So glad there’s a preserved set. I like that they have put the L7 logo on one and used the darker tuscan red on that one the way I remember them in their last years (not necessarily the L7 bit). I’m glad you use the red rattler term, purists get uptight about it but that was the the vernacular used.
I was saying that to the volunteers on board and there’s actually an important reason behind it. The operating rules or whatever state that every train must have contrasting colours on the front for visibility. So instead of painting half the front yellow or white, they put the white headboards on since that was the best choice available. Hope that helps :)

I don't know why the F1 needs a big white placard on each end. Impossible to get clean shots of the train and it totally ruins the look of the train.
