They say its so you can hear the announcements but if you wear headphones like they want you too you would never here them any ways. Also out of the 8 i been on with carnival i NEVER had any one playing a Bluetooth speaker by the pool. Heck there is always loud musing play any ways so you still cant here them. Also if its for the rooms you still go the TV you can crank up so you still wont hear them. so there logic is just DUMP. You know a lot of times i do stuff before the cruise and i do bring my portable speaker with now they are going to take it and possible lose it. Why should i be punished when I don't use in a manner they think i do and also i may use it before the cruise or even at port. Just another way they want to take CONTROL. Carnival has taken a lot away for dump un logical reasons. That's my two cents now the chat ware begins
Dogs would be a horrible idea for a cruise ship. I have 4 and they are jumpers and swimmers. They would have no problem jumping over side of ship to get to water. Also would jump right into the pool. Not to mention a little counter surfing at the buffet. 😊
Somewhere I read or watched where the dogs won't be allowed in any restaurant, around the pools, in the spa or at the shows. Thank God for that about the restaurants.
A dog cruise would work if it was the final cruise before putting the ship into dry dock and completely renovating. I can’t imagine how many accidents will happen on that cruise with all of the nervous dogs on a ship for the first time! I love dogs
😂😂😂 on serious note it just seems like a bad idea. And I am a dog mom to end all (err most) dog moms. As a stereotypical, standard issue dog lady (I am that dog lady that volunteers with rescues and has a crossover suv), I have zero desire to go on the dog cruise, not appealing, no, not needed, possibly dangerous. Plus TBH I kind of enjoy my vacations pet free - it is vacation- I want to be care free and tipsy on mojitos - not stressing out about whether my dog is miserable and stressed out stuck on ship in the middle of the ocean with 250 other dogs. To each their own, that is just me.
Maybe but most pet owners are responsible enough to clean up after their pets...I know not all are but I can't imagine a dog doing that much more damage than a toddler who is unsupervised would.
And I would be miserable if the ship is not totally cleaned/disinfected before my arrival if I was on the next cruise on that ship. One dog is bad for me, I would have to leave with that many.
I have a retired racing greyhound. I would not take my dog on a cruise. I would feel awful leaving him in the room when I go to dinner. He's my precious baby, and he would be miserable, anxious, and scared. I couldn't do that to him. He would be happier at home.
My dog, pure bred Golden Retriever, would Absolutely Love being on a ship. And we baby our dog..if I worried about her comfort-anxiety at all...wouldn't take her. I wish there were More opportunities to sail with her.
Ok Hire more staff. Put an up charge on the pizza after 9 pm. Cost $20 a slice. Minimum 10 slices per person, everyone must stand in line. Wait time 20 minutes. Must stay in line. No choices. Next person in line will not be helped until one in front is gone. All pizza must be eaten or fine of $1000 added. Not many out at that time and long lines is not mutually exclusive. Out of 5000 on ship only 200 out all in that line. Long lines. It’s all relative.
My favorite thing that happens in a meeting is when you make a suggestion and one of the people in the meeting basically says that's a stupid idea and then a half hour later the same person makes your suggestion and then takes credit for the idea!
NCL cancellations should make cruisers think twice about booking any more than six months before a sailing date. Even considering that, many cruise lines have canceled cruises less than six months out because they decide to sell the cruise to a charter.
Think they might regret letting the dogs on….that is a lot of urine and poop for a contained area-decks, carpets and balconies are going to suffer and they won’t get it until the hot humid weather hits and there is no breeze. Think about it. Plus, I don’t think it is fair to the crew on that ship to have to deal with the fall out of hundreds of dogs on the ship, and you know they will be cleaning up. People don’t clean up after themselves most times on a ship, you know the line, I’m on vacation. Ugh. Won’t cruise that ship ever.
I sympathize about the pizza! But I think we maybe missing a subtle point. “Lessening the lines”could be a subtle way of preventing trouble (fights etc.). Wasn’t there a big fight not too long ago by a pizza station? I think it was Carnival.
If I’m not mistaken, that Spirit flight was shot at before landing. They abandoned the landing and went to the Dominican Republic and were allowed to land there. One flight staff was grazed by a bullet as they did penetrate into the actual cabin.
Right!! We want hot pizza at 2a not cold nasty buffet pizza. That long line excuse makes NO SENSE, I call BS. It's not a new buffet either, it has been around for at least a year.
