VALUE BASED MEDICINE | KIDNEY CARE
I will particularly be talking about Medicare's new Kidney Care Choices Models:
1) ETC - ESRD Treatment Choices model
2) KCF - Kidney Care First model
3) CKCC - Comprehensive Kidney Care Contracting model
This is actually my lecture from CardioRenal Connections Conference hosted by UT Health San Antonio in January 2021 - really honored they invited me.
For those of you that don't know what value based medicine is, it's a completely different methodology for paying doctors and healthcare entities.
Rather than being paid in a traditional fee-for-service way (meaning the more times you see a patient or do a procedure/surgery, the more you get paid), providers will be reimbursed based on improved health outcomes of their patients.

Could you do a video of how your office is implementing this with your clinic workflow and what your MA's or nurses say when they approach the pt with signing them up in this program? Thank you~

@@beatriztorres973 Well I actually left my practice a few months ago. But someone in the practice is supposed to get consent or atleast inform patient they are going into model. They have the right to change insurance or leave if they wish.

Not wasting money sounds reasonable. But hopefully it doesn't give insurance companies a green light to increase their refusal rates. There are already enough people at wit's end trying to avoid bankruptcy while paying for life-changing procedures. 😥

Your videos are very useful sir, People with one kidney can take Betaine HCl and digestive enzymes supplements safely for digestion and constipation problems, is there any problem with single kidney functioning?
