I really enjoy the mic with you chatting, it kinda seperates you from everyone else on RUclips just making videos ripping around. I thought the mic has been good everyday except that first day.
Yeah don’t loose the mic or the front quality video, I really like how I can see the video from your perspective. It helps me trying to learn how to ride.
Definitely don't give up the mic. Your on the fly commentary is what makes Muskoka Freerider so much better than any of the other sledding content. It's your down to earth, relatable attitude and banter that makes out feel like we're all part of your crew!
Your dad is awesome!! Jumped right up to look for signal of lost rider, after a couple long days riding...he is an animal!!! Ty again for another great video!!! I'm here in upstate ny with NO snow!!!!! I'm dying here!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree the audio as u ride is what brings me back it's like I'm there riding with u all even if it sounds screwy ... Another epic episode.... The fire was awesome that's my style..... Keep em coming.....
Love your commentary while riding, don't lose the mic :) Front Cam is better than side IMO Love low key days with a bonfire, way different tone than yesterdays video
Yep, like others offered, the mic is awesome to hear the comments. I like the under-visor mount for the camera better than the side mount. I switched to that as well after watching your Vlog setup video awhile back. Hope to get out and ride with you, but NOT up that drainage from yesterday...
I know the mic has been giving you trouble, but even despite those issues, I really prefer the mic over just the GoPro! Having your immediate commentary regarding conditions, terrain, and general tom-foolery is worth its weight!
Nice reminder on the avy training. The other day, there was an Avy 2 class down here in Colorado, by Winter Park. As crazy as this sounds, there was an avalanche about a half mile away ( if I remember correctly)from where the class was as they were finishing up. They got there shortly after (about 30 minutes after the slide). Sadly, there were a couple of casualties. Big slide that came down onto a lake. It was heavy enough to push the ice down and put the water on top. That was where one of the recoveries was. They got the other guy the next day. No beacon on him. We lost another guy last year in the same spot. Be careful guys.
Me and probably many more don't care "how good" the mic is, we all love it tho. I feal like it belongs to you and it is you (If you get what i mean). The mic is a MUST! And keep the original GoPro POV. It gives a honest and real view. It's also a angle that I'm (and many more riders) are familiar with, especially when we also ride.
You gunna do a camping trip this season? Seeing you use the sled as a log hauler got me excited to see some camping content 😆 either way the uploads are on point and love seeing a quick switch up. A fire in the mountains is the most bliss thing in the world. Nothing but great people and amazing views with a warm comfort feeling from the fire. You cant lose out there!
I vote for full mic up....its part of what makes your vids great. From sled to logging truck....impressive...lol... See ya on the next one... From my slushy igloo on the mountain in alberta Canada 🇨🇦 D.
Work, why work when Matt uploads a new video. What better way to start Monday than watching Matt's Sunday riding video. Thanks for the warning of content might be done for the next few days with you having training.
I enjoy watching the action from under the visor and having the mic is AWESOME! I love hearing you talk about stuff while you ride. I also like hearing the sled in the background but the noise is not overly loud. Keep crushing it!
under the visor is the GOAT as far as Gopro mounting. also the nice mic definately ads to the quality of vids. Ive always liked the story telling of each day it feels like your riding along with the group.
Love your videos! Great content and keeps me thinking back to when I rode. Was just sharing your channel to mom and dad who I rode with. And friends too. Was just telling them about your over night video the other week. You should make a, "I got stuck by Freerider Films", sticker and just stick any sled you come by or offer it to the rider at least. You also need merch to resemble the, "More Cowbell" skit on SNL but "more throttle" or "more pow" I'm going to need some samples to approve. 😉 great work. Keep the mic too by the way. Love the commentary, even the audio dips around. Great work on your excavating channel too!
Hey Matt love the videos were in southern Ontario and still waiting for the season to start so living through you guys right now. my son is 4 and asks every night to watch muskoka free rider keep up the great job
Under the visor is best for the GoPro for sure. Most natural looking. As for the mic, you probably need to get something that has a bit of a water resistant rating maybe? The 509 helmet is more open so I'd say a lot of water, snow, and moisture is building up on it. More than when you ran the CKX Titan.
Don’t loose the mic, it really helps the video stay interesting and it sets u apart from so many other RUclipsrs, keep doing what ur doing we all love it thanks
