Naaahh sometimes she was a little bit too intense to the point that some cut scenes were ridiculous over the top. I know she is angry and all that but sometimes I thought jeez just calm down a notch sister. But overall jeah she did a good job
I don't experience true fear very often but when the mind flayer successfully landed Dominate Person on Dame Aylin when fighting Thorn in the colony, I thought it was the end. Dame Aylin is also quite intimidating, carries authority and charisma in a way very few do.
Nightsong and Raphael are my favorite two NPCs in BG3. The voice acting alone made them so strong, intimidating and likeable I would love to see more of them.
That last turn as her wings stretch out fully, giving you this shot over your character's shoulder up at her moonlight-blazing angelic silhouette, the only detail within being her glowing eyes.
However, they pronounce it wrong... they should say "eye-lin". I'm glad they took the Turkish old moon religion god and moon names... we have many moon names. Ayca, Ayhan, Aydan, Ayla... I can't even count...
She was the most intimidating character in the entire game and it's even more awesome that she was pregnant while she did it. That feels *very* on point for Dame Aylin! Fantastic performance and one of my favorite side characters.
I played the game so many times that i do skip some of the scenes, BUT the scene where dame aylin gets realeased i dim all the lights, turn up the volume and watch the scene with so much emotion and dedication that i cry every time. The scene is so good, i can physically feel the relief and anger of dame aylin and also the confusion and heartbreak of shadowheart and i am so so proud and feel for both of them.. its my favourite scene of the entire game. The acting is so so so good i am speechless every time i see it. Thank you so much for this amazing interview and her breathtaking performance.
Dame was such a phenomenal character. So many of her lines literally made me choke up and fight back tears in act 2. Thank you for bringing us another great interview from BG3. ❤😍 We love you Helen.
Dame Aylin was a beast of a character, playing a vengeance paladin alongside her in my first play through was so memorable. Especially in a certain wizard’s tower in act three…
When Dame and Isobel hugged after the battle at Moonrise made me smile real wide and say, "Awww" and teared a little. It's great to see one of the direct consquences of your victory immediately after it happens. It was a reminder to my character of one of the things the party was looking for. Thanks for the awesome interview!
Dame Aylin was a powerhouse badass. I cheered so hard for her in the cutscenes and some of the epic moments where she comes in to fight with my team. Beautiful, mystical noble, heroic force of nature.
I absolute love casting haste on her when we fight together and just watch her absolutely smash everything in her way. Even better if I also make enemies go blind or paralyzed. She’s just so perfect. ❤❤
I loved her so much! One of my favorite characters in the game. Loud, powerful, and somehow fun at the same time haha. The moment when she kisses Isobel and picks her up and spins her around makes me happy every time. You did an amazing job, Helen!
The moment where she stomps Ketheric into a pile of gore IN A RIGHTFUL RAGE is probably my favorite moment in the entire game. Like it’s just so satisfying and cathartic and I love Aylin so much ❤
Finding nightsong and freeing her in my first playthrough was the most impressive part of the game. I can't lie... It put tears to my eyes. Only the fight against kethric thorm was similar impressive. Great work.
Oh that explains it all, she's a WARHAMMER voice actress, OMG. I loved her intensity and emotions. Dame Aylin is so awesome and Helen isnso beautiful as well. I'm smitten
I just love the Dame Aylin character .I want to make one like her for next playthrough. Ms Keeley your voice resonates with power.Thank you for your performance.
Dame Aylin is one of the most badass good characters i've ever seen. I got goosebumps when I freed her. The way she speaks and her rightous anger are so epic. How she stomped Ketheric's corpse into a pulp or broke the wizards back while giving an epic speach was so damn satisfying. It is really hard for me to do an evil playthrough in this game because i can't bring myself to kill some of the great characters. Chopping off the head of our girl Karlach left me kinda traumatized :D. Btw - Dame is german for Lady. And goddamn a lady she is.
Dame is also Lady in French. the difference is that in French the e is silent but it is still spelled Dame. I think the Origin in Dame Aylin looking at her design it might have been the inspiration but I have no clue.