The CARNIVAL midnight buffet has the same menu every night: Over cooked, over breaded Chicken Tenders, hot dogs, Pepperoni Pizza , and Cheese pizza. Hamburger sliders, meh..menu.., and or course the tortilla chips with salsa. As I said, Tenders are overcooked and mostly breading. Pizza is basically thick bread. Why not the sandwich and pizza shop till 3 a.m. , as they are both BETTER than the Midnight Buffet.
One reason I'd stand in line at Pizza Pirate is for the crispy, thin, fresh crust. I was so disappointed on Seashore because the first pizza I saw was a big doughy mess. It was not until a few days later, I discovered there was another spot in the buffet with "regular" pizza that still didn't compare to fresh pizza pirate!
They already had the one line open in the buffet at midnight. It has cold and rubbery food that tasted like it was prepared by children without a microwave. The pizza is fresh and made to order. There are 100s of people still up and want something to eat at the time of night. It's vacation and one option. The way to handle a line of people is not to close it so there is no line.........
I get the same 'what the heck were they thinking' moments while watching crazy tv commercials. Realize the ad company that created the commercial had to go through many hoops and levels of management that someone way up in the client company says "Yes! That's the perfect commercial for us!!!" Amazing..
Just came off the MSC Seaside transatlantic…this was a cruise with a large proportion of non-USA cruisers. There were a group of passengers who were very overt with their support of the eventual winner of the election. The day after the results were known, they walked into the theatre with their political shirts on and had 2-3 people cheered and then another 500 or so booed. Definitely an interesting situation to watch. The shirt -wearers did not seem to understand that their actions (as they seemed quite overt in their willingness to engage in unnecessary debate in support of their political leanings) were not shared by the majority of the passengers. Personally I found it quiet…disconcerting…how the passengers were so willing to start disagreements based on politics (particularly out of a non-US port with a majority non-US passenger quota) and not understand how inappropriate many of us other passengers felt it was.
I'm a Canadian who will be flying into Miami for a 15 night cruise through the Canal. I have to tell you that I am very worried about running into people with aggressive political views who don't mind crowing and imposing on others. Politics and religion absolutely should be banned while cruising. But some people aren't as civilized as they should be.
I could'nt believe when I heard about this! Dogs pee! They pee anywhere and at anytime!!! Yes, there's going to be "bathroom zones" but I've had dogs...I'm NOT trying to cruise behind dogs ESPECIALLY if they have peed in the cabins on the carpet or beds!!! That would be a NIGHTMARE to get those carpets or any furniture they peed on! As if the ship staff do not have enough to do???
I had a huge group of blind people on my last carnival cruise on the Celebration, there were so many dogs and it happened during the Halloween cruise. To my observation, the dogs were very clean and professional. They didn't interact with anyone except their masters. Infact, all.of the scary costumes did not provoke a response. I feel that the "blanket statement" dog issues should not apply to the disabled/blind/seizure detecting/deaf/etc. Just saying
Just a very simple question: If lines for pizza are such a problem, then why continue to build larger and larger ships that carry more and more passengers?
I love my doggos, tremendously, but one of the biggest reasons I cruise is to relax and let go of stress and day to day responsibilities and care-taking. I think i would be so stressed out worried that my dogs would disturb others with barking and such. Plus, it's a lot of care taking (taking them potty, walks, feeding). While I don't mind all those things at home day to day, I cruise for a little break from all those things. That being said, I miss my animals immensely while I'm gone, but they are always well taken care of in my absence.
I do think taking the late night pizza away is a big mistake. So many people love that feature (esp those that also miss the 24 hour pizza). It's a mistake to take away those later night hours/early morning. Night owls aren't happy.
Dogs on board is a potential nightmare! Risk of dogs attacking each other or passengers. In this litigious world that’s a lawsuit just waiting to happen. Hope the Knee is getting better. God Bless my brother.
A Dog Palooza cruise just seems like a bad idea., What about the people coming on the ship after this dog gone cruise that may be allergic to dogs. I'm no doctor but couldn't that be an issue?
I think it's a great idea to bring in more food options from midnight to 2:30am. They used to have midnight buffet years ago and took them away. They are at least bringing something back for more options than just pizza
NCL seems to make these types of cancellations more than other lines. It probably is good practice from a business point of view but it would make me mad.
so true! they are terrible about cancelling because they just decide they want to move ships elsewhere! i fell victim too:( it's awful because NO insurance policy will cover you if the cruise line cancels. You end up with whatever they give you back and you are OUT anything else like hotels and airfare you already booked (and cruise insurance costs which are useless in this case since its not covered under any policy!)
