Only problem is when he goes full tilt mode after popping back off the mat. But after that, he just…fizzles out. And it’s back to normal.
My head cannon is that soda used to be vodka drunkinski. But after coming clean he changed his name to soda and uses that to keep his brand intact and as a new coping mechanism
TD Soda was by far the hardest fighter in Punch Out Wii. I beat everyone with relative ease, but i was stuck on Soda for a solid 2 weeks (for reference, i beat TD Sandman in 1,5-2 hours).
Something about Soda's intro in NES Punch Out always felt realy unsettling to me, espedially when fighting him for the first time as a kid. I think that compared to his chest which I used to think stretched way to far out from the rest of his body, the Ganon laugh, strange movements... everything kinda subtly piled up and made him one of my favorite Punch Out characters.
If you Translate what he says during his Taunt before he drink. He says "For my health" which if you let him drink it literally replenishes his health.
This guy was a pain in my ass when dealing with him. Each knockout, my sanity weakens within frustration. Each defeat makes me lose most of my temper. Title defense was worse. I was so tired of my belt taken away currently that I HAD to restart per failure. I didn't even get past him in that mode!
