In the video I mention multiple ages...not because there is multiple ages in the bottle but only because Im guessing what age the single barrel is. Just to clarify.
This is one of the best bourbons I’ve ever tried. I have 3 bottles now haha. I have a feeling this batch is going to go up big time on secondary. M20 junior.
I've always enjoyed the Michter's Small Batch, it has always been a great pour. Sure! I'd love to have a bottle of their 10yr! The only problem is that, apart from my hand with wishes in it, there's another hand that is being filled on a far more quicker pace! Cheers! Enjoy!
I got to admit, I didn't expect a recommend from you for this. I had the opportunity to buy this at the distillery when i was across the street for the Louisville slugger museum,, but i passed on price tag alone for ABV. I am sure it is good, but $185 for 45% just isn't in my realm right now. Cheers for the great and knowledgeable review though! I love the facts you put in your videos.

Glad I waited. It is a great pour but not a must buy for me. Think this is only the second time I didn’t agree with you ( I know that matters 😂😂). The rye this year is a must buy for me (though getting tired of high prices).
How is everyone getting this? I live in Kentucky 40 minutes from the distillery and I can’t find it. I even went to Michter’s and they said it’s gonna hit the liquor stores first.
Great question! I've been wondering about all the different single barrels (the barrel numbers are on the neck label). I am getting one and trying to find info on my barrel number. I'm wondering if all the barrels are same age. I tend to think they're close in age but not all exactly the same, but who knows
Nice vid! I know this year's 10 yr release had stocks substantially older than 10 years but with them being all single barrels I'm also wondering how much age variance there was between single barrels? I emailed Michters about it. Hope they respond! I have a bottle coming as well, barrel #291 I think (it's hard to read, kinda sloppy)
I’ve wondered this as well. I wonder if they blend all the 10yr stocks and then “barrel” the blend before bottling, that way they can still call it a single barrel
I find it interesting that if this is possibly older, especially if it was 2+ years more or something they would not change the label to reflect that. I feel like that could at least help justify the price point on this a bit. Maybe there is too much involved with getting that approval to make it worth it. I am sure they know this is going to sell out anyway in this market. Or quite frankly, maybe if they did that, they would just charge more for it :(
Out here in the Los Angeles area it’s rarely below $300 and sits and sits. Glad to here the 2023 is good, but I’ll pass. I got a bottle of the 2020 at TW for $130 in one of those rare “just happened to ask if anything allocated is in the back room” moments that produced a yes. It was a terrible disappointment.
10yr mitchers or a 12yr cheaper Elijah craig barrel proof? It is like this, if you have money and free time, then chase it, and if you don't, then don't sweat it. All one has to do is go grab their favorite available bottle. Either way good luck and cheers to all!
Confused by saying "there's SOME higher aged whiskey in this bottle". As you noted, they are single barrel picks so whatever is in the bottle fully represents how long the entire barrel was aged. With Remus Repeal you do get that blend of different ages, but no so with this Michters.
If it's a single barrel isn't the age statement supposed to reflect the lowest age whiskey in the bottle, so if they aged it another year, it should be stated 11 yr?
Hey Jason. You said some 18+ whiskey blended in, but label says single barrel. Is it a single barrel in which case they would all differ or a blend? Thanks.
Remember when your reviews didn't include a "paid promotion"? I tried it, but I still would pick up EHT Small Batch and ER at $39 (Chicago prices) instead.. As we say in Chi-Town... Michters Be Slippin...
Just think, if they changed the 10 yr. age statement to what the actual year of the whiskey is, 14 or 15, the price would likely be even higher than $185. I say keep the 10 yr.😂
Jason, for an upcoming video, please blind Evan Williams BiB vs KC12. I get it...different distilleries, different ages, different price points...but to me...tastes more similar than they have any business being. Is EW BiB the poor mans KC12yr??
Love your work, but this was a bit confusing. If theses are single barrels then the age in one bottle can only be one age, right? It sounded to me like this was a small batch product with some whiskey being older. But if these are single barrels we could be getting wide a wide variety of ages and quality, right? Am I missing something?
In the video I mention multiple ages...not because there is multiple ages in the bottle but only because Im guessing what age the single barrel is. Just to clarify. I should have explained it better in the video. Each bottle is ONE age. I was just trying to figure out what age it was. But I do think its pretty old.
This is very overpriced! Russell’s Reserve 13 batch 3 is non-chill filtered, barrel proof, contains some 20 year bourbon and only costs $130 retail. I’d still buy it at retail, but not $300-$400. Thank you for the excellently done review as usual! Let’s not forget our delicious Eagle Rare 10 year is $40 at retail!!!
Oh yes it's overpriced. But for those folks that love mickter's 10-year this is a year that might be the best one I've had. But for most folks, this will be a skip. I dint remember the last time I've seen eagle rare.
@@TheMashandDrum Thanks Jason. I really value your opinions. Therefore, if I see this at around $200-$250, I may buy it. These are difficult to find in Illinois. I do see Eagle Rare once in a while.
Was just there last week, I think it’s important to support distilleries that are pushing the boundaries of the process. I got the personalized bottle your own barrel strength bourbon for 170. Stoked to try it on my birthday in November!

