    • @BuffRANGE

      If the price were the same, I would take this design over the 1155. Even at probably $50-60 more than the 1155, I'd take this as well. Over the 1165, that will have to be tested..

    Do you think basic m855 green tip in 22 creedmoor would have the construction to beat lvl4 ceramic, lvl3+ ceramic, or lvl3 steel plates using your KAK 18" upper.
    My guess is lvl4 no, lvl3+ maybe (brand dependant), lvl3 steel yes.

    Hey buff I’m wondering if as a ‘over the counter’ way to ‘defeat’ level 4 would be a 12 gauge magnum slug perhaps 1 1/4 oz or heavier or better yet a brenneke black magic? I want to know if on stand alone level 4 they would go deeper than 44mm…. Also I wonder how deep backface would be on steel 3+ armor? What do you think

    • @BuffRANGE
      @BuffRANGE  3 месяца назад

      @@brendenblair3706 it’s confusing because not only is that a performance standard, It’s also generally used for a shape, size and cut standard. As far as performance goes, you’re right a sapi plate is effectively a level three whereas an ESAPI is a level 4+ because it has a lot higher performance requirement than level four. Has to stop M2AP 3 hits with one at 3000 fps :)

      @lucastonoli3256 Месяц назад +1

      @@BuffRANGE In my head, if AR-15 with >=16" barrels are the most common rifle out there, and M193 is also incredibly common, level 3 steel is just not an option. There are better steel plates, but both price and weight go even higher, making them even less viable.

    • @BuffRANGE
      @BuffRANGE  Месяц назад +1

      @@lucastonoli3256 Indeed. M193 is very common and so are 16" barrels. Cost, weight and inability to cover M193 are disadvantages, as well as in some cases the inability to prevent the fragmentation from exiting the plate. I am curious once NIJ deprecates NIJ 06 standards, how steel armor companies will adapt. Will they work on better steel and meet the new standards, or will they sell under the old standard, and confuse consumers..
