Mate R50 going in for MOT in the morning. Live in the NE of Scotland and this video just saved me. Top man. The thing had snapped so just plugged them in and bypass the diode. Thank you so much 👍😁
Hey friend, thanks for sharing this video, I think I have the same problem with the diode that is in that white box, my mini is 2008 and I hope this white box is in that position.I bought the brake switch but I think the problem is this diode, since this is not permanent.
you could just solder a new diode in there, pop one out of any old electronic device if you can see the value on the old one great but most will works anyway, A diode is a one way street for electricity so just connecting the 2 wires together may work but it is bidirectional, must be a reason they used a diode, maybe to protect the footwell module.
Great fix. A bugger to get out. Eventually I resorted to removing the seat, thought that might just be down to being a leftie (hand not political leaning). took two minutes to replace the diode. BMW mini were no help.
Hi I got a mini one 2007 my abs pump went I replaced it got it programmed the Abs light is off no code found now but I have the red brake light on even when I put hand brake down I replaced brake pads and sensor and light still on it's says park light when you drive it any idea to what it can be
The red brake warning light is also an indicator for low brake fluid. Is it low? The sensor could be at fault. Wiring could be an issue. I'm not sure where the wiring goes, the ABS module perhaps.
Hello I have this problem in a Mini Cooper car 2002 I replaced the unit brakes it did not help I found the burnt diode and fixed it with a new one and it did not help You have no idea what to do I can not arrange it in any way
The brake light switch would be another place to look. Will be at the top of the brake pedal. Other than that it's down to checking the wiring is good before going to a BCM fault.
I have the same problem. I can't find the diode anywhere. I took apart the BCM and removed the black tape in the wiring harness. Everything looked clean dry and intact. did you find any other solutions? I have a 2005 r50 mini base model
@@starbillie1Did you sort it out? Got this failure randomly yesterday. I havent been using the car for the past 3 months, but suddenly my brake lights stayed on even with the ignition off.

Glad to hear it and thanks for the sub!
Legend mate!! Fixed in less than 5 minutes 👍
It's still useful! Fixed my 2002 Cooper today. Thanks.
Thanks for the video. It took me straight to my issue. Cheers

Glad it helped!
How to call for that item, please
You absolute legend😎 just fixed mine doing that😁 thank you!!!

I solved the problem, thanks for the video 😀
Excellent news 😁
Thank you it worked perfect!
Glad it helped!

do you happen to know wich diode values to use as replacment
How do you call for that item, please
Good stuff m8
Can you do this for lci ?
Can't seem to find this on my 2004 mini cooper
Some models don't have it. I think its only early versions that do.
is this the same on a r56?
Im 95% certain this won't be the same on an R56.
I have a 2003 mini cooper s and I can’t find it
I have the same car. It was wrapped together with other wires tucked deep under the foam
I pulled out the BCM, looked everywhere and the diode case was nowhere to be found. I was very disappointed. Any other ideas?

found the solution i’m in the same boat i can’t find it anywhere
Found mine same area but in with wires under the tape
