Said no bandmate ever
U can even see Kirk go a bit red he’s always had that inner child. I hate how Lars is looking at him that’s his bro. He obviously just had never played something like that. I love James so much but Kirk is overrall a better player. Then again who could imagine to sing and play riffs like James. Hell I don’t think James has not played a riff to perfection live. There all amazing I just wish it wasn’t always just James supporting Kirk it’s like Lars gets jealous just let them chill and jam and learn the riff together. All starring at him like he’s gotta do it right there and now.
I was never a fan of Metallica, but I'll at least say this for them. You can't confuse them with any other band.
1:53 best part
Kirk: can't we just use wah here to cover my mistakes like usual?
i've played enough music to know that musicians deserve every right to negotiate what they play. if they can't feel it, they can't really do it. sometimes you need to listen a few times to attain clarity on a piece, and sometimes it takes more. it's really beautiful how people can explain music to one another through example and otherwise.
Idc who you are there is always a riff that throws you a curveball.
I remember those days.
Why is Bob Rock holding a guitar? There is literally no reason for him to be anywhere near a guitar.
he played bass on st. anger
I'm sorry to hear that.
Steve McCord Not as much as I am when I listen the album :D
Steve McCord What an awesome answer bro!
because bob play guitar in the album, not hammet, hammet din^t play guitar well
"He's slowly learnings how to unplays the guitar"
Guitars ams a fickles mistress
Oh my god a perfect representation of this…
I love that they try to show him playing the riff at the end like YEAH HE NAILED IT..... but hes just playing open chords and like quarter notes and avoiding all the complexity of the original riff
0:21 everytime I play with my baby sister be like.
I think Kirk is a good guitarist but this riff is so easy.
We all have those days...Where you can't play the simplest riffs lol
just show's he's human xD
Happens to the best of us every now and then.
panterask8r14 too bad hes always been a huge flute sucker just like the whole overrated band, 80's was era when great metal was made and metallica wasn't one making it.
Jop3lius
troll.
nelson gibson yes that word does describe hammets guitar skills best
lars and james are like "fuck, we should've never kicked out dave"
I think Dave would've quit if he'd did St. Anger lol
5/6 years ago I would laugh at this but now I understand what he was going through. Thing is, when you start recording for studios as a session player or as a bandmate it’s hard to understand another person’s idea and implement it as your own. You’re basically trying to recreate sth that’s not yours. It’s a lot of pressure and it can be easier on some days but sometimes you really have to dig deep into it in order to actually play it even if it’s sth as simple as this.