Visor mount for the win also the back bumper pole mount is really cool as well , it’s wicked being able to see how you shift your weight and your foot work while in the trees , great video as always 🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟
Was wondering if you were going to do one of those overnights again when I saw the Silky in your kit the other day. Big up to Jerry for getting right in to "go mode" when you said someone was buried. Great group of riders you have there man.
Don’t get rid of the mic man I love the commentary and camaraderie! Also for me personally I like the visor GoPro mount the best. Absolutely love all your videos
Stick with the visor mount. I think the hypersmooth in the GoPro on the side makes the helmet look choppy compared to the terrain, like it’s trying to focus on both and can’t pick which one.
On my wife account. Where is the " see u in the next one" where that go lol I gave u the idea working vids and snowmobile vid. Great content. Awesome videos. Keep killing it.
I carry a couple of my wife’s tampons in my sledding gear for lighting fires with wet wood. Dip it in the gas tank and you’ve a good 5 minutes of burn to get your fire started with wood that may not be the most dry.
Hey Matt, I was wondering where you purchased the mounting bracket that is on your tunnel to attach the Milwaukee tool box. That's a great idea. Would love to do the same with my machine. Thanks in advance. Francis
I like either go pro angle, it’s cool seeing both views. Also, I’m a fan of the mic no matter if it’s a little muffled. Lastly, I like seeing the avy search stuff you do with the guys. Keep it up 👍🏻
Matt. Good Luck on your Test. Also it is awesome what you are Doing for your other Riders in the Testing them. PS. Be Safe Matt. And drink more Protein shakes to help recovery of your Muscles. Peace
Love the mic on the front mount. The way you have always been doing it the side one makes it feel like my head is twisted and I don't enjoy the view as much and love your videos. I wake up immediately. Look for your video
I like the visor mount more than the side mount too. You should try out chin mounting though, that's what a lot of MTB videos do and it works really well.
You'll note in First Person Shooter video games they'll display the gun a person is carrying. This is to provide context. Reduces motion sickness, etc. I like to put my camera to the side of my helmet so that the helmet provides some context. But, I snowbike. The front of your snowmobile does provide pretty good context. Although, I think the helmet provides the best context. The worst is when there is no context, just looks like the person filmed floating through the air. My favorite is when you do the combo of helmet cam and cam on the very back and a camera on the front pointing back. I know, 3 cameras is a pain. But, that is the best viewing experience. I think that is better than the 360 warped perspective.
I've ran the side mount for years for my camera and love it. And I think u should stay with the mic. Even though yesterdays vid was a lil bust due to the mic. I still loved it good video as always 👍
Definitely need to keep the microphone, it's the major reason I come to watch your videos honestly. I also greatly prefer the original camera setup (straight forward, no helmet in view). I believe your original recipe is the best, and I think that it greatly contributed to your crazy growth in the past year.
New to snowmobiling have a 2021 skidoo 850 non turbo I noticed you’re dad running a blue oil should I be running the xps etec brand oil or something else
Have you considered running a separate audio recorder from the camera and syncing them in post? I've heard of some software that will sync the channels automatically but I don't recall the name.
Can you do a video in the avy training? The people putting it on might not allow it but it would be cool to see. Also who did you have make your stickers?
Don’t loose the mic…even poor quality commentary is better than none. It’s what truly sets you far above and beyond others trying to do what you do.
Agree!!
Agreed!!
Exactly what I was about to comment!
Keep trying to get the mic to work. 100% one of the best parts!
Bingo 👍🏼
I really enjoy the mic with you chatting, it kinda seperates you from everyone else on RUclips just making videos ripping around. I thought the mic has been good everyday except that first day.
Yes, and please don't use that side mount. It's not as good as the front mount.
Good too see everyone is on the same page as me haha I’ll keep working on mic quality!
Agreed. I'm not a fan of drones and music for 30 min vids..
Yeah don’t loose the mic or the front quality video, I really like how I can see the video from your perspective. It helps me trying to learn how to ride.
Mic is definitely unique and very enjoyable, front camera is much better than the side! Thanks for the awesome content
Definitely don't give up the mic. Your on the fly commentary is what makes Muskoka Freerider so much better than any of the other sledding content. It's your down to earth, relatable attitude and banter that makes out feel like we're all part of your crew!

