As a guy who just got out of the hospital with a septics infection of the gut I’m convinced it was listeria from lunch meat over the 4th weekend ! Yes I do have a compromised immune system and if the hospital ignored my 105 f temp and tested for listeria I’d know for sure but they pounded me with 4 different antibiotics first and worried about what caused it later ! Here in northern Minnesota many people are getting sick but not much has been in the media !
@@37degreesnorth76 They want it to look like chaos. They want us to be so afraid of the safety of the food supply that we beg them to take control. And then it will become very interesting.
I know it’s a lot more work I’ve been baking turkey breast letting it cool and slicing sandwich slices same with roast beef. On the plus side no nitrates and additional preservatives. Hey, tastes better too!
Recalls happen and then end, but the problems remain, never to be solved. Once the recall has ended, it is back to buisness as usual, which leads to another recall in the near future...and then again, another recall. It is a broken record that just keeps on skipping back. We need real solutions.
I would think anything in the case could be contaminated. I think it could be in the air. I have seen deli cases with meats, cheese, salad, deserts. All kinds of food. You are suppose to really clean your home frig, if there was possible contaminated food. I am sure a lot of food got dumped in the last week.
Interestingly enough I received a recorded call from Target today stating someone at this number has purchased Boars Head Deli meats and explained how to get a refund. I probably bought it a couple months ago and used my Target Red Card. I do live in Minnesota.
I worked at Walmart deli a few years ago, for a store Grand Opening. The training was extensive for food safety, hygiene, cross-contamination, hourly verification of temperature in hot and cold food cases, etc. Once the store opened they brought people in from other stores who refused to follow the rules. One guy cut off half his hand improperly cleaning a slicer. Be careful who you trust.
That 2-3 month window is supposed to be more severe strains of listeria. Most people probably get sick by 2 days. I'm not touching any of it unless it's coming out of my oven.
I know around here Walmart does not carry Boar's Head so the meat does not affect them. Boar's Head seems to be in most supermarkets . There is no need for them to be so vague though. They know where those lots were shipped and trickling out information while people are at risk of sickness or death is an abdication of their duties from the plants to the feds. There needs to be a major overhaul in rules, regulations and procedures and nobody talks about it at all in politics or the media.
I baked our beef hotdogs at 400' degrees for 10-12 minutes turning them to cook all sides. Put them in hotdog buns and put them back in the oven still on 400 for about 2 minutes. Such a better hotdog. 😊..i used oscar myer beef bun length which are a little longer than the great value buns almost i used. The best way to cook them..if not grilled..tin foil on the pans , no cleanup..
I suggest farmers markets, for fruits and veggies. We get deli meat from a local bulk food store that gets its meats and cheeses mainly from Amish country in Ohio.
Have you noticed theres a ton of recalls for ALL of our food 🤔 surely this is a red flag to the world that something else is going on. Be prepared folks.
Advance Food International Inc., of Maspeth NY recalling Shahzada brand cinnamon powder in 7 oz packaging. Elevated lead levels in all of these cinnamon products is being reported.
I had subs at Publix for Boars head ham and turkey. My household never got sick two weeks ago in fact. All this happening is strange to us .But we will buy at a different time.
The cucumber plants in my garden are really prolific! I've been giving them away! I have a bunch in the fridge and a half gallon of sliced cucumbers in sugar and vinegar.
Keep a good pantry full of grains, legumes. Grow vegetables and fruits. Wash things thoroughly. Take food safety seriously. Fruit trees are great. They take years. Ground cherries, melons, berries, one season.
@amywamala - thrift stores are full of tiny hydroponics gardens. I have large 3 tier units from rise garden. Not everyone wants that, but they are for indoors. Full spectrum bulbs are not expensive. Most people have room for dwarf tomatoes or herbs. We grow more than most because of where I live (something grows year round) and because of our commitment to indoor hydroponics. Even growing 1% of your food, a handful of herbs gives you knowledge you may need later. It's also fun.
Trace the product upward to the main company, assume contamination in their other products. And contamination at the deli slicer itself it doesn’t get broken down and full washed between products. These companies have so much to gain from doing this, I said in early 2020 with that crash and on multiple vids, they’re (companies and their politicians) want a crash. They’re allowing these contaminated products, it wasn’t that long ago that they were fighting to deregulate and gut the fda. And they got it, and we’re paying the price
I work at a deli and there’s no way you can break down the slicers and sanitize everything after each use it would take to long and customers you get angry for having to wait for so long..we break down the slicers and clean when we can.. I have never seen anyone that works at a deli break down slicers after each use..
Did you hear that there was an explosion at a factory that makes Tylenol and some other drugs? I think they said it was in Turkey?? I only caught part of the film.
These meats might have been swapped during transit. Or they may have been mishandled during transport. I just not long had a boars turkey sandwich and had no problems. Even my friend's cat ate it. 😢
Just wanted to say that no links to videos appeared in the corners. I am watching on my phone. Maybe other people can see it. If nobody sees them maybe you can pin some direct links in the comments for those who havent seen them. 🤷♀️
Wash your hands & clean the equipment! Half ya'll don't even wash your hands after using the lavatory. Gross! Wipe your nose, pick a wedgie, swipe your phone & make a sandwich. Duh!
Next time you make a food safety video do not handle your phone, wipe your nose, touch your face & rub your eyes. When was the last time you cleaned your phone? Better do it now. Lol!

I would not be buying Boar's Head for the next few months. Of course, I wouldn't buy it anyway because it's the most expensive stuff in the deli case.
What a waste of animal lives. How sad is this!
Seems like nothing is safe anymore.

Emotional burnout and financial exhaustion is very visible now.
Those who control the food, controls the people

I truly appreciate the the you spend to keep us updated. Thank you.
Best idea is to avoid delis for a while. Cross contamination can happen at the meat slicer.

I feel for those folks who lost their lives from this! I hope this gets resolved soon.
Thank you Danno. I am done with deli counters for awhile.

All of our freezers are full of the meat we raised ourselves. Think we will just continue. I do miss though.
You called it. Said it was going to get worse, here we are.

I noticed that; at the beginning; the media were very careful to NOT tell us which states and which meat brands were involved.
American Spices LLC Ozone Park NY is just one source for cinnamon recall. Elevated lead levels being reported.
Finally heard it on my news in SC

This is scary and suspicious
Supreme Service Solutions also has a recall on vegetables (produce), which FDA states it is Kroger brand. Possible listeria contamination.

FYI the symptoms can take up to 70 days to show up, be vigilant just in case
IVE NEVER seen deli cheese or meat slicers being cleaned when i ordered some? so if the 1st cut was contaminated ALL after is too.
I'm not going to order a hoagie with boar's head for awhile
The cucumber plants in my garden are really prolific! I've been giving them away! I have a bunch in the fridge and a half gallon of sliced cucumbers in sugar and vinegar.
Deli meat today is too expensive. So who cares if they have to recall it!
Good evening Danno 😊
I only buy Boars head. No fillers etc. but for sure I’m done with deli meat for quite sometime.

Omg!!!! This is awful.
Cinnamon is in many everyday products now, so buyer beware.
Oatmeal, snacks, bread products etc...can all contain cinnamon
Anybody know why the Boars Head recall is not on the FDA website but the Wiers Farms products are ???
It is on the usda site. You have to keep up with both.
It looks like the usda only lists meat.

Hell, Yes! At the gym I see so many phones laid on the floor next to workout stations. Cross contamination every time they are picked up and handled.
Again
Boar’s Head isn’t greezing someone’s hand