Heyyyyyy Tony! Thanks for all your content! Taking a cruise on Carnival early next year and was initially sad about the NLP cancellation news, but glad the midnight buffett is open until 2am with additional items including a pizza option. I feel that it's a fair trade! Will miss the freshly made pizze and the fun random conversations with fellow cruisers waiting in line for the LNP though! Keep up the amazing content sir!
I watched this and breathed a sigh of relief because you didn't mention the Norwegian Jade in the ships affected by the cancelations. Unfortunately, half an hour later, I got the email that my Panama Canal cruise on the Jade in October 2025 was canceled.
I haven't had a dog in 10 years, and I have a cleaning lady who is very diligent. I have still found a dog hair here and there over the years. 250 dogs on a small ship? That's insane. Mostly, the type of people who have to bring their dogs everywhere they go usually have small dogs, which are hard to house train and tend to be more aggressive towards other dogs out of fear. Also, most small dogs yap constantly. Really, really stupid idea.
I'm glad they're banning boomboxes. On our last cruise, there was a guy and some friends blasting music on the lanai deck loud enough to be heard on every balcony aft of midships. Not just "on", but we heard it easily INSIDE our stateroom. Security eventually arrived, but they packed up and left just five minutes before...leaving lots of trash where they were sitting.
I think the Carnival decision has to do with security. Recently there have been fights and arguments at the pizza place which required security to be called. To post security there full time stretches them thin. This change allows them to seperate and possibly contain the problem. 🤷♂️
The second best part of getting late night pizza is the line. The wait to get really good pizza builds and makes the food even more delicious. It also gives you time to chat with folks on the line. I NEVER had a bad experience. The only time it's a problem is in the daytime. Thats when there is more people waiting for pizza instead of eating some of the less than stellar buffet food. (Side note: Carnival really needs to focus more on that part instead of pizza).
Tony I don’t want to go on that type of cruise period. But you cruised enough to know there are more then 1,000 two legged dogs on every cruise I’ve been on. Misbehaving Tks John bsuite life
Tony I’m not a fan cruise pizza but I do appreciate the thin crust over pastey deep dish. Besides the midnight buffet choices are all things off the kids menu!! Smh not everyone that’s up late wants fried grease and cheese. My daughter doesn’t eat meat and can’t have dairy so please add a salad bar.
Departure time at 4:00 pm does not mean you have until 4:00 pm to get on the ship. Probably should have worded that a little differently. Great video as always though!!!!
Love port Canaveral ! Will be leaving from there for our Christmas cruise. Actually leaving from Miami for my next cruise this week. Will be boarding Amtrak from Tampa to Miami - reasonable fare and don't have to worry about driving and the cost of parking plus free parking at Amtrak station
Records yes! Orlando/Miami better watch out for Galveston port, it’s on a big growth curve as well. MSC is coming in about a year and Royal is utilizing their brand new terminal for the larger class of ships. Carnival and others are also adding ships to the port as well. The port itself is also open to adding more space for new or larger terminals and more parking, road and traffic improvements and on and on. Watch out Florida! lol
Cruise ships are not making enough money - They have to find a way to get people on board by allowing them to bring their dog? That’s crazy for all sorts of reasons.
As a resident of the Villa Vie Odyssey, I can tell you everyone plays very well in the sandbox here. We have plenty of both sides of the US political spectrum aboard. Keep in mind we also have plenty on non-US citizens. Rarely any talk of anything politics here. Definitely just a marketing strategy. You are spot on and we agree with you....we did not like that marketing strategy approach.
Port Canaveral was our favorite port many years ago when it only home ported 3 ships there n 1 terminal. It was easy to find a hotel room near the port and getting to the ship was very simple. Now, it’s crazy with all the ships there.
We totally fell in love with the Tampa area but flying in with a wife that packs everything we own, getting off the ship to the Uber area stunk! Won’t stop us using Tampa but the port needs updating
No to the dogs. I don’t mind the chief dog officer on RCCL or those who need to bring service dogs. My husband is highly allergic and staying in a room after having a dog in it would be awful. Not to mention the chance of them bringing fleas onboard.