Really appreciate the constant avalanche beacon training scenarios. The more you show it on your videos, the more we get people into training.
i love when you post bc i watch them on the bus and end like right when i get to school
Not sure if you have the time but a tour of what you bring with you to the mountains would be nice sometime.
You’re dad is awesome! Always ready to help out. The way he immediately jumped off the sled ready after a long day shows his character
I agree the audio as u ride is what brings me back it's like I'm there riding with u all even if it sounds screwy ... Another epic episode.... The fire was awesome that's my style..... Keep em coming.....
Love your commentary while riding, don't lose the mic :)
Front Cam is better than side IMO

Thanks!
I also love the mic. It's nice to hear the commentary with the riding it makes the video a lot more enjoyable to watch
I like the first camera angle, I feel like the second one loses alot of screen space to your helmet
Another entertaining video from the best RUclipsr. Keep up the great work. The commentary while riding is really nice to hear what’s is going on.
The camera on the side is my favorite and it is great to hear you talk during driving.👍. Thanks for great videos.
Can’t lose the mic! The mic is why I subscribed. I love the story and chit chat while absolutely ripping. Keep up the great content🙏🏼
the mic is a must, that’s what makes your content so enjoyable!
I was watching an old video waiting for this video, amazing content, thanks for filming it so we can enjoy it!
Big fan keep the good work up and have a good season and you showed me a lot of skills and will youse skills love the videos
You gunna do a camping trip this season? Seeing you use the sled as a log hauler got me excited to see some camping content 😆 either way the uploads are on point and love seeing a quick switch up. Wooooooo morning dose of Muskoka! 🙌
I vote for full mic up....its part of what makes your vids great.

I do like both the GoPro and the mic and just the go pro. But I enjoy hearing you commentate on the mic more. Be safe!!
under the visor is the GOAT as far as Gopro mounting. also the nice mic definately ads to the quality of vids. Ive always liked the story telling of each day it feels like your riding along with the group.

Muskoka Senior is a true superman, he rides hard all day and he is the first one to offer assistance when others get stuck.
Your doing awesome sir. Perfect amount of beats in the back round thank you
I prefer the under visor mount…. And not the side mount for the helmet gopro.
X2 on that comment 👍
Hey Matt love the videos were in southern Ontario and still waiting for the season to start so living through you guys right now. my son is 4 and asks every night to watch muskoka free rider keep up the great job

