you're forgetting one channel. The song is just never complete without the sound effects of the Spirit Train chugging along.
For those that are curious, channels 1, 7, 11, and 12 only play when you're at full speed, and channels 3, 9, and 10 drop out if you come to a stop.
I experimented in-game manually by changing speeds and opening the map as to stop sound effects, but I could've made some mistakes.
I noticed that whenever i looked at the map when changing direction and just playing in general!
Fun fact: track 4 stops playing when track 3 starts playing, presumably to save on polyphony. This means that "all channel" recordings of this song aren't accurate to in-game!
Yesss I love this track! (pun intended)
Lol
Lol I agree
This deconstruction is well conducted
I'm working on the first rom hack for this game, it will include new textures, some new models, new text, and new music!
I call it, "The Legend of Zelda: Modded Tracks"
I might make one for Phantom Hourglass too... I may call that one "The Legend of Zelda: Modded Hourglass" so you know it's part of the same modded series.
Cool that you are doing something for this great game
The four greatest composers of the 2000s make one of the most highly regarded overworld themes of all time. I love the fact that you showed how each instrument “references” other pieces of music in the Zelda series.
I remember just driving the train around solely to listen to this for hours on end, trying to pick each channel apart. Childhood enhanced, Orj! Childhood enhanced!
Ahah- yes!
This is pretty fascinating to see how the song's split up, thank you for taking the request! One of my favorites from the Spirit Tracks game.
same!
Channel 4 and 3 have a leitmotif from Byrn's Theme, channel 3 also as a leitmotif from the boss battle theme!
I love the positive spirit i get from this track
Probably my favortie track from any game I have ever played. absolutely fascinating seeing it broken down into it's core elements like this.
In-game, this song ramps up more instruments depending on if you're stopped or moving. Would you know which channels are added/removed? Or are the variants separate files?
Just experimented in-game to see. By the looks of it channels 1, 7, 11, and 12 only play when you're at full speed, and channels 3, 9, and 10 drop out if you come to a stop.
Overworld theme but the orchestra’s rehearsing
Just one thing missing to this masterpiece, for the 6th channel: the chugging. That song's not complete without the chuff chuff
YES!
thank you
All except 9 10 12 is nice, but they all are nice tbh
I want to see a Oscilloscope Decontruction of The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks Game Over.
damn channel 5
Create a discord and twitter!
I'm down 👍🏿
How do you deconstruct / do these videos ? What software or tool do you use ? It's very creative and nice to watch.
I'd love to use my favorite video game tracks and do the same to visualise them and appreciate the instruments individually.
does anyone know the instruments used for all the channels?
how do you solo tracks in vg music studio? do you have to check them one by one in the ui, no batch export?
Checking them one by one. I haven't found a way that makes all the individual channels as WAVs at once.
I was just about to go to bed and I just saw this pop in my feed dude you don't know how happy you make us feel dude you are single handedly restoring joy and nostalgia for hundreds of people man 🥲🥺