I actually will be happy to go on the doggy cruise with my 2 tiny furkids. They said that there will be special doggy butlers and doggy relief stations. My best friend took her little dog on a transatlantic cruise to relocate to Europe and she said they took great care of the dogs.
On the bigger ships (Celebration) they have 3-5 people making pizza & the line seem to move quickly. On the smaller ships they should have figured out how to make the process more efficient. Having one guy flour the dough, form it to the pizza pan, apply the topping & wait to cook it is that efficient. I'm not sure the reason for this move is what JH is claiming.
for Carnival, what times does the club close down? With some of the late night shenanigans that have gone on at the LNP, have to think they are also looking to spread people out a bit in the buffet AND offer less options for after 2:30am. I think banning the Bluetooth speakers is also a great move, people just can't be respectful with them and play them way too loudly both in their rooms and all over the ship.
CONGRATULATIONS! You are the first to read below the headlines and rather than turn the story about loud musical appliances into "Bluetooth banned". The story is about being too loud not about some technology that Granma doesn't understand.
The only way I would approve the dog idea is to do what our neighborhood pool does. Dogs are allowed in on the last day before the pool is cleaned and winterized for the season. Have the dog cruize as the last cruise before a ship upgrade.
Those cancelled NCL cruises in Caribbean are likely going to be Hallmark Christmas cruises. Huge demand. RE: Dogs...I thought same thing...yuck...and I love my puppy!
I took a Celebrity cruise in October and they confiscated my outlet adapter. I’ve used the same adapter on two other cruises and it was fine. I’m wondering if they’ll fall in line with Royal
If the government is saying don't go somewhere and you ignore that advice, will your travel insurance pay out if you needed to claim for an incident in that region? We all know what insurance companies are like.
Love my dog, but NO DOGS! Where is all the 💩 gonna go? 😮 fleas, smell 🤢 Nope. Not ok. Plus there are many dog owners that DO NOT clean up after their furry friend. Room attendants will need a pay raise. Extra work
Our Norwegian to Alaska and Hawaii for summer ‘25 was cancelled. We waited 2 years for it. Reworking now with Holland. On the dog front; my yorkie is only 4.5 lbs and I would love to take him with us especially on longer cruises. He loves traveling and is very good everywhere.
Yes, my Antarctic cruise was cancelled. It was the perfect timeline for me. I had a Princess cruised for the same general time, and had just cancelled it based on what days my office will be closed. So for 6 months I had 2 Antarctic cruises booked, now I have none. :(

I like how they ban boomboxes because of safety reasons - we all know its because they are just super annoying to every other passenger
They should be banned. Don't want to deal with inconsiderate people blasting music on my cruise!
The reason why doesn't matter as long as they're banned!
This is true but I am just glad they are banned.
They say its so you can hear the announcements but if you wear headphones like they want you too you would never here them any ways. What? People don't love hearing obnoxious loud music littered with disgusting language and imagery blasting at 7 am on the serenity deck? /s
As a cruiser from the 90s the midnight buffet was spectacular and I really miss it
Yes, I totally agree.
The Chocolate Gala Buffet on RC was the bomb!
La Quinta translates from Spanish to mean: Next to Denny's

"Counter surfing at the buffet" 🤣😂😅
Then why bring them?
There are a number of places they will not be allowed to go, the pool area and restaurants are in the “no dog” zone.

250 dogs on a cruise.
Two words: NO GRASS
(It’s a joke, people.)
There are Celebrity Ships with grass. 😉

If carnival's true concern was the long lines, The proper solution would have been to increase staffing at Pizza Pirate after midnight.
Than you!💋💋
Thank you!
Exactly

Taking a cruise on Carnival early next year and was initially sad about the NLP cancellation news, but glad the midnight buffett is open until 2am with additional items including a pizza option. I feel that it's a fair trade! Will miss the freshly made pizze and the fun random conversations with fellow cruisers waiting in line for the LNP though! Keep up the amazing content sir!
Ahhhhh the hound cruise? naahhhh, that’s not going to end well! Talk about the intitalled going crazy!
Also, closing the Pizza del Capitano is nutz. POOR DECISION CARNIVAL.
I watched this and breathed a sigh of relief because you didn't mention the Norwegian Jade in the ships affected by the cancelations. Unfortunately, half an hour later, I got the email that my Panama Canal cruise on the Jade in October 2025 was canceled.
i feel your pain, so sorry! NCL is notorious for canceling and then we are just screwed. been there my friend.