Cleric is one of the lest played classes in BG3, according to Larian, so most of cleric's representation came from Shadowheart as a character. And at first, you can't help but feel a little discomfort with her life as a cleric - she's constantly worried of what her goddess might think, she's constantly in pain, even over choices she did not make, and she suffers a great deal because of her faith, it seems. Only upon meeting characters like Isabel and Aylin does that notion of cleric's hardship fade. It is amazing to me that a goddesses daughter stands so much for maturity, independence, making your own choices, quite contrary to Shadowheart's life as a cleric. From the beginning, she urges SH to take action, to make choices, to stand up for herself. It was epic to hear, again, the daughter of a goddess say "ALLOW the Moonmaiden to guide you at last". Allow. A goddess. Wow. And the scene where she calls to her mother...My most favorite scene in the whole game. To be lost for a century, knowing your mother would never find you in the Shadow realm, and then to finally be freed, and Selune's response was..just..breathtaking. The passion and honesty in Nightsong's voice acting easily makes her one of most memorable characters in BG3.
Shadowheart is actually one of the reasons why so few people play clerics. You very rarely see a playthrough where Shadowheart is not in the party all the time - and bringing a second cleric....
@@HH-hd7nd I never really saw the problem with that. Is it just a "there's no variation" issue? I almost always play a Selunite cleric even with Shadowheart in my party lol

The voice acting is one of many things that make this game incredible. I bought the game a week ago, with some walkthroughs just got to Nightsong, didn't kill you, couldn't live with that decision, or what it would do to Shadowheart. I played tabletop D&D in school...about 35 years ago, this game is a dream.
Very happy for this Christmas surprise. Dane Aylin was my favorite character in the game because she was a gender bent replica of my first ever dnd character, an Aasimar Paladin who was sworn to Selune.
Dame Aylin ended up being one of my favorite bg3. ❤️ Thank you Helen for the wonderful performance and great interview! I want to see Helen and her husband stream bg3. 👀
I loved finding Aylin and her character itself. Helen did such an awesome job in voicing her! Still all parts of that character lives rent free in my mind and I even started to do her as my first cosplay from baldurs gate 3. I'm sure I need to do my first Tav someday as well, but the armor of Aylin was just to tempting.
Loved her performance! Thought it stood out subtly in that her speech was more formal as someone who lived for hundreds of years would have different phrasing. So many great writers and actors in BG3!
Finally! Huge thanks, Dan, for this long-awaited interview. Aylin remains my most beloved character in BG3, even after 3 months. Helen’s extraordinary performance is simply unforgettable.
I rather liked Dame Aylin's stillness. It made her movements, when she did them, mean more. GREAT character! Let's all PRAY that Netflix doesn't get the rights to make a BG3 adaptation.
I dont think a character in a video game ever scared me like Dame Aylin did when she said she was going to murder me, my children and my children’s children. She had such hatred in her voice.
If i’m not mistaken, she plays two NPCs? I admit that i don’t agree with how Larian depicts Mystra partly. I’m actually a Mystra fan and slept on all the Lore I could find. So in some parts it’s different from how it would see the goddess. Set aside that I miss more special options or chances if playing as a Cleric of hers. Like i would be all for a choice, either submit to her will or defy her for what she demands from you and Gale for example But Dame Aylin is very cool. Very confident and determined in her faith even through 100 years of captivity and torment. I totally understand how she reacts to Lorroakan for example. She has been power battery for Ketheric against her will for so long. Then comes some wizard and wants to do the same. Of course she is angry and wants to kill get him first. I had a lot of fun, to make him believe she easily dead and then kill him with Aylin together:D
I was salty that Aylin wasn't a romance option. I mean I get it, her and Idobel share a love more pure than any in the history of the concept....but like....please?
Does anyone have recommendations for audiobooks narrated by Helen? Any genre is fine. I have fallen in love with her voice and only got ONE credit on Audible, so I need to choose wisely.
please dont let netflix massacre this, they lack passion, interest, dedication, they lack everything that made this game amazing... just look at the witcher ? man i hope Larian go so far as creating a production themselves, not to ridicule netflix, but show them passion is what makes it work in the end
Man I loved Dame Aylin. Though, they better not make a live action BG3. After the performances the actors gave in the game, no actor could possibly replicate or do justice to them. Not to mention if it's done by Netflix, their writers almost always make an absolute mess of things. Just leave BG3 alone.
