Best entertainment on the internet!!! Wow, Matt what a great job documenting this and editing for us. Friggian incredible! Im so happy is was the P22 and not the engine after that crazy wide open pull!! Hopefully Polaris will get you back up and running soon. I would go P85, and not run that P22.......so many issues with it. Thanks Again for the smiles, laughs, cringes, smirks, and conversations generated on a regular basis due to your incredible content. Cheers!
There's several shops setting up the p85 for the 9r. Same crank taper, so it's just a bolt on and check alignment. Since the secondary is the same you can screw the deflection adjustment bolt in from an 850
One thing I’ve learned in my 40 years being on this earth, is that even though it absolutely sucks in the moment, the total shitshow days we all go thru from time to time are the ones you remember most, and laugh about the hardest with friends years later.
So 29K for a turbo doo, broken less than 1400km, broken Polaris less than 1000KM cost 26K. These manufactures prices and reliability issues are so outta touch.
Thing is this is the absolute most extreme use for sleds period. Manufactures have tried to squeeze as much performance out as possible out of the two-stroke, its really not surprising that they blow up Now if they could make a four stroke that was as light as a two stroke….
Agreed, but when your spending that type of money. As riders we expect a little better reliability. Plus if you don’t snow check your machine. Your only offered 1 year of warranty….. Also, who is buying a used machine with 1500km with all these issues, paying 20K.
This is what the sleds were designed for and failed horribly. He's gonna be back on that old reliable yellow summit. 4 strokes don't like being upside-down so they'll never take off
One thing snowmobiling will teach you is to be humble🤣. When your shit runs good always lend a hand to the guy who's struggling, because you might be the guy needing help in 5 minutes or the next day! Either way, nothing with snowmobiling ever seems like it's "plug and play", always forgetting some gear or the cabin keys, or the propane for the grill. I lost a brand new iphone 13 on the 1st of this year into fresh 6 feet of powder. Gotta love the sport!!!🤣
Dang Matt, I now understand why we didn't get a video yesterday. I was so bummed, but now it all makes sense. What an adventure, that 2-up ride out was wild. Good to know that you have your sleds back already and they are fixed. Love the content and can't wait for you to be back riding. Keep it up Matt.
I can't say enough how awesome the content was in this episode! The beautiful mountains, amazing airial go pro footage and the best part IMO was the side by side riding. It must of been so challenging and I appreciate the footage. Thanks for sharing
One of your worst days on the mountain, but I gotta say, it turned into one of my favorite videos! Seeing the views from the Helicopter ride and how fast you got that done was really cool. Sometimes the most experienced riders make the best decisions by knowing when they need to bring in reinforcements! Really cool episode Matt! Thanks for being awesome!
@@fairbanksairriders and it didn't leave him on the hill also to me that's a really big deal. heli rides are not cheap! also I think if the reed went into the piston it would not be ready to ride as he says in the video but will see I guess!
@@NightshiftCustom Replacing that clutch is way easier to do than replacing a reed/piston/motor. Like Matt said - if it wasn't gonna snow at that location for the next 4-5 days, he'd just ride up and replace the clutch up there. Derek's chain case however.....
Great video! Every time you guys went flying off the sled had me laughing so hard, my wife thought something was wrong with me! 😂 really cool to see the heli-rescue
Doubling out of an area can get really western in a hurry. I love It!!! Lol Thanks for another great adventure Matt!!! Oh yeah......That slab Looked pretty thick on the ridge!!! WOW! Stay safe guys!
Such a great video! The content you put out is top notch, Matt. Got such a kick out of you guys doubled up trying to ride out. I bet that had to of been quite a workout! The heli rescue seemed like a pretty easy situation, all things considered. The pilots seemed very helpful as well so shout out to those guys! Keep up the hard work, Matt!
I've got to say Matt, this was the funniest video watching you guys ride two up on the way down was SUPER entertaining. You guys can ride the hell out of those things - thanks for the content.
Keystone, one of my favourite riding zones in revy! Had to double out back from cabin before also, not the best area to double out of, but you guys did awesome,, thanks for the videos
No doubt todays content was the most expensive ever. It was cool to see how they rig them and, till that point, you guys had some great riding. Sorry it ended that way but..... its all part of the potpourri of life. Thanks for all your efforts to keep great vids coming our way.
Man crazy day, heli sled footage was the best. Little advice from sled snowboarding crew that doubles on the regular.. when riding double let driver have hands on both side of bars like normal. Rider holds mountain bar under drivers arms underhanded with right hand. Then rider lightly holds left bar end lightly. You don’t need full grip just enough to balance. When sidehilling on right side you can switch left hand underhanded to mountain bar and hold lightly on drivers pack pretty much giving him a hug. Hope you don’t get another chance to try it. 🤘
I was laughing my arse off on the double riding out with you and Jordan haha! Glad it all worked out in the end, could have been so much worse. Absolutely epic video Matt. Wish it was 3 hours long!
Oh man, I have been up there 4 or 5 times and I have always lived in terror of having to heli out a sled. You guys ride better with 2 of you on the sled than we do by ourselves. too cool. Glad you all made it out.
I'll stick with my old snowpony, sure she may be 20yrs old but it goes where the new ones do and I know my machine is damn near bulletproof😎 Good luck out there fellas🤙
Love the heli view! I’m a lineman and have seen that view being suspended under a heli doin line work. Been living and sledding in bc for many years. Nowhere near as skilled as your crew but enjoy your vids ! Keep it up 🍻
The last time I had the Monster Wide open time, it wasn't the Clutch, I just remember Silence and the Wine down of the Track!!!! Watched everything, great Vid, ready for Part 2!
The best way I've found to double is to just put them in front of you like a little kid. I've doubled my 250lbs cousin up some massive hills so he could snowboard down lol.
The footage of the sled flying through the air under the heli has to be one of the greatest shots I've seen in a while, the music makes it! Good on ya for thinking to put a gopro on the sled while it was being flown out 👍🏻
You have a awesome group of guys 2 ride with been watching you for 2 years and I enjoy the content very much I haven't been able to ride for 2 years do to a major foot surgery so I been ride the hell out of my chair with you keep up the great videos
Great content as always! It takes strong shoulders to day in, day out ride and publicly show equipment failures as they happen in real time. In doing so you can fully anticipate the hard brand bashing you’re about to receive from the online community when really you’re doing everyone a service by providing information on weak points that possibly need attention. Every manufacturer has strong and weak points regardless of what people have to say so it’s better to support the very few transparent content creators who openly show equipment issues instead of to brand bash them.
That 9R of yours was sounding boggy and off for that whole ride, was likely on its way out then, but been there when the vis and snow is good... holder to the bar!!🍺🍺
That was quite the adventure. Definitely the reason why your content far exceeds everyone else’s. You show absolutely everything good and bad with sleddin. Very unbiased view and the way you deal with any situation makes you so relatable. One question, @Turcotte16 runs a 9R as well and seems harder on his than you are on yours. Wondering how many problems he’s had. Would be interesting to see two different viewpoints on the same sled.
Awesome. Crazy day matt. we the skiers when riding double I have 1 person that is in control of the brake and the throttle and the passenger just holds onto the mountain bar.
I spent 100k + on trying to build a bulletproof Harly, there is always a weak link. It’s all in the game. When you ride over the limit it costs 💵 Thanks for the great vids bud👊
Would a can of black or bright paint be good to have in your pack? May never need to mark an LZ but would have a lot of other safety uses too. Not sure if aerosol would work at that altitude?
Another awesome video Matt!! I couldn't imagine doubling out off the mountain. It's hard enough on a groomed trail, you guys make it look easy. I'm glad to see you got your sleds fixed, those guys are awesome at the shops you deal with. Let's hope the chain case parts aren't on backorder so Deryk can get back out so he doesn't have to go home early.
Awesome job Matt and the rest of the guys. Team work and being prepared got you out of a jam. I like the detailled video of your day to day excursions. Keep up the great work!!!! Cheers