“Ages of the whiskey in this bottle”. But isn’t it a single barrel? And it’s aged stated 10. So it’s 10 years. Maybe 10 yrs 11 months and 30 days. Idk 🤷♂️
Hell no! If it's truly older than 10 year..ok 12...14? Still crazy to ask $185 for this. (If it's really a 17 or 18, put it on the damn label.) I got a 2021 bottling at $100 and was still underwhelmed. Had I paid double, i may have needed to buy one of those hemorrhoid pillows.
@@TheMashandDrum also Jason, if this was a press bottle, could they have cherry picked the barrel? Shits been know to happen **cough cough McKenna 10 year**. If it were batched, then it'd be a different story on product consistency.

Spot on review. This year’s 10 yr is phenomenal. Closer in viscosity and taste to a Michter’s 20 yr than ever before
In the video I mention multiple ages...not because there is multiple ages in the bottle but only because Im guessing what age the single barrel is. Just to clarify.
Absolutely.
Great review. Because of your review, I just spent $349.99 thanks. I truly mean it, all of your reviews are spot on.
Love to hear it. I've enjoyed some of their core lineup but I have yet to try a Michter's 10. Sounds like it's time to break that trend.

Virginia ABC just dropped some stores and I was able to grab the last bottle they had. Great review.
So stoked to have scored one of these! Awesome review.
Sounds fantastic. I’ve only owned one and I really enjoyed it. This sounds like one I’d want to find
Just picked one up can't wait to try it.

I’m trying to wrap my head around this. An M10 single barrel that (could be) 15-18 year juice? That’s about as close to an M20 that I’ll ever get.
I am still chasing ECBP A123
It’s so good

rather buy Magnus Cigar Blend or 4 Roses L.E. for the same price or even a Masters Keep if it's a good edition
If this is a single barrel, how can there be multiple ages of whiskey in the bottle? Cheers Jason
Thats honestly a really good point
There isn't. It's an older single barrel. Why they keep the 10 on the label I didn't understand.

I’d buy it for MSRP, which might be a lot for a 10 year, but worth a shot
If your store gave you the option of JD12 and M10, but could only pick one, which one would you choose?
JD12

The secondary market is excited for this 🤣.
I seem to remember the 2019 release being closer to 14 years according to some sources.
If you walk into a liquor store and need to choose this or a RR13 which one would you purchase??
Blind between Remus V, KC18 and this M10?
At close to 200 i can only think of a few Whiskies worth that and most of them are Scotch.
Great review. If I can buy one I’m doing it. 10 year Rye as well. Question, how is it a single barrel if it has higher age bourbons in it?
It's just a higher age in that one single barrel. Higher than 10 for sure
Always a RYE before a Bourbon for my palate ✌🏽
I'm with Aiden...do much.
Doubt I'll see it at MSRP. Won't pay crazy secondary for it. Rather get ECBP 12 year for $100.

In NJ looking at $250. Not for me for what you get yet, I did pickup Glenfarclas 25yr. $225.

It doesn't have multiple. I'm just trying to guess how old it could be. So I was saying multiple ages.
