it looks like he was using a tool that was even moving the pieces for him. i feel like most cheaters just check engine moves but this guy is like "nah, that's too much work". that, or he knows a thing or two about chess, but i doubt a player like that would resort to cheating

You don't think a human could find a hanging pawn in a locked position like that? Once that pawn falls the floodgates open, and it was one of the only weaknesses to focus on.
First of all, pieces can not be demoted, that is impossible. Secondly, the bishop was no longer serving a good purpose and would soon be forced away from that square by pawns, so it was retreated by choice, not force, to a safe square with more prospects in the future.

Even when Super GM's like Hikaru do speedruns it takes them way longer than that to reach that elo. You'd lose way too many times past the 2000 level before getting there. And if you actually had the skills to do so, you would not be an unknown/unrated chess player.
