I played a cheater a few weeks ago and played like 6 games with him while he was being toxic in chat and playing the top move every time, thoroughly enjoyed getting my 49 points back 15 minutes later
Justin is a legend 😂 he played mind games with the cheater so He/she would get confident enough to play on their own and got away with a stalemate 😂 what a gigachad move
tbf you can hit like mid-1000s without being well-versed on tactics. problem is you won't move up any more than that since most of your opponents definitely will be
As a sub 1000 ELO player, sometimes I play games where it tells me I have like 2 brilliant moves and I get worried I'm going to get banned for randomly doing the right thing lol
Amazing exposure by Justin, did the only thing that essentially forced the cheater to consider playing their own moves to expose that they weren't on that level.
Maybe a week a go i had the random thought “belle delphine is probably back to getting simps to give her money” and i checked and 2 hours before she had uploaded a video
I got accused of cheating in a game where I had three blunders and lots of inaccuracies, but the dude blundered again at the end and said I was cheating and cussed me out! I was like 700ish at the time.
Not really anyone's fault here. Cheating has increased so much in online chess that it's natural that all players suspect one another of cheating when they are playing well. Even top gms are accusing each other of cheating these days.
Slightly??? Then what is a huge clickbait for you my friend?? Ok, I mean this one is slightly a clickbait but look at his other stuff haha. Still everytime there is a lot of learnings in Levy's videos. How not to play Chess😂😂
That last game, I suspect he was 100% missing the checkmates on purpose because he was trying to BM by capturing every piece before mate Which makes it even funnier that he managed to stalemate.
Many years ago, I used to play in Yahoo Chess. The ammount of cheaters was over the roof, and no mechanisms to kick the out was at place. Now I am back to online playing, on Lichess. I hope there are less cheating there.
I got accused of cheating last week. My opponent hung their bishop in the opening then said I was cheating because "the time between moves"and "playing in the beginning middle and endgame".
I had someone spam me because he lost his queen through a discovered check, he said i was cheating and reported my account that was the biggest compliment ever one of my best games 😂
Judging from the last game ,the cheaters real rating is probably about 300-400. No matter how tunnel visioned you get, queen and rook ladder mate with the rook in front is just impossible to blunder. You can actually premove the sequence without worrying about king moving closer and capturing one of the pieces.
I played somebody earlier who played what looked like really stupid moves for the opening part of the game, then took a full 2 minutes before escaping a check, and now suddenly he's a grandmaster. I resigned rather than waste my time with somebody who was only interested in gaining a few ratings points. They think that they can get away with cheating if they play a few bad moves, but it's so obvious that they're using nextmove or similar. Frustratingly, of the two main sites I use, only one bans cheats, the other just gives them a red X on thier profile and allows them to carry on. It's getting to the stage where it's hardly worth playing at all anymore.
Some moves are a bit tricky to get, but if you know how to play you can spot when someone skips really obvious moves or a "good" player suddenly starts to undefend pieces and miss obvious blunders out of nowhere
in the range between 1500-1800 about 80% of the games are manipulated if you play via the app. while the desktop version is slightly better to play since you can't have the analysis board opened simultaneously. this site as well as the players are pure cancer to this beautiful game
The first game, openings are so standard now, like everyone knows openings, almost every single possible move has been made. Not hard to belive someone knows a opening
Some of your early cheater videos from a long time ago are what caused me to stumble across your videos on a youtube trail starting at "times when speedrunners got caught cheating" really glad that it lead me to your channel because even though I don't really play chess, your videos are just great so I can keep up on the chess world from a pure curiosity standpoint. Really appreciate your videos, keep up the great work!
The chess game doesn't say that you have to read the letters from A to Z, it doesn't have to say that you have to move this piece because it's a proper way and it's a professional. The point is how you win the game, to lose some pieces or to gain some is not the key.
I always saw that move when I was at my first elo rating. 300 😂 Now that Im 1100 I grin whenever I see it again with a thought to my head "He thinks Im dumb. Now Im gonna punish him."