Same exact thing happened to me last week on my 9R23. Unfortunately mine also spun on the crank. I love my 9R but the P22 might have issues. After all they are just machines. Thank you for your content I watch you everyday.

FYI, that splitscreen helmet and drone footage is a fire view! Love your videos man!!!! So damn jealous everytime....
Blew up a chain case once. Sidehilling* above a drainage and thwack. Locked her up solid. Took some work to get that thing back to the trailer.

Belt drive vs chaincase looking better and better.
And for those who say "why can't the manufacturers make these better for the price"
They probably can't. They could maybe add 4-5k more beefing these sleds up but this type of riding is pushing this equipment to the max. 20 years ago, people didn't ride like this. Wide open spinning 3" 165" track put so much stress all across the drive train.
What they probably need to do is rethink trail vs mountain drive train and maybe seriously beef up mountain sleds, which will come with a weight penalty.
Either way, great content
This is by far my favourite episode 👍🏼
This was awesome. I'd to see the drone view of you 2 on that sled coming down the hill!!
Def the worst day I've seen, but the best video so far lol. And I'm really depressed because you guys ride better double than I do single
I want to see more doubles competition, jumps and tree rides.
@ 37:26 - You can hear the brakes rubbing on the rotor. I can hear that when I drive my Khaos down the trail. Did you always here that on yours?
That ride out was a hell of an adventure
Great job with this video 👏🏻👏🏻 Most entertaining channel on RUclips for sure ✌🏻
That two up side by side ride was like a weird trust exercise, lol
Great video.
Welcome to Keystone a beautiful place to ride. Not a good place to break down.
This was an awesome video! It sucks that your machines broke but shows what can happen and you still made the best of it! You guys are great 🤘🔥😎
I switched to cats 5 years ago for the same reasons, yes they were a bit behind the times,, but ultra reliable.
