i have 6hrs at 2 beaches and all i have to show are beaver tails, zip tabs a couple modern tabs along with molten blobs of old beer cans, ill take a fake ring at this point🤣
I haven't taken the Legend to a beach yet, but I do see a lot of others do it, and it looks like a process to find the spots where coins wash up together, but once you do...it can be epic! And if you want a treat, go hit the sand volleyball courts at the end of the day, coins and jewelry almost always seem to end up there.
What version are you running? v1.13? I found a ton more nickels with 1.09 but I don't know why. As far as the trashy areas and coils it depends on what you really want to find, the LG15 great for quick 1-3" coins etc in trashy area, with jewelry High recovery speed. I have all the coils except the LG35. The only one I haven't tested out a lot yet is the LG24. Maybe I will give it a go today. The LG15 though, in a playground or next to a metal fence, or concrete with rebar, at high recovery with lower sensitivity will still sniff out a coin almost right next to those items. My favorite coil is still the old standby LG28. I like that you talk about the VDI numbers, I do that too, because I feel it really helps new detectorists get a feel for the Legend, nothing beats field time, but it is helpful. Pulltabs = rings. But on occasion, I have dug that non repeatable signal bc of that inner detectorist ESP and have dug a ring. I really like this machine for what I am using it for. Great video, I need to get my butt out there and get some new footage, lol.
I'm in 1.13, also find few nickels, but try to dig all the 25s I can. Many times it's just the beaver tail with no pull tab attached. I only have the stock lg30 coil but found a deal on a lg24 so will do some testing with it soon. Yeah I always like to hear the numbers people dig. It helps me learn so I do it too in my vids. Keep yours coming too. It does take a lot of time and planning, and sometimes I just want to jump in the car and go for a couple hours after work
I found a buffalo nickel coin roll hunting( in Canada to boot!!!) 1913 in xf condition, it's a $20 nickel I found, and my most expensive circulation coin
I dont dig every target in really trashy area, i just walk through it and if i randomly like a tone and it repeats from all angles, then ill dig it, last weekend i went through such an area and a vape really caught my ear, it was a really loud high tone, but turned out to be just junk, it was also on the surface only half sunk into the ground but i didnt see it because it was grass green I have a big 4.75g 750 italian gold ring, that reads 28 on the legend, i find most pulltabs ring up 27
Isn't it funny how once we get used to a machine's sounds, we can start to tell the difference between junk and something worth digging?! Just takes lots of time with it. And yes, gold can show up in that trashy region so often
What's the best thing you've dug with the Legend that fell in the 20's for target ID number?
Once again, very informative! Keep them coming!
Thanks Merryl, will do!

Don’t even use the word BIG Shovel in Detecting Vocabulary. it will get you a NO try to get permission. (Recovery Tool that makes very good plugs). 😃