The nice thing about being a beginner - never heard of stockfish and don’t see the point of cheating at 1156 - i tend to play at my level, occasionally playing 1400 - i do ok for a while, but invariably get outplayed
Ive been accused of cheating when i play a 85+ game even though im just a 1100/1300. I also play poorly at time (usually while comuting and tired of work)
It's the 'resign' that's the sealing move that gives away they are cheating. As soon as the eval bar goes a certain distance they resign... it's so consistent they have to be using an engine of some sort.
I was accused of cheating (sandbagging) once. Because I played too "fast" in rapid. Well shoot me for liking blitz. Had a accuracy of less than 70%, so that answered that question.
Ive gotten called a cheater despite my abysmal elo because i really dont know how to play well and just shotgun out moves that sometimes are really good but i dont realize
I knew a guy that i was in school with, i was so young that i did not understand he was cheating, but this gave me a way to catch cheaters better, they randomly resign cause they accidentally close stockfish.
Levy, please understand that cheating at the lowest levels of chess is even worse. 300-700 elo you will face the most cheaters of your career, and it’s usually obvious, when someone goes from blundering every move to suddenly only playing best moves for the rest of the match
I don't know, maybe it's since I'm not too much into it, but I use a Random Number Generator. Every time the number lands between 20 and 40, I use stockfish to help me that game. I only hover around 1100-1000
If I had a nickel for everytime Levy uploaded a video while playing a tournament and then ended up losing that match, I'd have 2 nickels (for today and the last IMSCC). Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
there is so many cheaters out there, its unbelievable. the thing is tho, a good cheater does not use all the engine moves but understands the idea behind some moves the engine is telling him. that makes it nearly impossible to be detected. i played against so many cheaters on lichess. people that lose against 500 and suddenly win against me (1600) with some moves that look so un-human. but yeah, its mostly 2nd or 3rd engine move.
Cheated to get to a very high elo. Realized he was probably under suspicion, and purposely lost x amt of games in a row. Does that sound like it's reasonable possibility?
I'll never get chess cheaters. What fun is there in being an intermediary in a game between a bot and a random person? You're not even playing the game. It's fucking stupid.
I’m gonna be honest I don’t think this was a cheater. Im a 2300 and a think It was all very human moves. Also the last game people like to punish players for not resigning by having a bit of fun. It’s weird that levy makes it look so obvious.
They could be, although there is a lot of risk for people who play chess professionally so I wouldn’t assume it is that many in the top 100 specifically. Below professional player level though, it’s basically risk free.
What cheating does to those people is only feed their ego. Their online ELO really goes up fast, but then their IRL skills on chess goes the opposite direction. lol
I am 1700 in rapid and sometimes I just wake up with my brain totally turned off and knowing it's not my day I still play a few games and get my ass kicked like that guy in the video, sometimes even throw away my queen, my rooks totally for free (yes, 1700). I lose 10-15 games in row before I stop it angry at myself right there and leave it for another day. Then I win everything back eventually.
Time management is what always sells it for me. An actual chess player recognizes positions where they need to stop and think. Or maybe they wont. But someone playing the game properly will pause and calculate from time to time. But a player who takes 3 to 10 seconds a move, regardless if the move is obvious or not is just so obvious. No one has 25 moves memorized. No one. There's just too much to know.
This cheater is hilarious that even noob finds a mate but a cheater didn't find it because they try to play on their own. And, this is why cheaters are very funny people indeed.
Based on Justins game alone you can judge this cheater is not even 800 by themselves...they literally only know ladder mate and tried to force it via 20 moves instead of figuring out any other checkmate...
I don't get how these guys even want to play on their own after cheating the opening. It should be clear you will be the willing target of absolute slaughter if you play against someone probably over 1k ELO above you like that. It's like torturing yourself.
My mate cheated against me, but since he is a mega noob i kept playing. He promoted 3 queens after playing a perfect game (didn't know he is cheating so i played the best game of my life, only 5 inaccuracies but got totally crushed). He stalemated me.
I'm in 1000 ELO and play against people that get 98 percent for 100 games with brand new accounts all the time. I feel like they like to curb stomp the low ELO players for fun