Our NCL Jade Nov 2025 Panama was cancelled as well. Which doesn’t bother me as the reviews were not great.
Fort Lauderdale is my favorite cruise port because of Princess Cruises.
I’d rather cruise with the dogs than obnoxious drunks or a bunch of uncontrollable kids😜
Port Canaveral is much less congested than Miami.
If more rooms are sold, then yes, the Villa Vie Odyssey marketing is a good thing. Otherwise, probably not.
We love going out of Port Canaveral. Miami is so hectic where PC is laid back and it doesn’t feel over crowded even though it is.
I think the Carnival decision has to do with security. Recently there have been fights and arguments at the pizza place which required security to be called. To post security there full time stretches them thin. This change allows them to seperate and possibly contain the problem. 🤷♂️
A lot of travel insurance is void if you go to Haiti. What if someone has a health emergency while near or at Labadee?
The second best part of getting late night pizza is the line. The wait to get really good pizza builds and makes the food even more delicious. It also gives you time to chat with folks on the line. I NEVER had a bad experience. The only time it's a problem is in the daytime. Thats when there is more people waiting for pizza instead of eating some of the less than stellar buffet food. (Side note: Carnival really needs to focus more on that part instead of pizza).
No dogs.
When you are in your cabin with the TV off, you can't hear the announcements.
Margaritaville at Sea has screwed the pooch with that decision.
We did the NCL South America/Patagonia cruise earlier this year. It was great!
Tony I don’t want to go on that type of cruise period. But you cruised enough to know there are more then 1,000 two legged dogs on every cruise I’ve been on. Misbehaving Tks John bsuite life
Most don't pee on the ground though.
While your broadcasts and style are 1st class...this broadcast is by far the best one I've seen...Kudos!!!
You nailed that one perfectly!
How do they collect the taxes on that dog cruise? Do they consider that FIDO or FICO
Lol
No to the dogs. I don’t mind the chief dog officer on RCCL or those who need to bring service dogs. My husband is highly allergic and staying in a room after having a dog in it would be awful. Not to mention the chance of them bringing fleas onboard.
Aside from my trip to the bathroom I’ve never been awake at 2:30 on a cruise. I go hard all day and then I sleep.
Please no dogs on cruise ships - service dogs are fine of course
Port Canaveral is our favorite port!!
I actually will be happy to go on the doggy cruise with my 2 tiny furkids. They said that there will be special doggy butlers and doggy relief stations. My best friend took her little dog on a transatlantic cruise to relocate to Europe and she said they took great care of the dogs.
I would take a dog lover cruise in a NY minute! I definitely love dogs! I may actually seek out this cruise just to be with the K9’s.
Check politics at the gangway. Cruising is about meeting people from all walks of life. One love on the ship
Loved Dominican republic we were just there, my first time felt safe.
CONGRATULATIONS!
You are the first to read below the headlines and rather than turn the story about loud musical appliances into "Bluetooth banned".
The story is about being too loud not about some technology that Granma doesn't understand.
John Heald's explanation was insulting to those of us with half a brain.
The only way I would approve the dog idea is to do what our neighborhood pool does. Dogs are allowed in on the last day before the pool is cleaned and winterized for the season. Have the dog cruize as the last cruise before a ship upgrade.
I was tempted on the dog Cruise. I would love to take my puppy with us
Our dogs are family, and, like a lot of other family members, we occasionally like our time away from them. No to dog cruises.
Yes!! Love Port Canaveral!!!
If the government is saying don't go somewhere and you ignore that advice, will your travel insurance pay out if you needed to claim for an incident in that region? We all know what insurance companies are like.
I would love to bring my dogs on a cruise. It would save me money and worry. I appreciate this decision.
Love my dog, but NO DOGS! Where is all the 💩 gonna go? 😮 fleas, smell 🤢 Nope. Not ok. Plus there are many dog owners that DO NOT clean up after their furry friend. Room attendants will need a pay raise. Extra work
Ft Lauderdale my favorite.
Why don't they do both and the buffet at 2:30
Yes, my Antarctic cruise was cancelled. It was the perfect timeline for me. I had a Princess cruised for the same general time, and had just cancelled it based on what days my office will be closed. So for 6 months I had 2 Antarctic cruises booked, now I have none. :(
Hi Tony. Lot's of news today. I did see that list from NCL, it's crazy. So many things going on. As always thank you for all you do ❤