The 509 helmet is more open so I'd say a lot of water, snow, and moisture is building up on it. More than when you ran the CKX Titan.
I ran the 509 last year and the mic sounded perfect in it
I don't care for the side mount gopro. I love the chatting in the mic, so hopefully you can keep that. Thanks for another fun vid!
Don’t loose the mic, it really helps the video stay interesting and it sets u apart from so many other RUclipsrs, keep doing what ur doing we all love it thanks
Keep up the videos love em! ❤️ don't ever stop going after ur dreams! Send some snow my way lol!
.5 seconds into the video and i can already tell you its a certified Muskoka freerider banger of a video 🤘
Visor mount for the win also the back bumper pole mount is really cool as well , it’s wicked being able to see how you shift your weight and your foot work while in the trees , great video as always 🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟
Can’t wait for this years snow den and over night bon fire. Better to practice so you can survive 😊
Awesome content, I appreciate all the work you do and the time and dedication to the sport!
Love the drone footage turned out awsome
Don’t go away from the mic! Commentary is what sets you apart. I enjoy all your videos
I definitely like the visor mount, great channel! Appreciate your videos
Definitely keep the mic. I really enjoy your commentary. Much more enjoyable to watch. Keep up the good work Matt!
I really enjoy the real-time voice over and hope it continues!
I like the view with the bars in it
I LOVE the MIC!! Makes us feel more engaged somehow lol.
Stick with the visor mount. I think the hypersmooth in the GoPro on the side makes the helmet look choppy compared to the terrain, like it’s trying to focus on both and can’t pick which one.
Great video. Nothing better then a fire in the woods
That gen5 looks like it's just floating on the top of the snow. Great vids again.
I always use a big dry stump for fires. Burns way better and it doesn’t sink in the snow and you don’t have to get firewood at all. Cheers.
I literally dream of the life you’re living, man! Hope to make it a reality sooner than later. 🙏🏼 Thanks for the great content as always.
Don't stop trying to make the mic work! A nice balance of two stroke noises and commentary is what makes your channel great!
i love your format for videos ! your triggering my love for snowmobiling again!
had to sell my sled in 2019 😔
You're doing a great job definitely don't put a bunch of music in your videos I hate that
Keep the mic the commentary is good! Also nice without music!
I like the viser view the most because it showes the snowmobile more and centred more but that’s me personally
I figured you were going to hella sore from yesterdays shenanigans hahah rest up Matt
I definitely personally prefer the visor mount but the side mount brings some nice turbo noises to the mix
On my wife account. Where is the " see u in the next one" where that go lol I gave u the idea working vids and snowmobile vid. Great content. Awesome videos. Keep killing it.
Great vids as usual. Love your adventures
I carry a couple of my wife’s tampons in my sledding gear for lighting fires with wet wood. Dip it in the gas tank and you’ve a good 5 minutes of burn to get your fire started with wood that may not be the most dry.

Jerry #1 is slaying this year👍
Was a good rest day that I think we needed. Lol can’t wait to get back out
Keep up the sick riding!!!
How did you mount your pack out kit? Also where did you get the mount? I wanna do, looks nice to have! Simple slim and can add on to it if needed.
Love the mic on the front mount. The way you have always been doing it the side one makes it feel like my head is twisted and I don't enjoy the view as much and love your videos. I wake up immediately. Look for your video
Hope ya recovered after yesterday, awesome vids Matt
At 7:00 did you hit a tree and edit it out?
the mic is awesome please keep it! and the normal GoPro spot is mint keep it.
Keep it top kamera! Looks so nice there! Keep up the good work man!!
I like the visor mount more than the side mount too. You should try out chin mounting though, that's what a lot of MTB videos do and it works really well.

love the side camera! also love some avalanche safety stuff just dont get too safe (aka boring) after your ASTL2.
I like the second cam on your helmet but it be cool going back and forth
I've ran the side mount for years for my camera and love it. And I think u should stay with the mic. Even though yesterdays vid was a lil bust due to the mic. I still loved it good video as always 👍
Camera under the visor is defiantly the best

I believe your original recipe is the best, and I think that it greatly contributed to your crazy growth in the past year.
Hey Matt, no, thank YOU for POSTING todays video!👍
Don't forgo the mic... definitely a good addition to the videos--and visor cam is better than side cam. Keep truckin!
New to snowmobiling have a 2021 skidoo 850 non turbo I noticed you’re dad running a blue oil should I be running the xps etec brand oil or something else
Keep up the videos!
Have you considered running a separate audio recorder from the camera and syncing them in post? I've heard of some software that will sync the channels automatically but I don't recall the name.
How have you mounted your gopro that you have infront of you?
Killer run yesterday....
I prefer the regular forward facing go-pro and with the mic. Set up is tried and true. Wouldn't change it up too much.
Can you do a video in the avy training? The people putting it on might not allow it but it would be cool to see. Also who did you have make your stickers?
The camera mounted on the front gets my vote.
I was curious how many days you could go hard like that! The side camera was a nice change, enjoy the original point of veiw though
Front mounted camera is better by far….love your videos!
THANKS FOR THE VID!!!!
