hours. What a way to end a Friday night 😊

1:39:39, the moment is so cool and hillarious till the end
It looked so promising and then when you notice Nxf4 your heart sinks... And then the dumb rook trap wins it anyway :D

Definitely watched the whole video with your dulcet tones soothing my newborn on her first day at home. 👌🏽
he makes chess way less stressful than how I play it..
fave chess streamer 🙌
I love how the calculations during the song actually lined up with the climax at 18:47 and 18:52 in quite a satisfying way lul
I clicked through the time stamps to openings / titles that I thought interesting.
Thanks!
The queen move at 23:19 absolutely sent me.
note to future self, this was not worth clicking
I watched it all. I know these long videos aren't the most popular always, but I'm grateful they exist.

although im a chess noob, i would watch your vids all night. much love from the uk
1:55:30 - 38 please explain why the king couldn’t have just taken the rook to get out of check? I apologize for my ignorance but I’m lost
I’m not all that good at chess so this may be wrong, but I believe it’s cause white have no legal moves after that thus stalemate.
I watched the WHOLE THING!
18:46 that sync tho
Erick you are a blitz machine
I took calc 3 in 2019, that was basically hell that i can't forget
